Gran Turismo's series producer Kazunori Yamauchi has clarified its esports FIA relationship and hopes for an improved World Series spectacle in 2023.

All things considered given that the upcoming movie is based on GT Academy I am guessing the future will have some form of GT Academy revival but I don't know if the FIA would want to be a part of that since a lot of the old GT Academy was aimed at entertaining the viewers over being realistic. Either way I hope whatever happens succeeds so there can be more positive exposure to the franchise which has been lacking recently.

Unclear. Just that GT7 was not ready to support the live events at a level that was acceptable to the FIA. They then switched to ACC.
