Hello to all of you!!

I'm a long time GT fan and I pre ordered GT7 25 anniversary edition. I'm currently planning on playing it on the ps4 base console and I would like to know what you think about it.
Now I'm thinking in upgrading for the ps4 pro because it is significantl less expensive than the ps5, a console that I currently can't afford, so I thought that maybe the ps4 pro will be a considerable step up from the base console. I would like to know what you guys think, is it worth upgranding or should I wait and buy a PS5?

PS: I know there is not currently that much information about both ps4 and ps4 pro version, at least I didn't find much information about them.

There. You answered your own question.

That’s a tough one my friend…you already have a PS4 so you can play GT7 but you wouldn’t be getting the best out of the game. I can see why you want a pro.. I would prob just save for a PS5 and wait because if you buy a pro are you going to buy another system? Good luck though

The only difference I remember from GT Sport with a PRO is that it has a bit more stable fps, motion blur during gameplay and the ability of running replays at 60fps ONLY in performance mode. It gives you the option to choose between performance and quality mode.

Personally? I wouldn't waste the money unless you're not planning to buy a PS5 when you able to get your hands on one. I would put the money toward the PS5 in that case. There is just no value in upgrading from the PS4 to the Pro. ....not like the PS5.

If you never planned on buying the PS5 then maybe.....I guess.

I would get the Pro if it's not realistic to get the PS5, my gut feeling this game is using the GT Sport engine (PS4) and is optimized for it specifically the Pro,
I think the dynamic time/weather is what's going to tax the system and would be most notable on the base PS4.

I wouldn't expect it to run considerably worse than GT Sport, which runs fine on a base PS4. I'd save the money you're thining of spending on a PS4 Pro and put it towards something else.

Of course, you could always wait until it's releasd and see how it performs on your PS4 before buying a PS4 Pro and if it's ok, you've saved some cash, if not, well you wrere thinking of a PS4 Pro anyway.

Only do it if you can do it on the cheap. For example, if you can sell your base PS4 and pick up a second hand PS4 Pro then hopefully you're not spending much cash. I dunno what supply is like in Portugal, but here there is pretty much no PS5 stock unless you buy from scalpers, and I can't see that changing until at least next year.

I would just save your money for a PS5. For me it wouldn’t be worth the hassle or the money switching from the base to the pro.

You won’t see a PS5 on the shelves for a long time, but you may get lucky and score one online from a retailer if you play your cards right.

This is not completely true. Supplies regularly return to shelves, and checking stock within hours of that happening is one way to buy it without much hassle. The key is to monitor local stocks like a hawk and then act without hesitation.

That's precisely it but don't forget about online. I obtained mine over a year ago directly through the PlayStation store. I also followed Matt Swider on Twitter and it was his notifications that helped me to finally get one.

The nice thing about the PS Store is that they (and I think they still do) accept everyone into a queue within a certain window. From there, people are randomly chosen to buy a PS5. I think I tried 3 or 4 times before I found my self in checkout and my PS5 was on it's way.

.....but like you said, you've got to be prepared to be on top of it and a lot of people simply can't because of their jobs, etc. I'm lucky since I'm retired but had I still been working, I would have been fortunate enough that I still could have monitoring all of this in the background on my PC as I worked.

Thank you for all the replies and I concluded that I will just wait until I can get a ps5 at retail, even if I have to wait several months and play on the ps4 until then.

My problem with the ps4 version is that GT sport pushes the ps4 quite hard (I assume) and the jaguar cpu that it has probably will warrant some hard bottlenecks when we consider that the game has dynamic time and weather so there there will probably be heavy sacrifices on it. Plus, the ps4 version has not been shown in any trailer or has not been described how will the expirience be so it might be another case like cyberpunk.

Another thing is the loading times, audio and haptics, three features that I feel I will miss out anyway even if I change to the ps4 pro and so the investment on it just doesn't feel wise even if the pro can handle the game better. The ps5 version will probably be leagues above the other consoles so I will just buy that when I can.

Pure speculation here, but I don’t expect PS5 will be leagues ahead of the PS4, especially the Pro. There will be some nice quality of life improvements such as lightening fast load times, slightly better resolution etc but Polyphony won’t want their PS4 base to be having a poor experience, there are after all many millions of us on those last gen platforms. Kaz and his team may well have been able to squeeze out some very good improvements on the base consoles over GT Sport and if that is so I will be happy. It will be interesting to see if the dynamic weather and dynamic wet tracks carry over to our less powerful consoles, maybe so because it looks as though the grid sizes have not increased so the magic has been worked in those other areas? We won’t have to wait long to find out for sure, but it would be nice to see some last gen trailers released as well as some commentary by Polyphony.

My Point of view, if you can make a GREAT Deal, you can buy an Pro and wait for an cheap PS5 Deal both.

I have make almost the same. End of the last Yeahr, i was "restart" GT on my very old PS3. I was thinking about to buy an PS5 but, its almost impossible to get a PS5 ( i mean to Basic price not from Scalpern ), then i look waht Deals ar Online for PS4, there was many "normal" PS on the Market all for minimum 200-250 Euro very old and durty Versions. Then i find a very good Deal for a PS4 Pro and i Buy it for 180 Euro. So now i cant wait for a good PS5 Deal and if i get one, i can sell the old PS4 easy for 200 here.

BTW: i´m also preorder an 25. Version of GT7

In the best case scenario ( for PS4 / PS4 pro owners ) we will have a similar experience in everything but loading times.

PS5 has an sdd, and a fast one. There is no way to go around this.

i think the Weather wil look muchs better on PS5 and some other things to, but the pure Performance i think/hope will be the same from PS% and PS4 pro. Maybe the Normal PS4 runs only with 30FPS for me thats possible.
