Have you driven one?

I've been watching them on autotrader / ebay and they still pull mid teens - low 20's!! Insane.. I want one. Now..

Yeah I have been all over Autotrader, I should just get a subscription to the magazine. . . Not too bad, I remember about 4 or 5 years ago they got one pulling in the 10's :D

That's a sick truck. I can remember when that was the truck that everybody wanted, not saying that it's still not wanted, but not many exist in the buyer's market. :(

Friend of mine used to own one. one year the block froze and cracked, then someone broke into the auto shop and stole the radio. Dam fast truck too.:(

blazin will definatly like this...
i like the vette rims (grand sport right?)
i was always fond of these and extremes, and typhoons

Yeah, the wheels are from the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport. (ZR-1 wheels will work also)

The front are 17x9.5 w/a 275-40
The rear are 17x11 w/a 315-35

The Typhoon is pretty sweet too. Same thing just a Jimmy not a noma. I've looked everywhere to find one but there pretty rare.

I'm in class right now but when I get home I'll put up all the other stats I have on it and all the other sweet pictures I have.

I have those same tires on my car at the moment. Except I have 245's all around. I think that's the Goodyear eagle GS-C's. They are expensive, I have to pay $169+ per tire when I replace 'em. I don't know the price on the 315's, i'm sure it costs a lot.

The syclone is an awesome truck, i've wanted one for a long time. A friend of a friend has one, it's beefed up pretty good, runs high 11's low 12's.

As I promised more info:

The GMC Typhoon was based on the Jimmy. It is a 2 door, AWD automatic, TURBO 280 hp 4.3. They were very fast from factory. Chevy claims around 14.0 flat. There were 2,998 Sy's produced in 1991and 4,697 Ty's in 1992 & 1993.

The Syclones were made first, then came the Typhoon. They were only made for a few years. At the time, nobody wanted an almost $30K SUV. The Syclone truck only had a 500 lbs payload capacity, and the Typhoon wasn't made for towing either. The TY isnt' even rated at all for towing. And, this wasn't exactly the vettes hay-day. They were taking away from the sales of the corvette, and they were just about as quick.

The top speed on these things was near 125 mph and went 0 -60 in about 5.6 seconds. I have all the other stats if anyone wants them, but just seach on yahoo and you'll find it.

Here are some more pictures.

The guy down the street from me had one of these not too long ago and I walked by the house all the time just to see it. I love this truck but dont have any info on it :/

Ya they weighed alot but compared to a normal S-15 its only about 200 pounds more.

I'm going to sell my daily driver ('95 Vortec-6 S10) within' the next month or two. It will be replaced with a Syclone. For those wondering, I'm not doing this on a whim. I have been throwing the idea around in my mind for 3-4 years.

There goes the money for my Rx-7 project once again.. :indiff:

I have seen quite a few really low mileage Sy's go for 11-12k. My truck books for $5,800, so I should be able to get low-mid 4 for it. I have an equal ammount in the bank, the rest I'll save.

I'm going to avoid another bank loan at all costs. Banks are sharks!

I was browsing the syty.net forums and realized how fast these trucks can be..

I'll use TK's truck as an example -

Minor bolt-ons
93 pump gas and - Alcohol injection
Straight through exhaust
Ultimate chip
