Race Qualifying:
There won’t be any. And yet there will be.
To reward drivers who stick out the season, the first race only will grid in alphabetical order. Thereafter, the starting order of each successive season race will be based upon first your finishing order and then your points total.
For example, the inaugural race consists of two 30-minute sprints. The first sprint will grid alphabetically. Note your finishing order at the end of this first race as that will be the starting order for the second sprint.
For the next week’s one-hour race, you will start in the order of your points total from the inaugural race’s two sprints. For the following week’s two race sprints, you start in point order. But the second sprint of the night starts based on how you finished in the first sprint.
This way, you by and large always know where you stand during the season. Basically, every race is a qualifier for the next. Want to always start first? Then win every race, if you can. In addition, a newcomer cannot simply show up, run a qualifying lap and get to start ahead of the regular pack. Starting positions have to be earned through consistent play.
Grid Start protocol:
The races will have a 1-minute rolling start. This gives drivers a chance to line up per the grid start order which will be posted the night before. During this opening minute, the grid will stay in single file qualifying order with the lead driver pacing the field at a maximum speed of 70 mph. At the one-minute race timer mark the race will officially begin.
Conditions:
All races will be run without weather though some of the one-hour enduro races may entail time progression.
SCHEDULE:
Races will be every Tuesday at 8:30pm EST. Races will start sharply as there is no qualifying as previously outlined. Room should be up about 30 minutes to an hour beforehand for practice.
Number of races / Track Selection:
There will be 12 Race Events, listed below. The number of laps per track will be adjusted to fit the time allowed for the given track.
Tracks are posted below, for the entire season. For two-race sprint nights, once the second track has been loaded there will be approximately 10 minutes allowed for bathroom breaks, snacks, quick practice laps and last minute tuning before race start.

Double points will be awarded for the endurance races.
Disconnects / DNFs:
These are treated as a mechanical breakdown with points awarded based on your position at race end as indicated by the finish timer.
Lowest 3-race scores / finish will be thrown out. This is to accommodate folks whose schedules are such that they are forced to miss a few races, have an unfortunate disconnect or just a bad night on a track they don't do well at.
In the event of a tie at season’s end where more than one person has the same amount of points after throw out points have been removed, the person with the most first place finishes will receive the higher finishing position in the overall championship. In the event that the tying parties have the same number of first place finishes the tie breaker will move to the most seconds, thirds etc. until the tie is broken.
Lobby host will be determined later.
Microphone protocol:
All racers are strongly urged to have a microphone. That said, chatter during a race should be as limited as possible. Running commentary is unnecessary and distracting to other racers. Some racers prefer to race with their microphones muted so that they can hear only. This is good.
Contact:
Just like any race series incidental contact could occur. I expect racers to be mature and professional at all times. If you need to be told that weaving to shake someone out of a draft is poor form then this is not the place for you. GT Planet’s standard race rules will apply and a link to them is provided here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gtplanet-online-racing-olr-rules-guidelines.111241/
Protests:
These may be filed and will be taken seriously. Please send these to the Chief Race Official via PM.
Hosting/Race Officials:
The Race Officials will consist of Drinxalot and Tauras and other appointed officials. Alternates will be utilized if needed and appointed for reasons such as, missed events, conflict of interest in ruling at the discretion of GTLMS.
RACE OFFICIALS:
1. SpyTaur / Tauras (Chief Race Official)
2. Drinxalot
The chief Race Official reserves the right to change or modify these rules at anytime, for any reason or for any whim whatsoever.
