Hi, I'm new to drifting. I was wondering what is a good drift car in GT5 to start out with? And whatever that car is, can you please tell me the tune settings for it?

Thanks, rjlee

For me, it was the AEM S2000. Great car, able to drift stock, even comes with Comfort Soft tires out of the box! Although this might not fit you, you can try other cars and wait for a reply of a more seasoned drifter. ;)

Nissan S13 and Mazda RX-7 FC are very easy to drive, with mid power, or a stock Hachiroku with comfort hards like eddyac says ;)

The Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero is very good. I'm new to drifting as well, and that's the first car to work well. I lightened it and gave it 60 more HP and it's easy to use and very fun. I didn't mess with stuff much other than that. I think I lowered the car a bit and that's it. Try that or do some researching on the forums. You'll find something that suits you, 👍

I still haven't used a japanese car for drifting...... Besides the i concept

NOT IN ANY ORDER.... (stock means stock besides tires), I just use my race tunes besides tires

a stock jag e-type is great,

a fully tuned 599, got my first 10k with it, using sarthe grind setup

the 2j isn't bad to start with but getting 10k with it takes effort and skill (the key is to not turn right in a 2j),

speed 12 has a lot of power and probabably not great for beginners

Stock audi R8 race car '01- same as speed 12

stock MarkIV race car- quite good, do not lift when shifting

Miura- quite good to begin but hard to get as high as e-type or speed 12

Countach- not bad either

i Concept '03- great for drifting pics, but sucks, which is why it's great for pics

^ Dont look at the post above these are cars that work in drift mode which means nothing in gt5 drifting , i started with an s13 , look for a setup in the database and from then on just practice ;)

I just have tips for how to get good at drifting, not what cars are good for drifting. I started off with AWD, then RWD (in order): FR, MR, RR, and finally FWD. There's such thing as MF and RF, but TOTALLY not in this game!

stock rx8 with a diff is pretty fun, If you like it then tweak it up to 470hp and hards you will one of the fastest drifters through the twisties:tup:

The usual well balanced Japanese RWD cars.

- Toyota Corolla
- Nissan Silvia
- Mazda Miata
- Mazda RX-7
- Honda S2000

Can't really go wrong with any of these. And there should be a tune for these cars in the drift settings thread.

What i mean is that a car can get a huge score in drift mode but be completely rubbish in a drift battle ;)

Totally agree. Drift points mean nothing in an online lobby. If anything it means the car will be too fast and have poor angle which is what you need in Drift mode to get points, hence why everyone in the Drift mode trial in the seasonals have the same car :)..

Any RWD car will do like Adavicro said. To start of with just get A lesser powered car and put comfort hard tyres on it until you get the hang of the car losing grip etc.. The Nissan Silvia S13 from the New Car Dealership is perfect.
