Glitch !! Finishing 1st . . . but the results places you second ??? WTF !!

Has anyone experienced this ???

I was doing the first race (Paris Opera) of the Dream Car Championship. I'm using the Merc CLK DTM coming first with the GTR Prototype LM about 1-2cars behind me on the final lap.

At the end of the long straight the GTR all of a sudden slows down to idle !

When I cross the finish line in first place, the results come up and i'm regulated to 2nd !!!

Has anyone else experienced this glitch ???
I'm going to try and replicate the race and save the video reply to prove i'm not insane !!!

I think I read about this somewhere. No doubt somebody (Smallhorses or somebody else) knows about this glitch in more detail.

Yes, I've seen this too.
It was extremely irksome as I was doing a 200 A-spec point race and it was exceedingly tough.
Sure enough watching the replay after the race from the perspective of the 4th placed Nissan GT-R, on the final lap as he passes the split after the tight hairpin and comes out to the backstretch it showed his as ~24s behind my leading JGTC car (can't remember which one I was trying at the time.)
As he rounds the fast left turn in that straight, all of a sudden his place marker changes to 1st, and despite me winning the race and with 2 Ford GT LMs between me and the GT-R too, it shows the race result as the GT-R winning by 24s.

Not sure what caused this, and I couldn't get it to replicate even though I tried the exact same race again several times.

There's some race in GT5 Prologue that I read has this same problem. I'm forgetting which one, but several people have commented that in order to win, you gotta make 2nd place, rather than 1st. Or maybe it was the demo version of Prologue, rather than Prologue itself that had this prob.

Sounds like a really rare mishap. Can't say it's ever happened to me.

No, but I remember qualifying last and then after a tremendous **** up during the beginning parade, making second at the start of the race on Paris Opera.

I have never seen the finish 1st end up 4th glitch but i have seen the opera paris glitch, in fact it happens every time i do the German Touring Car Championship, i have an audi tt touring car ( the blue one lol ) and its fully tuned to about 750bhp, and it always gets to second before the start of thr race, wheather I qualify or not
