As someone who pretty much only plays custom races, having Sophy as an option will be interesting.

I'm not even upset about the Kangoo. Like, it's not something that I'll be using often, but seeing how it has sort of a cult following in Japan, I can at least get why it's being added.

That random ass, soulless Mazda, on the other hand, can be thrown off the nearest cliff along with the CH-R.

in what world is this CX-30 a "cool" addition to the game? If it was an AWD model, and had the turbo engine option, then it would at least have potential. But base spec FWD? PD just sticking fans in the eye again.
I don't know a lot about the cars they choose to include in the game, but I feel like this one is part of a business deal with Mazda. Not necessarily pay to play, but part of a larger deal in licensing .

Rolling starts only...

It's better than nothing for sure but darn.
Theufcveteran : I am absolutely never ever ever going to touch my Gran Turismo Integrale career again
PD : We're adding Sophy to Custom Races.

PS: The trailer is out everybody... no not that trailer, this trailer

Sophy in Custom Races is very much unexpected but very welcome. I only hope she doesn't drive slow as it has been doing it in quick races after you pass her. I never understood why she lifts up once you go past.
Never been a fan of the Sophy AI in the game when I choose to run it. Always slow, and really doesn't do race lines very good either.

But base spec FWD?
Just in fairness, it's not exactly base-spec.

In that year it'd be the top-spec engine in Japan: 2.0 e-SkyActiv X, with 188hp; other options were the 1.8 diesel with 128hp and the 2.0 petrol with 154hp. The X only came with AWD on the L Package and Black Tone special edition (both with FWD also available, and FWD/AWD on both other engines too).

Trims were base (¥2,392,500 for 20S), Proactive (¥2,612,500 for 20S), and L Package (¥2,794,000 for 20S), with the Black Tone special edition at ¥2,662,000 (for 20S). AWD on each added ¥236,500, Diesel on each - except base, which didn't have the option - added ¥275,000, while SkyActiv-X added around ¥400,000 (slightly different depending on trim).

Smart was only available with the X engine and FWD, priced at ¥2,887,500, so basically above base and below Proactive and quite mid-range really.

Unfortunately its USP was a bunch of optional extra safety aids - Active Driving Display, Smart Brake Support (SBS), High Beam Control System (HBC), Lane Keep Assist System (LAS), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) - which is mostly completely irrelevant in this context.

Some of those would be useful to Sport players when it's used there.

And in fairness of all the quirky my first cars that would pay homage to the Demio etc like the Adam, the Corsa, even ST Line Kuga or 118d etc

I don’t think spec is the main frustration with its inclusion, more the lack of races, category of similar cars, desire ability, potential to become a classic or icon or a defining car of the time. At the expense of other cars that are more appropriate is the main issue.

I would have preferred the Syclone instead of the SSR, but we get what we’re given.

I’m not doubting that, we are beholden to them and what they want. But it’s ok to be constructively disappointed with no sports mode improvements and questionably weird/brand placement over actual user value cars

Like a “throw it in, why not” sorta thing, yeah.

Again, a false dichotomy.

We have no evidence whatsoever to suppose that PD is making more cars than we are getting, and that the cars we are getting are coming instead of other cars. The modelling pipeline is not running at the supposed peak capacity (60/year - or 5/month), presumably because things only go in when they're licensed (PD's been bitten before by modelling stuff and then having licensing rear its head), and the flow rate is about where it's been since GT Sport launched at around 3 cars a month - a little higher after the decimal point earlier on, a little lower more recently - and we've tended to get almost doubles (5/6/7) after skipped months... but not always.

It's best to assume that we're getting what we get when it's ready (like Yamauchi said a couple of years ago) and nothing is coming instead of something else. I find it more enjoyable that way, but I'm definitely not going to be driving the CX-30 outside of Thursday and its inevitable Time Trial.

Wait, so boost off increases the rubberbanding then? What should be the setting to fully disable it
Boost Off has no rubber banding if the AI is behind I don’t think. But they slow down considerably (like hugely) if you are a long way behind.

