As I've been judging the TCV5 on my own time, I've realized that when I finally get to put my results up, some of them will turn out to be rather lengthy posts. I like to explain why I'm voting the way I am, you see, in a fully public manner.

I don't want to edit these posts to contain multiple cars because to manage all this text might get cumbersome. Nor do I want to make a downsized chart or Zip file or whatever. It's just much easier to have a post per car...easier to edit later on, etc. Easier for everyone to read. :) So I may find myself in trouble with the AUP police because it means I'll be double and triple-posting when the TCV5 judges thread finally goes up.

So here's what I decided to do about this!

I'm giving back to the GT community, which will hopefully alleviate any extra cost my extra posts shall incur, not to mention all the lengthy posts (and pics) I've made in the past and will make in the future. This way, by giving back to the community, GTP gets some money, and everyone is happy (hopefully). :) I saw someone else do something similar in the GT5 section, so hopefully the mods won't have an issue if I do this here. Just PM me if you do have some issue. :scared:

What does all this mean? This means one of the lucky posters in this thread (once I open it) shall get a free GTP PREMIUM YEAR-LONG GIFT from me, Mr. Parnelli Bones. :):D:dopey: Hell, I've got some money saved, might as well share some of it. What goes around goes around and all that.

I've decided to open this thread in the GT4 forum (rather than in the Rumble Strip or some other area I rarely visit) because alot of my friends are here in GT4. This gift could actually wind up going to somebody I know and love, rather than a total stranger; but if a stranger wins, so be it. But there are some conditions, as found below.

Here are the rules:

1). There shall be 40 posts in this thread, starting with Post #2 (which is actually considered the first post). If everything goes right, post #41 (really #40) shall wind up being the winner! This can change if Condition #2 happens, however...

2). No double posts, or post-whoring in general, during the bulk of this thread...HOWEVER, if somebody makes it to post #39, they CAN perform a double-post to try and make it to #40, and therefore WIN. Therefore, this thread shall hopefully look like this:

Posts #2 thru 40--Various people show up in this thread, posting messages one at a time. Whoever posts #39 is allowed to double-post to try and make it to post #40...

So if you make Post #28, for instance, you'll need to wait for somebody else to make Post #29 before you can make Post #30, get it? :) No double-posts.

3). If I've had a history of flaming wars with this person, or other such nonsense, I can opt not to give the prize to this person. I'm buying dinner, I want to feel like I'm buying it to somebody I don't hate! They can secretely hate me, tho.

--IN THE EVENT that a double-post does happen before Post #40, that person shall be eliminated from the contest. :grumpy: I'm doing this to avoid having somebody sit there and just go

Post 2: queen

Post 3: dopey

Post 4: mustavah ..and on and on

--These double-posts (or post-whores) will not count towards the actual 40 posts required to finish this contest. Therefore, if somebody chooses to make a double-post (by accident or on purpose) there might wind up being more than 40 posts in this thread before the winner is allotted.

--For now, this thread shall be LOCKED. At some point, I will open it, and the contest will BEGIN.

....stay tuned....

EDITED as per CODENAME's request:

Okay. This first post (rules) doesn't count. Codename's post below is actually considered Post #1. There shall be 40 posts that count (if everything goes right).

In other words...40 total posts from y'all, which will actually wind up being more than 40. Confusing, but don't worry. I'll keep tally. :D

....and yes, the contest is on!

It's funny that I'm the post #2, but better be that and not post #42. Anyways, I'm glad you are doing this. Hopefully a lucky person will win it 👍

You forgot about something, though. You could clarify this to the participants (which I assume won't be more than 7 people posting all the time.)

Post #4: Double post by person of post #3.

Does this mean only post 1 and 2 count?

May whoever gets this prize use their premo wisely and thank Parnelli for offering this up in the first place. 👍

Secretly wishing for one of the GT4 regulars to get it.

Post #4.

I see. :)

Personally, I think the number should be higher... like the 122nd post or some other arbitrary number above 100. This would prevent two people from sitting here dominating this thread for the next half hour. I could see the potential for people to collude together to accomplish this.

I could see it as well, but let's hope it doesn't happen eh?

Sorry to interrupt. The counting got screwy. My post (rules) is not supposed to be counted. CodenameL = the first of 40 posts, not the 2nd.

Which means, ignore the actual blue number in the top right corner of each post.

Rotary Junky got the 17th of 40 posts.

Whoever posts after me will be up to 18.

When somebody gets to be the 39th poster of this thread, he or she (probably he) can choose to make a final double-post, and will win if he's fast enough. If he's not fast enough, somebody else will win, of course.

okay...so we're up to 17. Keep going!

I've got a sort of guilt trip going on here now... I've been a member since very early '03 and I've never donated/payed for premium. :scared:

If I do end up getting this then I will purchase Premium for a member of my choice. It'll be someone who I feel is helpful and contributing to GTP in a positive way, even if it is a somewhat new name. And no, I don't have anyone in mind.

I'd like to reward good behavior regardless of their membership status. :)

EDIT: This is Post 18

Bak on the topic of TCv5 then...O.K., i was wondering: After the judges decide the winners of each class, whats happens after that? Another run-off to decide the "Overal Battle Monster of Motegi" or does it just end with the winners listed as the "Lightweight Battle Monster of Motegi" and so on and so forth?

Hey I'm presuming that counts as a post

(That's a therefore sign, just if you were wondering)

Good luck to all TCv5 judges; I did about 23 cars for TCv4 so I know how much work it is. Am looking forward to checking out the other entries too, so good luck to everyone

Thanks PF, it's certainly becoming expensive. I packed in about 10 million credits (my previous maximum was about 500 000, before I got spend happy), and it looks like that might be enough!

Yeah, I just hope that my cars don't end up in last place in each division!:)

Anywho...I was wondering: How do you get the photos you take in GT4 to you're computer? Because that's the only reason i haven't had the motivation of writting a GT4-Related story or opening up a GT4 Tuning Garage; I want to take photos of my work and show them to people!

'Cos it puts you non-Premos one post closer to the nirvana of 1500 PMs, no adverts and the naked chicks thread!!! :sly:
But I wouldn't contribute to something so frivolous. Oh, wait. Damnit! :dunce:

But the naked chicks thread, much like the cake, is a lie!

Also, this is post #27 (the post I'm making right now that is). Learn to counting.

EDIT: Make that 28 and 27, respectively.

Also, weasles: You plug a USB flash drive into PS2, and choose USB memory as where to save to when you take the pics. ;)

That's it? Just get a USB memory stick, save the photo to it and upload into my Lap-Top? Shoot, if that's the case then i would've been posting photos since i joined this wonderful website! :gtpflag:
