Now, I am not sure if I should make a new thread, but whatever I have.
When I first saw the trailer for GT6 in June of 2013, I was sold. I was thinking "GT5 but better!"
I played the demo and again I was sold. I said to my parents "GT6 for Christmas", nothing else.
(note: I played GT5 for a year and loved it)
However, in September in 2013 my PS3 died and I begged for a new one for Christmas.
Months passed and Christmas came and went. I enjoyed GT6 when I first got it and now the shine is gone. I was given the "Anniversary Edition", which in Australia gave 20 special cars and stuff.
It was $115. (a bit of money, when not all of the features are included at launch!)
I now no longer have fun in GT6, hoping for a new update with damage and tyre/fuel deplection offline and new content. My parents tell me to wait but I am skeptical that it will ever happen.
Today, I pulled out my copy of GT5, downloaded all the DLC and I have had more fun than I've had in GT6.
I don't what to tell my parents and I have no idea what to do. (i still want to have a copy of GT6 in case a decent update will happen)
To all of the friendly people of GTPlanet, please help!
Also, if anything emotionally has happened to you, go ahead and post!

Similar story for me, I've gone back to racing online in GT5 because GT6 has no Shuffle. The graphics on GT5 are better as well imo, because it has less jaggies/flickering/shimmering. My advice is this: don't stress out about it, enjoy GT5, it's a great game, but keep your copy of GT6 because it will be updated at some point in the future & you will likely want to play it again then. Your parents advice is good, just be patient.

thank you mate, god I love how there are some nice people in this world, like yourself :)

VBR's right (and your parents for that matter). Hang on to it for when it does get better.

GT5 servers are closing in May so GT6 will (should) get more attention after that I reckon.

If something good hasn't happened to GT6 by say August (big update/new feature/track) then that may be cause for alarm.

For now though enjoy GT5 and remember that it took a while before it became what it is now. :)

I got the Anniversary Edition I payed $110 and I pre-ordered it and thinking it was going to be lot better than GT5 but I found that the graphics and the game play is shocking on GT6 so after a couple of months of playing but only about 1 or maybe 2 hours a day so I have gone back to GT5 because I like the graphics and the way GT5 was set out through out the whole game I might stay on 5 for many months until PD gets GT6 right with a full game and but the way the game is going I may never return to GT6 but you never know. I just want enjoyment in the game GT6 has not got that but GT5 has got that enjoyment in the game.

It made me sort of pissed off with myself because I fell victim to hype and purchased a half arsed game for £35.00 which is money I could have spent on project cars if it is any good after release. But it also introduced me to GTP because I found it to be a good place to discuss the game (and other games/things).

I wish I could go back to GT5 TBH, I sold it before I wasted £60 on GT6. If the online services for GT5 would have been kept in place for a couple more years I would seriously consider selling GT6, using part of the cash to get GT5 again and the rest to buy a huge post-it note for my wall saying 'GT7......hell no'.

I had alot of fun with GT6.... for like a month.
Sadly, due to PD being very "quiet" and not that much of updates been happening to the game, i got bored and stopped playing for a while.
It isn't a bad game. It's just... you know what? I think GT2 or GT3 are still worth playing, even if GT2 is by far the most incomplete and broken of the series.

GT5 is available for "peanuts" in the used games section in Gamestation 5/10 quid at most

I would put into my wall: 'GT7.......it's better to wait an year or 2'

You can pick up a pre-owned copy on ebay for next to nothing, see here.

You know what, I agree.

I'm really disappointed in where GT is going I too put scarce money aside for GT6 in the believe that it would have B-spec the GPS and course builder.. we were promised lots the hype looked great.

I got it home popped it in and started to look for the course builder.. oh that will be an update.. okay I thought.. lets play. What I got was annoying pop ups followed by gameplay that made me embarrassed I quickly found that racing in GT6 is not racing at all that getting money was a matter of simply driving round ..even in underpowered cars as it would always allow you to catch up on the last lap! not only that the cars were so painfully dumb that even if I brake very early they still outbrake me and I ended up having to swerve.

As time passes and I have completed GT6 a few times I find my mind wandering back to GT4 and how brilliant that was, and them my mind came back to GT5, I didn't have the heart to play it.. I get that kind of feeling when you feel you have been ripped off, GT isn't going anywhere ..frankly GT6 isn't even prettier.

I used to invite my mate round for GT marathons ..but he's gone and got himself a X-Box and plays Forza which at least is a great racer, I'm too embarrassed to show him GT6 really I am.. he would laugh at the dumb AO and the sad ease which you can wins races. I think in the WHOLE game it was only the 125 shifters that gave me a headache!!

I'm back at a point where I feel like just not bothering with GT anymore, the hype is meaningless, and sadest of all in a few years when they switch off the GT6 servers, we will be left with the game we have on disk, a sad limp lettuce of a game .. I am seriously considering getting my PS2 CD rail fixed and going back to GT4.

I played GT1 the other day.. it was fantastic to actually have to race flat out again even if they did smash into me ..lol !!

I've gone back to GT5. I liked just maxing out my credits and making realistic hybrids and doing the career mode races.

Nothing has changed for me, really. Now I just binge daily on GT6 rather than GT5. :D

I was ecstatic when I received my disc already on the 4th of December ... then I played it for 3 weeks ...
And I got bored with it ... bought December special AC4BF with upgrade to PS4 ... played it to 100% ....
went back to GT6 ... nothing new ... now back to GT5 for a few weeks ... trying to plat it .... just love it !

Yeah you should hold on to GT6 ... GT5 took 11 months to upgrade to V2.0 so prepare to wait just that little bit longer ... but indeed it is a horrible task ...

Enjoy!
