Extremely underwhelming update just like a majority of the updates and the core game itself are, it's like Kaz/PD are keeping the core launch experience intact, no one does it like them, wow!🙎‍♂️

One would think after 7.5 years of this update format through 2 games, people might stop tossing around 'the royal we' so freely still. But I digress...

Interested to see what else this brings, personally I'd like some new pavement that can be actually raced on, but only time will tell.

I have no idea how you all guess these silhouettes, good job! I just saw a few shapes and thought, "That's probably not a Daewoo Lanos".

Looking forward to throwing them all around some tracks, hopefully a new location soon! That track modelling video from PD's presentation at SIGGRAPH 2023 is still stirring in the back of my mind... why did they show the pineapples and banana leaves? Where are we going, and when?

I'm in the camp of GT8 being a 2027 release for PS5/PC and maybe PS6 if it launches that year. There's a couple of factors making me lean towards this.

  • 2027 is the 30th anniversary year. Promote synergy like a boss.
  • All GT games have a limited time period for real world car licencing. Sony will pull GT7 from digital stores in about 6.5 to 7 years (2029-ish). This also ties into why I think the PC port for GT7 was rumoured to be shelved.

I do think GT8 will have some good gameplay improvements over GT7, because the PS4 and its baby CPU cores are holding it back. And GT8 will get a PC port at launch because it'll make money and it's a live service game.

And I'm certain PD are holding cars back for GT8.

If they really wanted to fix the game all they'd have to do is end boost and 97% throttle, implement side by side rolling starts or grid starts (this they have done in at least one race I've done recently). This doesn't require any more cars or tracks. For them to leave the one player game in the no racing in a race game state is because they want it that way. Questions must be asked of Kaz should the opportunity arise.

Predictions:
No new track
CX-30 gets 787B engine swap
No engine swap for Unimog
Z4 gets its Gr.3 engine swap
Aston Martin menu book (DB5, new Vantage, and Valkyrie or One-77)
3 new races that will be 2 Sunday cups and a WTC 600
and finally…
Le Mans and GR.1 cars continue to lose handling and top speed making the 2016 GT500 cars the fastest group race cars in the game

The Renault Kangoo is a great addition because people actually modify them and take them out onto the track. Misha Charoudin has driven a few around the Nurburgring and they're fantastic little things. Moreover, a lot of them are converted to accommodate a wheelchair and I very much remember seeing one parked outside when I used to go to YDAS. In fact one of my closest friends who's in a wheelchair has one. I think. Can't get that sort of connection with a hypercar... So Kaz, when will you add in the T5 VW Caravelle?

A Renault Kangoo being added to GT7? Count me in to tune it into a race car, I think I'm gonna enjoy this!

Never heard of a Renault Kangoo but then again last month I had never heard of a Mercedes-Benz Unimog either! I love the customization of the Unimog (enough to buy and create 10 different liveries) and can’t wait to see what the Kangoo has available 😃 Also the Aston will be a blast for Euro Clubman Cup races and the CX-30, well it’ll probably keep the CH-R and Ioniq company in the back of my garage 😆

One of the biggest gatherings of Renault Kangoo owners is in Japan. Its an interesting look into how Japanese car culture affects some of the cars in GT beyond the japanese car list.

It could be worse, they could be adding the electric version of the Kangoo. I work for a van rental company and we have loads sitting about - no one wants them, they’re useless.

PDI really want to throw the PS4 in the trash. GT8 is not far away. Mark my words 😎
At this point I'd be fine with them ditching GT7 all together on both platforms. Time and time again PD show little interesting in actually improving this title. When was the last time we had any sort of major QoL update? Back when Spec II was released... 15 Months ago.

PD now are seemingly stuck in this loop of dangling a couple drip-fed freebies in our faces every month. I WANT ENGINE SELLING ALREADY, Kaz! :banghead:
