hey guys,

i am just wondering if there will be a game like GT4 Prolouge.....GT5 Prolouge, so we can actually test it again.

do you guys think there will such a thing like before?i would really look forward it

There's a slim chance, but remember PD wants GT5 done in 2007, they already have two other projects on, I don't see it happening. A GT5 is possible but GT4 was only given to us because the game was delayed so bloody long, they'll only do a GT5 if GT5 get's delayed to late 2008 or something.

Well, seeing as how we here North America never got any of the GT Concept or GT4 Prologue titles, I highly doubt we'd get any sort of early GT5 love, either, so I guess I don't really care.

I think the chance of a GT5 is rather slim, but a GT4: concept or similar is pretty clear as a PS3 debut release.

How is it clear that there will be a GT4 based game lauched with the PS3? Theres none, Vision GT is not a game, it's not a demo of a game, it's a vision of the future of Gran Turismo, that's all. People who are always reading stuff into things like this alway's end up dissapointed, look at the Ferrari's must be in GT4, they're on the GT4 bonus DVD argument. It means nothing until theres an announcment that say's otherwise.

yeah that's funny, I thought "oh the employees brought their cars to work".

I didn´t base my assumption on the VGT video, but reather the fact that GT series are the flagship on Playstation, so they should want to get a GT game for the release of PS3.

And considering the hype around the PS3, I would not be surprised at all.

Another thing to consider is the fact that I'm unaware of any game having the sequel worked on to the extent that GT5 has been before GT4 was even released.

Additionally, however Sony managed to do it, games for the PS 2 and 1 are compatible with the PS3. This may mean that either GT4 is quite compatible with the new physics engine of the PS3 or that GT4 was "downsampled" to run in the PS2. Remember the problems with screen flicker and some PS2s actually being ruined by GT4. Polyphony and Sony both are being very secretive about everything, but this time, there's more than a whisker's chance that we could have a Gran Turismo to play on our PS3s at release.

I know this is wishful thinking, but this time I don't think it's pie in the sky fantasy.

Prologue was so bad, it almsot made me not want to buy GT4...... I did though and thankfully it was a 1000 times better.

I am, it happens all the time, and as far as GT5 being worked on, all we know is that it had been worked on towards the end of GT4's development. That's not a huge ammount of info there.

I just found an article statin that sony stores started game preorders, and guess what........................Vision GT is one of them, I dont know what to say. If you could preorder it i guess it is going to be an actual game released in fall 2006. So I guess expect GT4 revamped!

No, they're just predicting what the next GT game will be called and when it will be released, and since Vision GT is the name being branded about that's the name they've decided to use, despite the fact Kaz has already said what Vision GT actually is, nothing more than a demo. Game's store's do it all the time with big game's when the official title hasn't been given yet. It's like before GTA: San Andreas was out many stores were taking pre-order's for GTA: NEXT or similarly made up title's, and I think we can safely say, it wasn't called GTA: NEXT.

Well, there are some indications that much of the work done on GT4 was really done on GT5 when Sony slipped the capacity of the PS3 to Polyphony early on. Kazunori might have "downcoded" GT4 for the PS2.

The info on this is very spotty, but there are some solid bits to go on, such as Kazunori-sama stating that he intended GT4 to be like a museum of racing history, and this was when the planning done on GT4 was undoubtedly finalized, and we got a much simpler, more traditional Gran Turismo. There are other things too, but I thought this was the most telling remark on what Gran Turismo 5 will be like.

If indeed GT4 was the stripped down GT5, then GT5 Concept and Vision GT/GT4.5 are essentially the same creature. We'll see in the coming months though.

Anyway, off to roleplay. I get to play a martial artist invading America in a parallel history, whee!
