I've just test driven the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and I noticed two odd things:
• can't change torque distribution between axles nor buy torque vectoring differential for this car (thankfully, the default 40:60 split is quite fun)
• can't choose opponents for it in custom race (one-make is the only option)

It's a soccer-mom car, like you said. Only the Hyundai needed repudiating - and closing your knowledge gap doesn't appear to have been mentioned in your response.
Ok, I think most people could take or leave the Hyundai but that’s a matter of opinion.
It’s still based on another mum SUV, I don’t think people are enjoying the EVs that much in GT7 but maybe I’m wrong.
I highly doubt that people would prefer this over a current model Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, VW which we don’t really have.
And I think that will be proven in the real world as well when people don’t spend £60k on this and no one sees it on the road:

For those curious...

Nope, still no Suzuka Banner. Weird how quick they were to update Fuji but Suzuka not so much..
Given Toyota and Gran Turismo have a partnership and not Honda, I'm not surprised Gran Turismo would take its time on Suzuka but would do Fuji ASAP

My first impression of the new physics is that it's somewhere in between the previous physics and the one before that. It feels generally more predictable, with no more random jumping around.

I like it.

FFB changes are nothing revolutionary, just a bit more balanced in strength between different cars (so I no longer need to switch back and forth on the torque setting depending on which car I'm driving)

Download was fast....
Installation is 35 mins long ?? Does the install require to be online and connected ??

I am puzzled now...
The install completion is just a few minutes away, but I still had to wait for over 40 mins now... Weird...

How can I speed this up next time ...
Ps4 or ps5?
Installation on the 4 takes a while. On Ps5 it usually should be much faster. The time counter that’s shown by the system isn’t correct in many times.

Real world sales of a car with quite a price tag dont compare to a virtuals car driving experience.
In a different world, my real car is not present in the game, will not be present in the game (which I think is a shame), and was - to top it - absurdely cheap to buy, and I wouldnt change it nor sell it for anything else.

If it was me, I dont like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and especially not VW.
I dont like the last Ford addition neither, but generally their cars are okay.
As long as you go on with personal opinion, others (like me) can counter-personal opinion it.

They changed timing of S-10 to even more narrow... though they also reduced wet parts, and I believe handling is a bit better. Was struggling with this one for two weeks, now done it in couple of tries, and 2/3rds of the track it was now a first time as I couldn't get Eau Rouge right after this update.

Happy to join platinum club in this awesome game:)

I was talking about the GT class of car... not the game.
I know.. you think I was speaking about Gran Turismo 3? Really? 😂

Your point was exactly "if you want more GT3 (gr.3) go and play other games", wasnt it? And I think that is counter intuitive. It seems there has always been this "woke" -kind of culture, where suggestions for improvement are shamed as complaining. People who care tell you where you could improve - its the same with games.

That said I must say I'm not one who needs more gr.3 - I would like to have even better BOP so more of the current cars were competitive. Im kind of tired of using meta cars just to be competitive. Not that its my problem at the moment as I just sold my T-GT and PSVR2 and went for Moza+PC after 25 years of GT. GT7 is not to blame here - but Sony, PD and Fanatec are. The premium you pay for GT/PS compatible DD is just unacceptable. And sadly T598 is just too little too late. Maybe I'll be back when someone makes an acceptable bang for buck wheel for GT7.

controller behaviour absolutely carry this update for me. It feels a lot nicer to drive every car now.
I dare say I would prefer there to be no under-the-surface controller assist at all that prevents me from applying to much steering.
Until to the point where I suddenly decide it was fine the way it currently is 🙄
What were they smoking when they came up with the spoilers and bumpers for the Ioniq

We know what cars got engine swaps but do what engines did the cars get? I'm mainly looking for Chiron engine swaps

I would like to have even better BOP
There is a problem with that and a vast amount of different cars that are supposed to be different in some aspects.
BoP can simply not be as perfect as to make them all almost identical, as either simply the body shape (BRZ), the torque curve, or mass already make them too different.
It is as worse as to not make races reliant on refueling, because the differences then would be even more severe.

The solution would be having all identicals cars with only different aesthetics, but this is not GT then.

At best with the Hyundai we’re getting an EV track day car which I didn’t see getting requested in here, which people aren’t going to see on the road.
The only reason this thing is in the game is because of a brand agreement that’s being pushed by Hyundai.
But even if we go for a maybe on the Hyundai (we’ll see how many people choose this as their go-to);

- F1 - good addition but no races for it, same as 85 F1 car.
  • Civic - it’s ok on its own, but this is like the 5th Civic?! Just pick a different classic hatchback.
  • Toyota - completely pointless, 7 years old and a total waste of resources.

Saying it’s just my opinion vs yours is inaccurate, the aim of the update should be to entice new players and this isn’t really doing it?

It's been the only thing I still needed for the platinum for about a year. The final chicane is my nemesis. Will have to give it another go now.

How is that supposed to be achieved when new players (= those who dont reciece news about updates on the console and currently very likely dont read anything about the game) dont see any update announcement anywhere besides the places that are fan-realted, they do not visit?

No, update is there to keep the game
1. secure
2. in balance
3. in performance
4. interesting

If you want to get new players joining the game, you need to make huge public noise about the game, and this doesnt need to be connected to a game update, but can be done differently, like "My first Gran Turismo".

Yes - that is my point. If you want more GT3, Le Mans prototypes, play a game that is desgined for them. If you want Formula 1 cars, play a formula one car. That's not being woke... that is my interpretation of GT7 and the franchise.

I'm not trying to stop people complaining (they always will!) - I'm just saying lets not end up with all racing games being the same thing. I was saying that GT Sport included an out of character amount of racing cars to the GT franchise, which has now created this expectation from some that we will/should have more "current" GT3 and prototypes, which isn't typical of a GT game to have such a high concentration of.

I think only way would be to have a Track based BOP. The cars should be different, but the weaknesses should be better counter balanced. Like giving more power for cars that are slow on corners so they can make it up on the straights or making the nimble and fast cars heavier. Just adjust power and weight like in real world and keep the charasteristics of different cars. It just needs to be track based and continous adjustment. Current high/mid/low speed bop adjusted monthly is not accurate enough to prevent meta car grids.

You do realize GT7 competitive online side does already lean heavily to race cars - especially gr4 and gr3? Its not a "GT Sport" -thing. Gran Turismo offline/online lobby is very different thing versus the competitive esports side. Its like two games in one.
