Ok, so I searched and couldn't find anything so I'm assuming no one has had this problem so maybe there's something wrong on my end.So when I go to download either one of the new Top Gears or the newest GT TV program I add them to my cart, hit check out, hit accept then I get "Unexpected error" at the PS Store check out. The programs are free but I have enough funds in my wallet anyway. Does anyone have any ideas?

I kinda bummed about this not working. I really want to watch the Top gear episode with the VW W12. Anyway, I sent a comment to Sony and they replied with...

Hello Patrick,

We apologize for any inconvenience regarding the content for your game.

For further information regarding accessing the additional content for your game, please visit the official website for the Gran Turismo series at http://us.playstation.com/granturismo/.

No help help at all.

I am sure if you search you'll find plenty of people with your problem. However there does not seem to be a solution, it's a common problem. If Sony won't help you there isn't anything I can suggest, other than to keep trying, it eventually let me download the free programmes, ( I have £0.00 in my wallet so that does not matter ) so maybe it will let you.

I've been having the same problem for a few months now, so I decided I'd had enough and just called Sony. After dealing with 3 people who had no idea what I was talking about, I finally just went to a supervisor and talked with them for a good half hour of listing things to try. Among them were delete the 'Game Data Utility' for the game and reinstall it, explicitly sign out and back in again (even if you turn off your system, supposedly Sony's servers don't actually kill your connection to the network for some reason, according to the supervisor I was talking to. Surprising, I know..), and deactivating/reactivating the system for game and video content.

I tried deleting the Game Data Utility and reinstalling it, and after suffering through the installation and updating process, I was able to make a purchase and begin a download. Once. That's right. It worked once. My three episodes of the Super GT that I tested the theory with are happily downloading to My List as I type this, and I'm now receiving "An unexpected error has occurred" again.

So, lesson here: write down everything you want to download, delete the Game Data Utility (NOT the "Saved Data Utility" for the love of god) for GT5P, reinstall it, update it, put everything back in your GT5P cart (as it will be cleared out), and download/purchase EVERYTHING at once.

I forgot to mention that by deleting the Game Data Utility for this game, it will not only delete your cart, but it will also delete all your options settings, so if you do a lot of customizing of your options, you'll have to do all that over again. I figured that'd be good to know.

Looks like even Sony's own half-assed solutions are based completely on luck. Like I said it only worked once for me, so I probably just got really lucky.

Guess we get to wait for the full GT5 before we get to actually make use of this feature. Go figure.. Oh well, back to Xbox and PC for me.

I guess it was just luck as I cant understand why it would work. This is something that needs a proper fix by Sony, lets hope they do it, at least in time for GT5, if not sooner.

Amen to that. GT-TV was such a great idea, and I've been wishing to be able to watch Japan's Super GT series without having to invest in satellite TV (assuming that would even work). It's such a shame they'd push that feature out to the masses in such a state that would allow it to stop working like this.

GT-TV works for me when it wants it seems, some times it does, other times it doesn't. I think something is definitely wrong with it. GT-TV is a good idea like you said, lets hope it lives upto it's potential.

It's been a long time since I downloaded anything from GT-TV, I only downloaded the free and £0.00 videos but at first the £0.00 wouldn't work and then suddenly one day they did. The same thing happened again after some new videos were released, since then I haven't tried to download anything else.

Crazy.. Guess I'll just keep randomly trying the other ones I've been wanting 'till they work, granted I can muster up the tolerance to look at that atrocious error again. Thanks for the info

It is odd. you'd think Sony would try to fix it with a system update. The game came out over a year ago and is still selling at full retail, which means it is still selling well. You'd think Sony would want it to work. It seems that episodes that are $0.00 or that you pay for work, but the episodes whose price is "free" don't work. Seems like Sony or PD should be able to fix it.

I really like the GTTV idea. I bought the Nurburing episode, and watching auto programming in 1080p, and well edited with high production values is great. Just hope they get it fixed soon.

Of course, maybe they are working extra hard to get GT5 out by Christmas with damage, weather, etc.!!

i hope Sony will fix this problem asap. I've been trying to download some GTTV contents for months and I just can't get the download to work :(
