im trying to use the ginetta in the n/a professional race but its not competitive at all. ive got most mods with engine, susp, tires, drive train, and light weight but its still very unstable even with all the driver aids on max.

does anyone else have exp with this car? it should be amazing handling with such light weight. should i just give up with it?

thanks

Try a fairly aggressive LSD initial torque setting and longer gears - the longer gears should keep the motor's output relaxed enough to control the car, and while I'm not usually an advocate of strong initial torque, in a car like the Ginetta, it can be useful.

You might also try not applying the weight reduction - the lighter it is, the more unstable it's going to be, especially since it doesn't allow wing fitment. If you've already done the weight reduction, try adding some ballast weight and playing with the balance. If the car is understeering with the settings you're using, add it to the rear end. If it's too tailhappy, add it to the front end.

If all else fails, reduce the power a bit.

That said, it's going to have trouble competing with bigger, more stable, more powerful cars no matter how brilliantly its tuned. It can be done though! 👍

With the amount of money you poured into the Ginetta, you could of bought a stock NSX and thrashed the NA races to nothing

But if you want the Ginetta to win, then what CLS suggested will help you do that.

Also, driving smoother will help alot. Remove those aids and learn to control the car, it may be difficult at first but once you've gotten used to it, your driving will be so much more better.

excellent advice guys thanks

i will try ballast and if not good i will try another car.

ps. im hesitant to use nsx b/c my awful real life business partner had 3 of them and i dont want to think of him during my virtual time. he has a maser spider now so thats out too.

You can find a used Cobra R for 28 grand... So if the Ginetta can't be stabilized, the CR will most likely win the NA races at a walk.

you should try a Spoon DC2, great FF 👍

like what VTiRoj suggested, try turning off the driving aids and get familiar with the car's behavior.., it's a bit tricky to use super-lightweight cars (my Spoon Civic understeers a lot) but you can do it.., 👍

excellent advice.

i thought lighter cars should be better handling than heavy ones but i will try out all of the above

thanks

That's true, to a point. Reduced weight does normally improve all handling characteristics, but in the case of extreme lightweight, traction issues can become a problem - especially in a car that allows no added downforce.

i agree, less weight = less pressure on tires.., 👍

i would also recommend downforce, but if that does not help the car stick to the track, just add weight.., or a well-tuned FC LSD could do better..,
