Gr.3 Races getting boring

I dont know if anyone experience this online but if you race in the Gr.3 category and you have a beetle and you know the track very well, then you basicly win.
All best time trial laps are driven in freaken beetles. If you play online in a nonbeetle car vs 5 people with beetles that knows the track, you will lose. Even if you know the track very well. This car is overpowered and need to be downscaled asap.
I love to race in Gr.3 class but i dislike the beetle overdose in every lobby. Its almost like they are forcing me to use beetle vs other beetles or else I wont make a chance if the other beetle drivers are decent. Its very weird that this car isnt nerfed yet cause its clearly the first choice in Gr.3 of more then 85% of the people that play online (ofcourse, everyone wants the most overpowered car)
It kinda destroyes the game for me. Anyone else here thats getting anoyed about the beetle hype?

Fast car for sure, but me and my 4C get plenty of wins, often against Beetles and those pesky Porsche RSR's FIA and Lobby.

I've won against Beetles driving a Porsche and I've seen other people winning with Toyotas and Vipers for example. They're not faster per se but one thing they have that is quite an advantage is the tire wear and stability. You can basically push the car as if there's no tire wear because it doesn't lose as much traction as other cars.

The M6 for instance, is quite bad in that respect compared to the VW.

Last week I had the top1 time around Lake Maggiore with an M6 but was racing with the Beetle. Started on pole and it was easier to keep the same pace. With the BMW I would drop my race pace by a second a lap just because of the tire wear.

I think it's mostely a question of tire wear not being balanced than power. In real life cars have pretty much the same tire wear and pace. In GTS, not so much.

My suggestion: Race with the Bettle.

I know I won from beetles aswell, but mostly its cause they suck.
I mean the beetle is atm the only car that can drive below 1min30sec on dragon trail in timetrial.
There is no other car that can do this from the Gr.3 category and thats the point its to overpowered

Manufacturer's Cup, Gr.3 race last tuesday the top times were 1:36 or 1:37. No car can go around DT close to 1:30 with stock settings.

Than I have no idea what you're talking about because since update 1.05, all races are stock settings (over 1 week now). In Sport Mode ofc.

If you're talking about lobbies, that's a different story and you should clarify that on the thread title.

Without BoP limits and no restriction on setup, yes, some cars are way faster than others. Limit your lobby to BoP or wight and power. problem solved.

I was talking about ONLINE as in Online racing vs others and time trial with tuned cars from the Gr.3 class. without BoP, but yea BoP is a way to solve it i guess

Sport Mode is also online and every race has a dedicated TT. Lobbies don't. So you weren't clear enough, obviously. Now I guess it's clear, which makes it a non issue imo.

I prefer the regular cars more races tend to be cleaner...gr3 is a crashfest imo...

Ohh so that was why i saw a beetle in my last GR3 race, i ditched my Ferrari for the AMG because the Ferrari would eat its tires like kids with candy. Since i never compete for the 1st place, i usually pick the car i like to drive

Good to see someone else uses the AMG. I think I’ve only come across 1 or 2 others beside me using it in Dailies or FIA.

I don’t much like to drive cars that aren’t “real”. So generally when racing in Gr.3 I pick cars that I have actually seen race in f.ex Blancpain or other series.

I tend to switch around a bit though but lately have settled on the Z4 because it’s very predictable for me and it’s easy to maintain consistency in lap times. I’m usually not the fastest but I make up a lot of places by being conservative and not making any big mistakes.

I agree though that BoP should be continually patched and looked at. Dull to races with all Beetles and RSRs. So much more fun with a diverse field.

You know, I did just win the daily at Blue Moon Bay with a Beetle... I poled 9th.
