Gillet - Top Speed??

Hi there, I am a few days into playing the PSP version of GT. Naturally as a MASSIVE GT fan I had the whole initial disappointment with the lack of career/trophy races but now I am over it. However after grinding to get a few million, I bought the Gillet ... but...

...Now I have it I think it is useless...unless I am being dumb.

On Midfield I top out the max revs on the downhill straight and the car drops speed.

To check I went to the test track, it hits max speed quickly and then it hits the rev limiter and starts bucking - forward, backward, forward, backwards - actually jumping!

Now having looked at the tuning, there doesn't seem to be a way to alter the car set up to increase the speed...

any help out there?

I have been on the tuning forum - gttuner.net but there were no setups there for the Gillet.

so what you are actually saying is that I have to bunny hop that over priced piece of rubbish down every medium length straight in the game? It gets to its top speed in seconds...

...arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:grumpy:

What's the top speed of this car? PD seems to have shot themselves in the foot by removing gear tuning in GTPSP it seems...

I see. It's THAT bad then. Honestly, I can't see why PD didn't put gear tuning in this game. If they can fit in 800+ cars, 35+ tracks and everything else why can't they fit in gear tuning? Hell, just give me the slider for Final Drive and I'll be happy (I rarely tune individual gears anyway).

It is so bad it almost tops out on the Cote D'azure! Going up the hill! Waste of space :( No I have to drift some more to get some money for something else...

what I do to stop from hitting the rev limiter is to lift off the throttle just before it hits the rev limiter, let it drop by 3-5kph, (I don't use the gillet)then throttle on again and keep repeating. that way you get a higher average top speed as you won't get that massive dip in speed when it hits the rev limiter, which takes time to reach the top speed again.

I tried that, but the Gillet hits it so fast that unless I am about to brake anyway...

...never mind, hopefully I can take it into GT5 instead, and then it will be useful!

Hmm, I just added the TVR Cerberus to my roster and to my eternal disappointment it CAN NOT hit its alleged top speed of 240mph...rather it just bounces like the Gillet at 229 (only when drafting, it is not possible to hit it without draft) arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i hate this game!
