Gold. Silver or shiny decals

Anybody know if there's a way to get decals to be gold or silver. I know there doesn't seem to be away to use the special colours but you can't really achieve proper metallic colours in the HSL picker. Failing that is there a way to have the main paint job as a special colour, paint over the top and then have a decal turn what's beneath transparent to show the original body paint?

No, you can't change decals to special colours, they can only be set to colours that can be represented as RGB or HSV codes.

You can paint the body the special colour, and use decals to mask off the special paint to make it look like the decal is a special colour, but this can be quite time consuming and requires custom decals.

They really need to allow chrome/metallic decals. I had to do the reverse fill like mentioned above just to get a metallic stripe on one of my cars, extremely painstaking and time consuming.

Another option could be to allow the basic shapes to be deleted from the layer below. For example, make your car metallic red, then cover the entire car with a plain blue decal then add a shape (e.g. a star). There should then be an option to remove this shape from the blue decal leaving a blue car with a metallic red star.

Haven't put a lot of thought into this idea so there may be limitations and/or good reasons it cant be done!!

Or of you make a svg file its not so hard to do. Just keep the areas wich you in a special color open. The rest is in one color wich you can change ingame to any other color you want. Just like i did on this EVO.

If you make a sticker on you’re pc or Mac. Then cut out the parts that you want in the special color. For example see this logo i’ve used on the Evo.

The rest of the sticker you make black for example and then in GT Sport change it. For example to red. Then paint your car for example Chrome and then put the sticker over it. And then fill up the rest of the car with stickers in the color you would like the car in. In my case red. I hope this helps a bit!

I remember having some great looking cars in a previous Gran Turismo (5 or 6 ?) with Chrome Stripes. Was just about to start a new thread about it, when I found this one which answers my question. Many Thanks. But PD should perhaps allow their Decals to be done in the Special Colours too !!!

If you're doing the older GT chromeline or stealth liveries I created these which might make it easier if you're using special paint finishes as a base.
