Go-Karts in GTS?? Anyone

That's a shame because of how little use they were in GT5 and 6 (except online).
Would be nice (and fun) to see them return (especially since PD spent all that time modelling them). Otherwise, that's wasted potential

Without a proper karting circuit, it's a waste to include karts to begin with.

Please God no. If they've only got 140 cars, please don't use any on karts. They're cute, but they're an additional after you have a well sorted car game.

There's already a whole bunch of wasted potential from GT5 and 6. The karts are just the tip of the iceberg.

If they wanted a proper karting circuit, why not include Buckmore Park in Kent - it's where Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button started their motorsport careers and is owned by the 1964 F1 World Champion John Surtees. He does a huge amount for charity and I am sure he would welcome the publicity and perhaps a donation to the Henry Surtees Foundation or the Racing Steps Foundation. A tie up would also make sense if it gave Polyphony Digital access to model some of his incredible car collection which includes classic F1 and sports cars and the Lola T70 with which he won the inaugural Can Am championship in 1966.

Unfortunately it appears Imari is right and there are a huge amount of GT5 and 6 assets going to waste. However I find that the Karts in GT6 are hugely popular with my kids and their friends and young relatives who use my wheel from time to time.

If we only have 140 cars I don't want the karts included, but if PD clean up and port across all the premium models from GT6 then I definitely would want the karts added together with a proper kart track to go with the current fantasy indoor layouts which my kids love.

I will never let go of the matter of not being able to drive cars at Kart Space in GT6. I learned how to drift there and it's flippin great. I'll go for it later. For old times sake.

only 140 cars , hmm , that will for sure cost them some customers and iff they dont include kart`s either iam sure they will lose even more customers , I truly hope they keep the shifter kart at least , as you , in my humble opinion can learn A LOT by driving it ......

Karts never felt right in the last games, you never got that sense of speed and agility from them. They just felt clumsy and slow.
One thing that hybriding revealed to me is that a lot of the issues with karts in GT5 were related to power levels, tire choices and brake balance. Once you adjusted all three, there were some pretty lively rides to be had. I had a 45 hp 6 speed shifter made with more rear-biased brakes and sports hards and it was an uber fun drive, much more realistic in terms of handling. It led me to believe it was simply PD's implementation of karts that sucked because the underlying physics weren't half bad.

I do agree kind of, but I absolutely loved them in GT5 may not of felt right but I was hyped and addicted to the karts in GT5 effiel and tokyo bay kart space? I'd say 50/50 along with the online and career races. I don't enjoy them that much in 6 because there wasn't really that much interesting than 5 it didn't feel like a proper career. It would be great to have them in GT Sport with more class karts and kart tracks. Although it may not happen but I wouldn't mind having it as DLC.

A lot of that is down to your steering sensitivity and FFB settings. If you can, maybe try dropping your wheel's rotation down to about 180 degrees and cutting back on your FFB strength while kicking up FFB environmental effects a little bit and it should handle rather more like a kart.

I will be a little bit upset if they do not introduce karts and kart tracks for the first thing in career mode. Even more so if they are not in the game at all.

Karts are my pride and joy in GT.

Then you will probably end up being upset...
The chances of karts appearing in game, at release, are VERY little.
Like it was mentioned above, the car count is too small, if we take into account what we had in previous titles. So wasting time and effort to remodel and implement karts and respective tracks, would make people go mad, especially with the lack of classic/90s/early 2000s road cars and race cars, no Super GT, etc., and the fairly limited tracks count.

They have to prioritise the content they add, and for now, I don't think karting is one of those priorities.

I set the video up at the part where he's talking about karts. Watch for yourself and judge. Seems pretty clearcut to me.
Doesn't seem to be stated explicitly, at least in my mind anyway. Kaz doesn't say "we will put karts in GT Sport"

That's how I've taken it as well. Kaz' comment doesn't seem to be specifically about including karts, but about addressing the grassroots side of motorsports as well as the top-tier professional stuff.

At least, that's my take. Unless we're going to pretend the latter part of that statement means Kaz has "confirmed" F1's inclusion too...

If it were anyone else I'd say it was a lock. Kaz being Kaz means it could be anything or nothing at all. When it comes to GT, or most games for that matter, you wait until it releases and only then do you know what you really have.

The game is to cater from 7-77. Guess it makes sense to include virtual karts. Wonder how this will translate to the online portion of the game. Part of Gr.N? New Gr.F? Or maybe the whole cass thing gets a revamp.

He mentions grass roots Motorsport - my interpretation is that this probably does not mean Karts - it just means that GTS is designed to give the player a wide range of virtual motorsport experiences from the grassroots to the top tier. It might be via a kart or karts, but given the low car count it seems unlikely. The top tier is also not necessarily F1, but could be an F1 like experience.

Karts are an essential part of road racing. It doesn't get much more driver focused and that can really let skills shine. Go find a race league and spend a month there. You'll get it.
