Gran Turismo Sport - Master Car List

I was figuring the MINI VGT would be Gr. B Rally Car, as well. I know that we do not know yet, but on the Vision GT page of the main Gran Turismo website, it labels as all the VGT cars will be in GT Sport. http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/vgt/. Things can change and these additions may not be definite, since most of the cars have had not screenshots or gameplay footage yet, but still worth noting. Plus, I know GT Sport is a cross between fantasy and reality, but would manufacturers want two models from their same brand competing against each other? Would manufacturers want their VGT beating their own real-life based model car? Maybe awkward promotion to the public and enthusiasts.

I wonder how many cars from each brand will fulfill each class. If it's limited to just one car per categorie, then cars such as the Nissan VGT won't take part of that Gp.3 class for example, because there's already a Nissan. The same with the Mercedes and BMW VGTs. But that's just speculation so I'll end it here.
The truth is, I'm a bit confused how it will be done in the end, so just I'll wait and see.

That's impossible, a car brand can add many cars as they want if they have it to a regulated category, there can be Gr.3 and GT3 cars from the same brand if that brand have both cars. Blacpain Audis are an example, because there was an new-gen R8 GT3 (like the team WRT) and a old-gen R8 GT3 running last year

I know what you mean, but they might do that way just because of balance, since you will stick to one brand (in Sport mode if I'm not mistaken), would be "unfair" to have brands with only one car to choose from in said category, and then other brands wit two or even three cars.
But as I said, just a bit of speculation about how they may or may not do things. So far we do not know much sadly.

Are they adding any new GT500 cars? The new Nissan GT500? The new Honda NSX-GT GT500? The new Lexus RCF GT500?will they be adding these? Answer anyone

I saw 75 predicted cars from a list, meaning there are 62 more cars to go...

I think they ahould have in addition (based off of the manufacturers listing):
  • 2 more modern LMP1's (Hybrid), 2 LMP2's, 3 GTE's.
  • 4 more rally cars.
  • 2 Formula cars***.
  • 4 Group C1's.
  • 2 GT1's.
  • 3 Classic Le Mans cars (From 1960's).
  • 8 NASCAR cars.
  • 3 GT500 and 3 GT300 cars.
  • 2 more Gr.4 cars.
  • 2 V8 supercars.
  • 22 more street legal cars, evenly dispersed among performance stats (from any time period).
  • ***If there is no Formula, add that quantity to the rest of street/road cars.

Good to see that Gran Turismo is now making a good balance between Japanese Cars and Non-Japanese Cars, i'm liking this car list.

Jaguar F-Type

And, the Jaguar F Type at Eifel on a misty morning:

Looks like all pictures from December PD's party are confirmed as Scapes pictures, so we can also add this Ferrari 246 Dino to the car list.

Yes, which once again, is not enough for me to currently confirm it will be in the final game.

I assume you've explained this before @Samus but why is that not enough evidence? You're waiting to actually eyeball the track itself?

Because it is possible the track they raced on was not finished and won't be initially included in the game on launch day.

Only 137 cars is a bit disappointing, but knowing that a not insignificant number of those will be duplicates is even more disappointing. (Although not surprising).

If all the VGT's are included and some are duplicated like a couple we've already seen, around 30 or more than 1/5th of the car list will be VGT's. Looks like many of the others, from what we've seen so far, have more than one model of the same car for a rally version, one or two group versions and the base version. We could potentially have only 60 or 70 production/race car models or less + duplicates + VGT. :indiff:

Some people are already disappointed in the car list but I always see them mentioning the 130 number. I wonder if they've taken a close look at this thread and realized the potential for duplication and the potential size of the VGT component.

Oh god it's even worse than I thought then. I honestly am at a loss as to how PD thought that this would be any match for Forza 6. Three years into the PS4's life and this is all we get from PD... With Pcars being a complete bug-fest (though brilliant the 1 out 10 times it actually works properly), and AC looking set to be as barebones as they come, PD is really missing a golden opportunity to fill a gap in the market that only a proper GT or Forza title could fill.

I don't think it will be like that, atleast for the Bugatti. What we will probably see is a base version of the car, and then we will be able tune (or detune) to meet such specifications. Other option is the car being "locked" to Gr.1 specs, and then you just tweak suspension, transmission and aero to your taste. So either way, I think those cars will only count as 1.
I'm most worried about other cars, such as the Evo X, that have multiple versions and the possibility of them counting those as different cars...

Nobody knows this early on.

I'm going to guess that it isn't since I don't believe Super GT is owned by the FIA. However, there's room for a "Group 2" class in GTSport.
