just to clear up a few things:
M3 is correct, 2002 will be the last year for the f-body cars as we know it. and as far as i know, they probably are going to completely overhaul the entire platform, but not because the demand is so high. there practically is no demand, the f-body's are - and have been - on a selling slump for some time, losing to the more civilized (and boring) mustang. so GM appears to be sort of throwing in the towel for the time being. the new f-body's may not even be true muscle cars in the future, but more people-friendly (that live rear axle can be quite a handful for over-anxious and inexperienced drivers) and tame. that of course sucks for those people who can truly appreciated a full-blown performance car.
personally, i think it's a damn shame that the f-body's are going to go away. but at the same time, i understand the position GM is in. we'll just have to see what happens in the future.
