Google Photo Map

I don't know about you guys but I get a lot of questions asking me "where did you take that photo?" and sometimes I wish there was an easier way to find and share new places to shoot. I've been messing with this idea for a while and now I have a feasible way to do this.

Using google maps I've made a custom map I'm going to be updating with little placemarks of where I've taken photos, I'm then going to give a brief description of the area as well as include a picture that I've taken there to give people an idea of what to expect. Now the great thing about all of this is I've enabled the map to be editable by anybody who has a google account (gmail, picasa etc.) so it won't be just me but anyone can share new locations!

here is a link to the map, I'll be updating it soon with more spots but in the meantime feel free to add your own spots! Let me know if you need any help with how to do something!

Erm, how do I add a spot?

I was wanting to add this, where the road goes through the trees. It's where I took the shots a few posts up from this one from.

1. Log into your google account (gmail, picassa etc.)
2. click the link to go to the map. on the left side bar hit the edit button.
3 Move the cursor to the appropriate location. If you want to dismiss this placemark, press the Escape key.
4 Click your mouse button to place your placemark. It should bounce into place.
5 Add a title and description. use html to post an image. For example, <img src="http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/images/maps_results_logo.gif" width=150 height=55> adds the Google Maps logo to your map with a width of 150 pixels and a height of 55 pixels.
6 You can also change the icon for your placemark by clicking the icon in the top right corner of the info window. You can also add your own icon.
7 Click OK to save your placemark.
