Yep, it happened again. I have G.A.S. like no other. I'm trying to figure out what piece of gear I can sell or what body part I can live without in order to finance the purchase of this fine bass.

This is a MTD 535 with the following specs:
Burl myrtle top, swamp ash back
Maple neck, wenge fingerboard
Has the early, more powerful preamp
Serial #230
Made in Kingston, NY
Separate slotted per string bridge (direct pull - early bridge w/ individual pull pieces)
Excellent condition
This is a very collectable bass.

There is a guy that's dealing on this bass right now. If that deal doesn't go through, I may be forced to sell my first born. :nervous:

I don't think your wife will appreciate your selling her children for a guitar. :) I think you may need some of this to cure your G.A.S.:

Wow that's expensive but you know more about the stuff than I do and it seems like it's worth it if you can get the money. Do you have any old equipement you can sell to make some cash?
 
Well, I just got a quick email from him....says he's on vacation with his wife so Internet time is short, but he is definitely interested in my SM-900 amp so it sounds like a fair deal is in the future. I told him I would hold it until next week. This is perfect, he'll be gassing all week (while on vacation) about the SM-900....:) I know if I don't like it or find I need the money, I can turn that bass into cash pretty quick. To get a MTD 535 new, you talking about a 10 month wait, so yeah....

Will report back how the deal goes.
