I’m going in for the 6:00pm UK event, unfortunately running the M4 which I haven’t really driven and most people say it’s slow 🤞🏻 hopefully pull off another good result. Twitch millerrice142

Same. Last time I used the M4 it was around Road Atlanta and even though I was driving it wrong I still was front running until an accident. This time it felt a lot worse. Looking at what the BOP did to it, it is easy to see why. It's not a light car and the mass is kept the same. Then they take away a decent amount of horses and you are left with a very hamstrung car. Even shifting it as soon as I saw the red appear it feels slow after a second in a gear. In 1 lap terms it seems decent. It handles well and is stable. But in race trim it just sinks and stinks. It desperately needs a major BOP adjustment and I'm surprised it has never been addressed.

Onto the race. Thanks to the 1 lap pace I pulled her to 7th on the grid. Except a brief foray into 6th at the start that was as good as it got.

Lap 1 and a car ahead is knocked wide meaning they are slow of T1 and I duck underneath into T2. Heading into the boot section I am then dived and shoved wide. This allows 2 cars through. Thanks to the slip I am able to stay with the group ahead and no doubt helped by their battling. However I was always due to be shuffled down the order. Over the course of the race everyone who gets close passes me and does so respectively. However as the race goes on my front tyres wear enough that braking and turning are no longer to the car's taste. A couple of run wides at T1 and the Bus Stop give me penalties suffling me down further. On lap 9 a 458 runs side by side into the penultimate corner. I give space but they understeer and knock me wide. I come back on and am still side by side into the last corner. They turn in on me as if I am not there and this sends my car into a spin and the barrier. I am now in last but 1. A Cayman has an issue through T1 and I pass them. However they are back on me by the Toe and scoot past on the run to the Heel. Thankfully I just hold a second gap to last place and finish P14. I was never going to do more than 1 run as it was a free hit in case a decent result came. Plus I love the GTWS races. There was a great spread of cars and manus in the race. I love to see it. However I would have had 10th or 11th if it was not for some bad racecraft from the Ferrari. Better control or even waiting 2 seconds to pass me easily on the straight would not have cost them but would have meant 1 poor bit of driving did not cost another driver seconds they needed more than them.

To cool down I watched my epic comeback at the Nords. I will post the race up once YouTube is done with it.

But just to add, it's a decent way to see how your DR will be affected by the results. If you're a high number and you finish lower position than the number you might lose DR. Versus having a low number and finishing above and gaining.

I'm not sure on all the math, truthfully I haven't paid too close attention to it. So far, the only public lobby racing I've done so far is in these championships.

Sounds like you managed to get more out of the car than I could, I did a 1:56 odd in practice but only managed a 1:58 qualifying which placed me dead last, I couldn’t even keep up off the line to feel the effects of a slipstream then felt the front loose grip which really didn’t help, the gearing feels too short in second and too long in 5th and 6th, it has the power band of a diesel which is making me kick myself for not choosing another manufacturer, much prefer the Cayman and 458 in Gr.4 but I really wanted to run the M6.

I want to go do a few laps now to see what the M4 can really do. Ignoring tire wear and definitely top speed it shouldn't be that bad but obviously it is. Just want to see where against my ghost.

I guess that went about as good as I could have hoped for. I was definitely not on the pace to run at the front in this one. Q'd in 8th, got rear ended and damaged 1/2-way into the 1st lap. Pitted at the end of the 7th for tires and fix the damage. Went back out and moved up a few places to finish in 7th by the end.....I'll take that and call it a day I think.

My DR went but I didn't notice what door number my car was. The dummy math I always used was finish higher than the number on your car at the race start to improve DR, haha.

first full DR B lobby for me, Q13, finished P10 after getting punted or pitted from behind 3 separate times. got thrown into hell lobby after my saturday win. literal garbage bumper car racing. i went from P13 to P9 or P10 3 separate times.

some guy dive bombs me, so i switch him on the next corner and he swings back into me, ping pongs into the wall and loses some speed, then tries to intentionally divebomb me but cant catch me and finishes with an extra 2 seconds in penalties

then calls me a dirty driver in chat?

