The Game
Gran Turismo Concept: 2002 Tokyo-Geneva is the next installment in the popular Gran Turismo series. It is only available in thte PAL format. There is a Japanese NTSC version however entitled Gran Turismo Concept: 2002 Tokyo. The concept of this game is that you get less exhilarating GT action for less money.
Content
GTC isn't the greatest of the Gran Turismo series content wise. It contains over 100 pretuned autos and 5 tracks (10 including the reversed tracks) including Autumn Ring which was absent from Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. The Gran Turismo Mode (or Simulaion Mode) is absent from Gran Turismo Concept; so in other words you can't buy or tune cars. You win cars by completing difficulty levels and licenses. You must obtain a license you each track (so, you need to get a total of 10 licenses. Once you have a license for a track you can race on it choosing from 3 difficulty levels (Normal, Professional & Ace). For getting a bronze or silver license on any course you will receive a prize car. If you get gold you will get another prize car. You get another prize car for each difficulty level for each track. Gran Turismo Concept is a pure arcade game to keep true GT enthusiasts busy until the release of Gran Turismo 4. It is one of those buy it, finish it, put it back on the shelf and bring it out when you have some friends around games.
Graphics
The graphics in Gran Turismo Concept are outstanding featuring some very well modelled cars. You don't have to get to hyped up about this though if the game is not available in your region, as the graphics aren't any better than GT3's. But aren't GT3's graphics outstanding...
Audio
There isn't much to comment on the audio of the game except for the fact it is good.
Positives
Polyphony Digital's 4th GT installment is cheap way of a bit of GT excitement after completing Gran Turismo 3. GT Concept isn't all that expensive which makes for another good (for the first week or so) game in your PS2 game collection.
Negatives
Gran Turismo Concept: 2002 Tokyo-Geneva's only fault is that it is too short and experienced GT players will complete in no time flat.
