Gran Turismo 4 Online?

You may think it's a noob's question on how to do it, but instead, i'm going to try and answer it myself.

A friend pointed me to this utility. I haven't been able to test it since i don't have a hub, and he doesn't know anyone else with GT4 and a hub, so i'll just post it here. I don't know anything about it, i just know it's a possibility, and i wonder whether it works or not.

A few forum searches didn't reveal anything like this, so i think i'm the first with posting it, but as i'm still a noob i guess i'll be fingerslapped soon

Anyway, try it out and let me (us) know! It is on your own risk though, for some reason i need to add that comment :/

I'm just reading that Xlink doesn't really want to work very well. Maybe this one might be a better solution?

I'm in two minds.

The first is that there's already the ability to play GT4 online, via XLink.
The second is that two options are always better than one - and, as rightly pointed out, there seem to be a lot of reports about "issues" with XLink right now.

So, we'll keep this alive for now. Let us know how you progress, Chrome.

I'll try and get me a cheap hub some time tomorrow... Would be nice if someone in the Euro timezone could help me figure something out to make this work. I'll need a few people, to see if 6 player races might be possible.

I'll try a few things with 2 players with a friend first to see whether it works at all, we're both behind routers, so if we can work that out some more tests can be done.

Just because it works fine for you doesn't mean it works fine for everyone. The thread about it says it all, really.

Ok, just tried a few hours to get it to work - if you're behind a router on both ends it doesn't really help, so i'm giving up on this one

I won't lock the thread, maybe someone else might give this one a go.
