So today I was downloading a video on my HP (which took a long time) and when I clicked download, a new tab came up and this was it:

There's also this dialog message that came with it:

This is showing up only on Google Chrome. I can't close it because of this and when I try to, a similar message tells me "DO NOT RESTART" but I can use Internet Explorer without trouble and therefore can still find a solution. What do I do to fix this issue?

The fact that there's two S's in Technicians tells me it's a trojan/virus/malware,etc, etc. A search for that phone number on Google gives me results in an Asian language. (Japanese?)

Looks very sketchy.

So the message about "Do not restart" is false then.

Also, I noticed this bluescreen doesn't look anything like the regular bluescreens normally shown (like what I used to have on my Acer). Guess that should've been another giveaway.

Edit: Think I found it. Appears to be whats reffered to as "Ransomlock". Looking for it gave me the exact style of screen (different text, but about what I got in the pic). Weirdly, its only doing this to Chrome as I can still use Internet Explorer.

Ctrl alt delete ... find the program running and kill it restart pc

Done ctrl-alt-delete. I've got a screen with:

lock
Switch User
Sign out
Change a password
Task Manager

Can't find it. Since this only appears to affect chrome, it could be an extension in there that is doing this.

While its scanning, I'm currently considering what program I should use if I don't succeed in getting rid of this Trojan. Again, this appears to just be Chrome as I can use internet explorer, just nothing on the desktop thanks to the fact I cannot close Chrome at all.

Well, you can right click at the tool bar (the one where the windows start button is) and select the task manager and close google chrome from there.

Got it up. It shows Chrome 6 times :odd:

Do I just select "End task" for all of them?

Also you won't get rid of any virus/trojan etc even if you quarantined or delete them "if" you have a restore point "with" the virus/trojan in it. You have to first delete that restore point before you scan and destroy the virus/trojan.

Today was the first time this happened to me so I could back to a previous time before this happened.

Windows auto create restore points. Maybe it created a new one that has a virus in it. If you can't still get rid of them, just check your restore points and if you're saying you have a "clean" restore point then try restoring your PC to the time before you acquired that trojan/virus instead of cleaning it.

Can't seem to find anything on this. I can only find info on the one that locks up your whole screen and not the one that just locks up your browser.

If I still can't, I'll just restore it back to a point from a few days ago.

Well, if you need a new browser, I recommend opera. It is extremely similar to chrome, and it has a data saving feature in built. You could always give it a try whilst you are trying to kill the virus/trojan.

If you download "Windows Defender Offline" and run that off a USB instead of booting into your pc, it should be able to find if there is a trojan present. I managed to remove a UKASH virus that way and it was the only scanner that managed to find it

Just downloaded it onto my USB. Now what do I do?

Clear the usb of everything, move the windows defender somewhere else. Then, run that file and follow the instructions. When it asks for a cd or dvd or usb, select the usb you have got. It will install windows defender as a bootable drive (make sure you have another usb key for general files)

Then restart your pc, press F12 or F8 to enter the Boot menu, and when there use the arrow keys and enter key to boot to usb. From there, just follow the on screen instructions! ^^

So it turns out it wasn't a ransomlock trojan as I once thought (which I should've figured since it was just locked up chrome and not the whole computer).

From what I found, it appears to have been just a browser high jacker that throws up a fake blue screen (Similar to the one I had which had chrome locked on a fake virus protection site) . Since I haven't downloaded anything the last two weeks, it immediately had me reconsidering that it was a ransomlock trojan. I did notice that this appeared after I went to a video downloading site and as soon as I clicked "download", that appeared. I haven't seen it today after booting the HP up, which isn't what would happen with the ransomlock trojan.

Edit: Forgot to add that just like the last highjacker I had, it disguised itself as a Chrome extension.

@RACECAR, you already solved it. If you see it again then hard-power-down the machine, then ran a scan in safe mode on reboot. Normally to get past virus control on a PC some more clicks will be needed, just kill the process while it's fresh.
