After seeing the new GT5 footage, do you think the graphics have been improved? (compared to GT5:P) The anit-alising and the numerous graphical problems of GT5:5 seems to be gone. My net's too slow to see the videos in HD and HQ so I'm not sure. What do you think?

I dont think grapics have improved - the grass looks a better, more realistic colour and the sounds are way better, but how can we expect a massive improvement anyway? - its still the same PS3 which is used - PD have not found a secret additional graphic card tucked away within the machine they can tap into.

it has improved alot! In the prolouge the cars edges wasent rly so smooth, it is now, and the anialiasing has been improved, if you try the academy aswell as the prolouge the academy got better graphics and with the last new gameplay footages it seems like it have improved from the academy aswell

you say that you think they pushed the PS3 to the limit with GT5:P??? 0.o

I just hope the franerate issues from Prologue are gone as that was really annoying.

It's difficult to tell about the graphics from all these video clips. If I was to hazard a guess I would say that Prologue doesn't use the full power of the PS3. Think about games like Uncharted and Uncharted 2. There are videos about those games where they show they have learnt new ways to use the cell processor to add more to the game and I would think the same goes for GT5. But with improved AI and all the added bits and pieces you might be able to add to the cars it may mean overall the quality stays the same but with more content.

uncharted 2 does look awesome but until we see the game on our TV's in full HD its realy hard to comments aye it?

There's a buzz now about GT5 in the air - the next few months are going to be great!!!

Well Kaz did say they have increased the poly count of the cars. So they definitely look better than GT5P.
Fuji looks to have better lighting and better grass detail, everything else looks pretty much the same.

But they now have more ram to play with and half a extra spu from when gt5p was released, not too mention that since then they have a lot of time to work on the engine and the edge tools have improved.

That's exactly what I was thinking. By-the-way will the anit-alising and unsmooth edges go away from GT5:P if I played the game in 720p instead of full 1080 HD?

I dont know if you guys notice this but the replays in the videos in GT5 seemed to run at a stable 30 frames per second while GT5 Prologue's replays dip here and there sometimes.

The edges of the cars and the shadows in GT5:P were a bit rough, smooth in some areas, not in others.

Now in these replays, they look fantastic, so definitely, the graphics being displayed are a lot better. The performance is a lot better since I've noticed no dips, unlike in GT5:P. Graphics overall have been given a boost.

Uncharted 2, as incredible as it looks, runs at 30FPS (half the frame-rate) and at a lower resolution.

I think Fuji has seen some real environmental improvements, but the incredibly jaggied selfshadowing in the replays is still there (on cars that are a bit further away), maybe they should try to fade them in or something when the shadowmap gets a bit larger.

^Couldn't agree more, the shadows on the cars (especially the interiors) are ruining an otherwise impeccable look.

Poly count does not equal good graphics. It just tells you how much detail the models potentially have, and how smooth the curves are.

I can't tell from the low quality video that's been recorded lately and the demo seemed worse (although it is compressed) than I remember GT5P being, so I voted no.

I would add "apparently, a little bit" to the options, bit I voted for "yes", the graphics seem better, especially the shadows.

With the inclusion of the "Flicker Reduction" option i would have to say yes, at least on my tv (comparing TT to GT5P). I'm sure GT5 will be on bar with the TT AAwise.
