Gran Turismo 5 seems fun, but...

it just seems that it's the only good racing game on the PS3 besides that off-road one. I mean, i've looked at the XBOX 360, and they have project gotham racing 3, test drive unlimited, and ridge racer six. Will any of these be on PS3? I mean, i've been a playstation fan since the beginning, but it seems that gt5 < test drive unlimited, pgr 3, ridge racer 6, and an earlier relase date; sorry to sound pessimistic, but it just seems that xbox 360 dominates in racing

The PS3's not due out this year unlike the XB360, believe me, we'll be hearing a whole lot more about PS3 games in a few months. Ofcourse you'll hear about far more on the XB360, it's out soon, the PS3 isn't.

Come back in a year and a half and tell us if that's true or not.

The Xbox 360 is coming out this month, so there's going to be a lot more 360 games getting publicity than the PS3 games. When it's March, everyone will be focusing on the PS3 games.

I was about to say the exact same thing, copy and paste even

jeez, sorry! lighten up, guys; i'm just trying to get some solid info. do you honestly think i, or anyone for that matter would want to "incite a riot?" i just want to know some facts, that's all

as far as PS3 & XB360 & PSP.. you'll see A LOT more on all 3 systems, because the game-makers want to open themselves to more profits.. forza & gran turismo could probably be of the few that are sony/microsoft only platforms..

Very strange indeed, you seem to be knowing a good deal more on GT5 than any of us here. While the only things we've seen are 2 finished car models and a cheering pit crew, you know enough about it to claim that PGR3, RR6 and TT:U will outperform the game.

First of all, none of these games are comparable to GT5, all arcade, and GT5 obviously isn't. Secondly, if you remember PS1 and 2, you should know the PS brand never lacks in the racing department. It's still a long way untill launch, I'd be surpised if in those 6 (or something) months not a single other race game gets confirmed (if not a lot more). I should think PS3 will get its fair share of NFS's, Burnouts, Ridge Racers, Colin McRae's, WRC's, a brand new GT, Motorstorm, who knows even a new Enthusia. No need to worry about race games.

I'd say it'll be the other way round. It's not going to be easy to port games from one system to the other, the PS3 and XB360 have vastly different architecture and will need programming in different ways to get decentlevels of performance from each machine. We'll still see cross platform series like Ridge race, Fifa ect, but the games won't be the same.

Very true ideed and you left out the F1-games :sly:

I mentioned in an old thread about what two G4 Video Game TV hosts, Tommy Tallarico and Victor Lucas, said about the XBOX360 being released much earlier than the PS3. There are a good number of racing game projects for future XBOX360 customers, but give the PS3 a chance in terms of racing games. It's obvious Gran Turismo 5 isn't going to be the only racing game for the PS3. I'm sure more oppurtunities will open up. Hell, even mediocre racing game projects may come up for the PS3. Like I said, it's too early.

Now, if you mean in terms of GT5 vs. what others will look to create, then that's a different story because we don't know what all GT5 has to offer. Speculate until your eyes fall out, if we don't know at least 75% of what the next game has to offer, it will give other companies a chance to try to better PD. To me, the best game to challenge the GT series was Forza Motorsport. Even I handed the devil its dues. I usually said that the "Better than Gran Turismo 4" deal by EGM was a bunch of hullabaloo. But, Forza and GT4 are basically the two top games in the console sim racing "segment." The chances of maybe some other game trying to top GT5 that is a console sim racing game (meaning, no Burnout-type games trying to edge out the real racing games) is pretty slim.

Again, there aren't too many racing games except for games which happen to be multi-platform. This shouldn't be too much of a problem. Give it a little more time, maybe we'll see a good number of games to be released, even if it means a few juicy tidbits at next year's E3.
