Told you so. I'm not even going to bother booting this game anymore. I'm all against the "Monthly Active Users" metric. For all I know, the entire "passion for cars and racing" has been totally replaced by metrics and keeping the stakeholders happy. Which makes things worse because they are not even trying to milk this huge cow in a better way. So much wasted potential. For gamers, for enthusiasts, for stakeholders, for the brand itself.
Sales are what dictates the success of a game, not monthly active users.

Not sure why you bother posting in this forum then. I, for once, am quite happy with all cars in this update.

on a console where there is a paying option to play online, it is not 100% true though.

...so you'll be done posting about the game then?

The update would be pretty much the same as every other update over the last THREE YEARS? Wow! Nostradamus has nothing on your keen ability to see the future.

We are the stakeholders.

I don't know if you pay attention to the broader world of game development, or the business of games, but it's currently a BLOOD BATH for employment and absolute carnage when it comes to projects and games. Some HUGE budget games have barely survived a month.

Among this horrendous time in videogames, here we are THREE YEARS after launch. I'd say, based on the "Monthly Active Users" and the daily active users, Sony and the team are making the correct choices. They aren't perfect, but I keep coming back for more.

You're not going to bother booting the game? Ok, well, I'm busy trying to get my DR rating back up and I play almost daily. Who do you think will be missed more? People like me, or people like you?

I often wonder about comments like this. What wasted potential is there? A game that is enjoyed by millions of people will, by definition, be imperfect to each individual. I have my criticisms of this game, sure, we all do, but your comments stink of entitlement.

I will wager that while you complain about all that YOU have not gotten that YOU want, you probably haven't bother to explore the vast majority of the game. Where's your photos? Where's you liveries? How's your Sport Mode ranking? Did you even bother to finish the career? Or the licenses? Or the missions? Or the circuit experience?

And, again, I feel this needs repeating, the rest of us are still playing THREE YEARS post launch.

Now that the games been out a while, the game needs something like a second season, opening up new levels 51-100, bringing in new career events, 2-4 hours endurance races, championships, events especially for historic cars (those cars that a currently useless), going back to GT1 there needs to be something mysterious event or video that teases GT8 that unlocks upon reaching level 100.
We desperately need more options or customizable parameters in single player. Like after all the 39 menu books we can change every rule in the game, or after unlocking level 50 we can change every parameter/rule in any event. Or make it a DLC! I would pay for it!

Do you want track updates or "the original GT"? Because the original GT was just a game on a disc and you were either happy with that, or put it away and played something else. No complaining about free updates not being to your liking. Besides, no kind of track update will turn this game into an old school GT and you know that.

And if you take any statement by Kaz or PD as such a promise, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, that's on you.
I want the 'original' GT rules in GT3 but in GT7 graphics & sound. Should be optional.

The fact the responses under his posts were overwhelmingly positive and constructive didn't really matter in the end

IMHO quite a sad state of affairs when as a game developer you can't be open to the most positive feedback possible without fearing for your job

If I talked about my job and the inner workings of the company I work for like he did I would be fired on the spot.
I think he got a bit carried away because he liked the attention.
You just can’t talk the way he did “I’m the only one who cares” as an employee or contractor.
Unless you own the company you best stay put.
Portraying oneself as a sort of Gran Turismo Robin Hood was a bit embarrassing honestly.

I just know the things he wrote that have been posted here and IMO there's nothing embarrassing about this. The world needs more people who speak up if they're not happy how things are going.

Found this interesting. It's a clip, so the video doesn't show up as a preview. But the link seems to work fine.
It relates to tracks.

You already paid for the game, though. You’re willing to pay more because the game design sucks? Wow, ok.

Right, but then he should speak up to his superiors, not randoms on reddit.
It's really simple, that's nothing to do with free speech or anything, but you can't undermine your employers' official communication as a 3d artist.

He wouldn't want the PR people to meddle in his job, either. It's just unprofessional to overstep your responsibilities, although I don't think he deserves to be fired and I don't think that's the reason. Probably got a stern talking to.

I hoped that some changes in comunication with the players is happening...guess not.

What has written in that post, if PD would only make some QOL improvements and better use resources that are already in the game without any new assets that would be a huge step forward.

Looks like some ppl are so frustrated about the current state of the game that they would be willing to pay again to get a better product. And guess what? I would pay for this also!
And don't get me wrong here, I don't say "The game sucks". I paid €70 for GT7 and I clocked in 1600+ hours and it was worth every penny. But the longer you play the more you see things that are not that great and could be better. So yes, I would absolutely pay again to overcome those things and get an even better game!

I don't know man. I have a lot of experience with things like that myself. Yeah, sure, you talk to your superiors and they usually tell you they understand and things will change, but then nothing happens and you get frustrated.

But whatever, the guy is an adult and I'm sure he was aware that his actions may have consequences. Was what he did "unprofessional"? Well, maybe. But I also think that a company, that absolutely refuses to communicate with their customers in any way, is also "unprofessional".

It’s the companies choice. Absolutely not his call to make.
There is no law requesting companies to be communicative.
There are however contracts and NDAs for employees and contractors..

Unfortunately companies (speciales Tech related corporations) are really sensitive about what the employees do outside the usual work schedule (15 years on a high tech company as employee have been really educational about that lol)

To each his own, but for me the solution was to look elsewhere and I'm telling you, getting a PC was like an awakening, and I've hardly touched GT7 since, except for a few occasions when an update I find sort of interesting arrives. Now, I get that a gaming PC can be quite expensive, but a lot of the games/sims I'm talking about doesn't need a high-end one to run well. You don't need a wheel for any of 'em either. Both RaceRoom and Assetto Corsa plays great with a controller for example. Also, if you tend to be nostalgic at times, you can install emulators and relive the "golden age" of Gran Turismo in upscaled graphics. Sorry for going slightly off-topic, but it's easy to paint oneself into a corner, I did too for years, hoping things would improve, but they didn't, and I'll be chocked if GT8 is much different whenever it arrives.
