Gold: Other victims of time truncating ?

Yesterday, I was trying for the gold f( IC license , Celica at Midfield ).
The required time is 15.100, I made it exactly at that vale but of course didn't get the gold because of the truncating process.
Did it ever hapened to you ? Should it be considered a bug ? ( Imho, yes )

This has happened to me a couple of times. It's so F'in frustrating, especially when you're doing a test for the 118th time! In my opinion, it's not a true bug..it was simply programmed this way by someone at Polyphony. It's basically an oversight, the same way that the 5,000 credit car wash was an oversight or the Viper Vestibal of Speed was an oversight.

A bug is something that is in the game and simply shouldn't be there; for instance, I don't think someone sat down and said hmmm, well, I'm gonna program this game to steal cars, yet it still happens.

There is a defiance of convention in some parts of GT2.

In some places (time trials, I think, maybe machine test) 15.001 will show as 15.1 which greatly defies convention.

Now. If one get 15.001 or 15.010 in the license test referred to, and that was rendered as 15.1 and that was actually compared as equal to 15.100 it would be extremely difficult to argue that was not a bug.

However, I think you do not get gold on a test by matching the gold time. You must better the time. I suspect that is all that is going on here. I would guess the times are compared in their raw form, not in the form rendered for display. But I could be wrong.

I thought I might have a diary page applicable to this, but actually I think I only noted it at the old GTF (RIP :( )

I recently transcribed it to...

I've seen one bug still in version 1.2--it is still the case in the Max Speed Test that if you get a maximum speed of, say, 143.04 mph, it will be displayed as 143.4 mph (i.e. the zero after the decimal point gets lost). I actually had two speeds displayed the other day which verified this, but I first determined it by using a GS Pro. (The times are stored as an integer, representing the number of hundredths of mph).
I can't say for sure whether I've seen the same thing in race results or license test results.

Biased turkey
If it's not a bug then the required maximim time for the gold should be mentioned as 15.099

Yes, very much agreed! Here's the thing: I really believe that a programmer screwed up. He or she had limited time to put code into the game and didn't get it right.
