Doesn't matter big or small, you shouldn't penalise anyone for not having internet.

Patches for issues maybe.
Patches for content no. They should put a disclaimer on the cover to say broadband required for offline content IMHO.

My internet went down for a couple of days So i went to play forza and i could not play the full game because I did not have the new update. I can only play arcade mode with none of my cars from career. So whats your point those people with no internet cannot get the new dlc cars from FM3 either. thats the bad thing about not having internet.

I'm sorry man I have not played the game so until I play it i cant give you feedback.

So arguments are still raging here because people who have the game (thieves) can't engage the brain long enough (seriously it would take a few minutes to check some of these things) to get the details that have been asked for 1000 times. Gotta laugh at the guy who gets GT5 and starts with Arcade mode.

i watched a video of option menu.
i saw in controller setup in configuration of buttons that you can assign a button for the whipers, very nice feature.
and he didn't find a physic option cuz he skip the first wheel icon where this option is sure there like in gt5p...

I actually like to start with Arcade mode to sample the tracks before I dive into the career part of GT. Makes for a nice "study" session before I attempt a test.

OK, people without internet wont have damage in there game.

Good move sony.

Actually I downloaded GTPrologue and if I'm offline it wont let me play.
Typical.

remember many ppl have asked the "theives" not to spoil anything so they probably wont write anything massive until the actual game comes out :P

@ dev please man you where right about the cockpit i will admit to that, other than that following your post over the last days you will not say anything positive when it comes to GT5, for some reason you seem to pop up only when negativity is around. You even posted a negative comment in the Positive thread.

You mean where I said that "perfected" wasn't really the right word to use about GT5? That's negative? I guess it might look that way if you are trying to keep your rose colored glasses clean, but seroiusly...

And yes I know you came clean on the cockpits, and that's a mature thing to do, but then you proceed to keep plowing ahead with the same type of reasoning that got you into that mess... it's one thing to own up to being wrong, but it diminishes it a lot if you don't also change your ways as a result.

Polyphony almost certainly going to release patches for this game. It would be absurd for them to release it and then ignore it forever. Yeah there will be people who will not be able to get the updates, but that is not PDs problem, that is theirs. Most PS3 owners have their system connected to the internet.

Exactly my point with you. Explain to me whats so crazy about that those photos they look amazing, and I bet he is not a photo mode specialist like some of the people we have on GTP. When they get the game in their hands expect the best photos than any racing game has to deliver.

While I agree with you, I must remind you that GTA IV needed a patch to have trophies working. I actually went through the story mode until I found that out, then I started the game all over again.

It's kind of different than not having internet at all... without internet at all your game wouldn't have even known there was an update to get and kept functioning as normal.

That sait it does seem like a bad call to enforce an update for offline play... hadn't heard of that for Forza...

People are saying around here that the full damage is being held back until Sony sends out a code to unlock it in all its glory.

While that would be a relief to me, what about people who aren't on the net?

You know if GT5 had 1000 premium cars and 100 tracks, some on here would then complain their isn't 2000 premium cars and 200 tracks.

Fortunately when GT5 is released we shall be enjoying GT5 whilst people like Dev will continue moaning on here.

Not everyone has Xbox360 with live? That didn't stop making loads of dlc to forza...

DLC != Patch unlocking features that is included with the game.

Again, not everyone is connected to the internet. Period. It's that simple.

Media Molecule even delayed LBP2 to make sure the game wouldn't need a patch on release day like the previous game.

If PD had ever hinted at or implied there would be 2000 premium cars and 200 tracks then yes I am sure there would be complaints...

People probably would'nt have ridden Dan Greenwalts butt so hard if he hadn't said the in game models were the same as lobby models.

Point?

 what about people trying to go to options in GT LIFE mode have we seen that yet?

OK, people without internet wont have damage in there game.

Your fibbing only thing you cant do is play online and watch GT-TV you can play arcade mode and beat the game still please try again.

it's amazinng how graphics don't matter in a sim until gt5 has the most awesomme graphics ever.... Then they are good enough to give a 9/10

boy that would screw the large part of the world who doesn't have broadband over pretty bad wouldn't it?

You never give up do you?

Please enlighten us on your inside knowledge of creating this damage system... Or are we just assuming that if pd didn't do it, it must be mindblowingly hard to do?

What happened to 18mp?

Starting off with slow cars that can't destroy themselves in one crash on short races at low speed maybe?

Or maybe a damage slider or options to reduce damage?

I would love to see a timeline of posts around here... Go back a few years and people were laughing it up at forza because gt5 was gonna be 1000 cars all better looking the gt5p with damage that would put burnout to shame on all the tracks you have ever seen in any gt game and then some and everything else you could imagine you ever wantned and it would be perfect because kaz is a perfectionist and it would be worth any wait becuaes of how awesome it all was, you just wait and see!

And all that stuff becomes less or more important depending on what extent it turns out to be true...

Graphics aren't important when standard cars look bad, but when photomode looks sweet on premiums graphics are what it's about!

Forza's crappy canned damage system is pathetic, but then when gt5 doesn't have much damage, damage isn't important anyway.

It really does get layed on thick around here...

+10

My Crazy was about how he could tell the physics were amazing from a pic.
Go back and read what he said.

You have mentioned yourself, wait till you play it. Now it's you can tell the physics by photomode.

Photomode is second to none in this game, really top notch. Its not that good I can tell the physics from it though.

This damage patch theory is the most ridiculous and desperate rumor I've heard all year, you guys will come up with anything to try and justify what looks like a slightly sub-par damage model. You just can't bear to face the facts and accept what your own eyes are telling you, can you? I'll make sure to tease people about it after the games release.

Also lol@photo mode specialist. These things are dumbed down beyond needing to know anything about photography whatsoever. All you need is a keen eye.

WOW since I logged off from here a few hours ago the arguing has gotten worse. Ill sit back and watch while you guys arue amongst yourselves.

Sorry ur rite, but i mis wrote my post. what i meant to say was that it shows that he doesnt only focus on physics, but also on brilliant grfx. sorry for the mis understanding :P

Kaz is the God in these forums and if he says that the damage will be the most realistic, then it must be so. You cannot question that....lol:sly:

I haven't read the last few pages, but I'll just give my 2 cents.

If it makes profit, Sony wouldn't give a rat's ass whether the few people without internet will get the update or not. Majority has internet = Sony will make profit = minority ignored.

For a company like Sony, there's no reason why they wont upload a patch because of internet availability (unless of course if majority of the customers aren't connected to the internet). And if the reason why Sony wouldn't use the internet for a critical update is because it's "unfair", it's simply not enough.