If you sit at Spa’s start (non-24hr) and the AI gets to the Kemmel straight, in Super Formula cars at least they will be maxing out at like 148 mph.

Boost Weak removes this for the most part. If you’re too far behind the AI will slow generally, but not an enormous amount. They will speed up again if you get close.

Boost Strong is strange, anecdotally it seems like it activates when the opponent is further behind so the races are not as close.

From my experience you can get good racing with Boost Weak and 97/96% ECU/power restrictor percentage.

I have to disagree, we have the leaked lists which have born out to be a mix of wish list and production pipe line as sequencing or internal desire wants with the release schedule. So respectfully it’s not a false dichotomy rather a fluid delivery and availability schedule.

What we do have in evidence is a couple of car lists that have a fairly strong hit rate from launch including some really odd ball stuff being accurate.

What we also have is the ability to deliver newer spec models of cars in to the game when they desire/availability/time etc lines up.

I understand what you are saying, I just don’t quite look at what history has told us through the same lens when being disappointed in the here and now.

Oh, not down playing your view. I’m more glad it’s not yet another 4WD. Even though it’s yet another hatchback(still waiting for the first FF four door sedan to be featured in this game). At least PD seem to be ramping up the FF side of drivetrains.

As for brand placement, wait til we get this:

The datamined lists don't confer any kind of production schedule; a significant number of cars on there are leftover data from older titles. Additionally, the number of cars from the various lists subsequently making their way into the game has leaned out considerably over the last couple of year.

The rate of vehicle addition between the end of GT Sport's updates and the start of GT7's was also within a decimal place of the rate added during Sport and during GT7 - again, a little slower recently, but not even a whole integer out yet:

It all suggests that the pipeline is working at relatively constant rate and we're getting the three cars that are ready each month each month. Although I have been made aware of some small deviations to that.

Tracks are getting hella slow though. It'll be a record gap next month if we don't get one :|

I know Andrew, I’m not trying to argue the schedule of inclusion just that some of the inclusions are “polarising” to be fair and that we are slowly getting both the pre/post production “wish list” cars in one form or another where possible. Then the inclusion of some really awesome cars like the 205 as a standout of hitting the mark.

Being cynical though neither the Toyota Chris or Mazda CX30 are in the same league either at launch or will be decades later than say the 205. That was more my latent point, my main point will always be cars, tracks aside just some sports mode love would be really really appreciated is all.

It’s a semi biased view as that’s 99% of my time but that’s a considerable amount of time

Agreed that it's a disappointment for our F1-style custom races. It's good that we can at least minimize the rolling start interval. Personally, I've never minded the rolling starts - it's the rolling starts coupled with the obnoxious 40-second gaps to the leader.
For sure, I feel the same. It's not bad at all for the racing but I do like me a grid start. Maybe it will be enabled in the live update, we can hope!

Integrale Final FINAL v3 USE THIS ONE NOW SUPER FINAL THE END.pdf

If they fix the throttle and tyre issue (assuming it's not a visual bug only) it will make things easier to jump into the most competitive custom races which will be good, no fiddling around with anything.

The 205 was pretty polarising too - remember the "mom car" guy?

He wasn't alone either. A load of people (many, but not exclusively, and also not uniformly, outside of Europe) just didn't get why this slow FWD hatchback was being added "instead of" [their Voiture du Jour].

You're not going to please all the people all the time, but I saw as many comments from randos about wanting to razz the C-HR because their mum/dad had one as I did expressions of uGh WhErE's KuNgInSeK (because spelling Koenigsegg is hard even when you really, really obsess over the brand being in a racing game) - although more tilted towards the latter (better spelled) and GT3/LMH cars from GT streamers. It's a car people can relate to (the CX-30 I assume will fit into this bracket too), and among the seven-figures of GT players who aren't on GTPlanet, it has some draw.

Again, don't mistake this for me saying you should take it and like it - unlike that guy who thinks if you don't like what he likes you're lying to yourself, I know that we all like different things - just that I don't think your options are CX-30 or something else, but CX-30 or nothing.

Although it may be functionally nothing (except a shadow in your Car Collection) if you're not ever using it.
