Iam currently starting GT3 over again and im in the Beginner League with two events to go. One is The Legend of The Silver Arrow race. Last time around I used the SLK Kompressor for this series but this time I will purchase the CLK 55. The CL 600 is gorgeous but I think the pwr/weight ratio is pretty bad and I would expect a little more from its 360hp V12. What do you prefer or what have you used for the Silver Arrow Race?

as i'm a huge mercedes benz fan, actually bought all of the benzes...
but i remember i used the clk 55 amg stock for that event.

the cl600 is a lil dissapointing with its 6 liter v12 and that output...

I went with your choice, as the award for the Beginner race, is the SLK Kompressor.

Yes, both very fun cars.

I've used both the Kompressor and the CLK55. The Kompressor needed a bit of help as I remember, but in the CLK I used stock power. I think I used the close-transmission, too.

I really love the Kompressor...it's very agile and not too heavy. In GT2 they had those heavy 4-door AMGs that could win races but took plenty of heavy-handed steering & brake work to control them!

i know, the benz cars in gt2 were til now the best!
U got the C43 amg, The 1999 E55 (MY FAVORTIE) and so on. that was just incredible...i think i'm gonna fire up gt2 again so i can get to the benzes again...
I cant acutally remember the sound of the cars:dopey:

I still have fond memories going up against the Ford GT40 in my black C43 in the Apricot Hill Enduro (GT2). My Benz had no weight reductions and sports tires so it really got a workout!! I think I spun only once or twice...but that's because I was showing off for the 2D crowd :D It cracks me up how the computer Benz & Astons always spin out in turn 2! :D

My all-time record at Seattle (for passenger cars without a race kit) was set in that same pimped-out C43 during an Arcade disc race. 1:31-ish.

Yeah those cars can get you through the series completely stock. I bought a semi-racing suspension kit for my CLK just for the tougth city courses.

...and the cheaters always say don't drive a Benz; they handle like pigs and they suck! Well how come Tony Soprano drives one?

Actually all of them have something of merit even stock like you said. I was always impressed by those 4-doors in GT2, which get 5-ish zero to 60 acceleration times. They're also equipped (in real life) with all sorts of stability & traction controls like ESP (electronic stability processing) that supposedly control wheelspin and keep the car stable. And when you drive a Benz in the game (4-doors or 2) you'll find they do handle way better than a car with similar weight (like a 60's era muscle car, for instance). That's pretty good attention to detail on Polyphony's part.
