Hey dudes. Im would like to start drifting. Never tried it before. I've heard that a S2000 is a good drifting car. How many HP shall it have to be easiest? and if anybody got a good tuning tune for it please share it with me :)

Depending if you're a beginner to the game or a beginner to drifting you could always try a TVR, but if you're just starting the game that might be a bit expensive, other than that Nissans are usually good drifters.

As you may see in my signature im not new..
Have played with a wheel since GT3. So im not new to the game.

But never tried drifting before.

I started off using an AE86(In game and all stock) without ABS(which the car never came with in real life) and I started doing drifts based on "Drift Bible" and it work good. Probably because I hold the brakes till it would lock and do the wonders.

Hmm okay i'll try it out. Ive been using a wheel for a while now but ive heard that its much more difficult with wheel. So what shall i do? Wheel or DS3?

I started off using a Spirit R Rx-7, SUPER easy to set-up, and it drifts very well.

this is what I posted in another thread:

Weird that this thread popped up because I was gonna start a recommendation thread. I'd say I'm a decent drifter - I'm not a high speed drifter but I do get decent scores on the drift seasonals and the sector runs. My current best Tsukuba run is 19,600.

I was goofing around last night with a RUF RGT 00 - found it amazingly easy to drift AND control once you get the HP up to about 430.

The ONLY change I made to it was to bump up the horsepower but everything else was bone stock. I ran CM on the front and CH on the rears (which is what I normally do). No suspensions changes, no tranny changes, nothing. Excluding the increase on horsepower, I was running it straight off the showroom floor. I know its an MR car but for folks having trouble learning how to drift, it might be a good learning tool.

I bought an extra one last night since it popped up in my UCD. I'll share it if anyone wants to try.

Also, run ALL aids OFF, and set ABS to one. If needed, also adjust your controller sensitivity to your liking if you use a DS3.

Like I tell everyone, something lightweight and RWD is your best bet.

S13, RX7 FC, S2000, the list goes on and on. You could learn in a Daihatsu Midget if you wanted.

Not to be a jerk, but thought you'd like to know the Ruf RGT is rear engine - RWD. So RR not MR.

Will give it a go drifting. Never tried it. Wonder how the other Ruf's fair. Most are RR. Think maybe one vert is FR.

I've tried a few cars now and found that either the Z33 or Z34 are the easiest for me and the require little to no setting changes

87 lotus esprit hc turbo, trust me its sooo easy!! or amuse 350z if you want a premium

or - practice in a yellowbird and everything else becomes much easier

Thanks for the tips. Usually used a Amuse 380 for drifting with a controller but it seems pretty tough with wheel so i think ill try out a RX7 ;)

:D the RX-7 is a solid choice. I remember my S2000 being super easy to manipulate. You could throw it almost anything and it'll get through it.

Someone did mention the Daihatsu MidgetII...and it sounds crazy, but it's the PERFECT car to learn to drift (on the plus side it also gets many mixed reactions). If you max the Midget II the car pretty much performs slow-motion drifts and it's very controllable.

i would prob say, try using a older toyota supra mkiii or nissan silvia platform if ur trying out and ur new, upgrade the turbo and change the tires to comfort and play around. its easy to overpower at first which i think u should do and then when u get better u can either add more power or less and tune suspension, it up to you