5 ham fisted laps, appreciate not the same conditions as the GTWS but all aids off slightly drunk. My best lap was 1:54.1 with an optimum of 1:53.7 such is my inconsistency.

Its not quite the pace of the 650 I've been driving for over a year but its not bad especially if you can tame the snap oversteer.

It would take a lot to get the most from it but the M4 is no where near off the pace. In fact just on these few laps, it's probably a better race weapon than the cayman in the mid tier class of gr4.

It is not as hamstrung as it appears.

Caveat, just time trial laps at WG so not indicative but it's not that bad at all.

Where did you shift it?
According to the chart it has a massive plateau after about 6k revs. This seems to be just before any red appears on the gauge (If not having a tacho on the screen).

My QT was hampered a bit but that's the fun of the game

Then we have the race and apart from a track cut pen and avoiding the the L1 turn one carnage it was uneventful. Should have had 2 places in front of me be drunk/sloppy Glen ran as wide as they did.

And here is the M4 I've never driven properly other than today for a couple of laps and the race.

It absolutely sucks in the top speed sections, you can't get round that it just runs out of steam.

But....it absolutely handles like a dream, I had an M3 and a Cayman in real life and the M4 feels like they do, they need to be just over the limit and they sing.

So there it is, ignoring the lag and my drunkness the M4 can sort of compete but overall it's a bit rubbish. But you can stay in touch or up the sharp end with it.

Not a great car but no where near as bad as people make out.

Just to be clear I did this on my US account and didn't impede anyone trying, I wasn't there to get in anyone's race and don't and didn't care where I finished.

I was about to skip it... just couldn't find the pace with my Porsche and left tyres dead at lap 14, losing almost 10 seconds in the last two laps. Tried softening suspension, several combinations, using TC1 (that worked for tyres but too slow), coasting, long gears... Didn't join the 6pm race... didn't join the 8 pm race... feeling frustrated.

Then I said what the hell, I will stop trying to save tyres and will just focus on improving my times. So I went to the TT, got a 1.45.0 record improving almost 2 tenths from my previous PB. Then went to a lobby, but not much improvement there so I decided to skip also the last race. But in the end, 15 minutes before the race, I felt like I wanted to try it, it's just a game right? Was worried about losing my new (and low) A rating but no risk no gain! So I joined.

Did a bad qualify, starting p9, well ok I thought just get to p8 to save your DR and all will be fine, just drive, keep cool. Some cars went off road, some others penalized, chaos in the first chicane but luckily behind me, and I found myself in P5, happy as a bunny. Then something clicked around lap 4 and I could find the right lines for several corners that were so difficult before, the car felt smooth and safe, I was doing pretty average, mid 1:46, but consistently. Started to see cars ahead having trouble with tyres, P1 went to shadow realm spinning in one of the last corners. Got to P3, P2 had clearly worse tyres than me and after a couple of laps could overtake him after a tense and mostly clean battle, which allowed P1 to create a gap of 5 seconds.

Finished P2 with surprisingly 10% of the left tyres (used TC1 the last 2 laps just in case), 3 seconds behind P1, also in a Porsche with exactly same degradation on the rear tyres but significantly better front tyres, don't know how he managed to do that.

This is my second P2 after reaching GT1!!! 🏁🏎️🏎️🏎️

I don't think comfort tires were allowed. Probably not English based on all the other things on the HUD.

He's Spanish so i think CM stands for Carrera Medio (Race Medium).

Now you know what the Carrera in Porsche Carrera stands for ;D

I was just revving it out. That might explain why I wasn't getting much out of it.

Just sent my wheel off, to Fanatec for repair, again, and tried to make a setup... That ended up way worse than the default. Oh well! Slot 1 was awful, I ended up around 10th with my bad setup, got banged around a lot, drove into the wall at the chicane, got punted, ended up with damage on both ends and finished 13th out of 13. Slot 2 I went back to the default setup, qualified on pole, ended up 18 seconds behind the winner but in a clean 2nd. Still pushing for A+... I think it's there once I get my wheel back.

Could only do one of these real quick today right after work and before other things (have I mentioned Wednesdays are not good for me? PD!!!) as I only had about an hour early afternoon time-frame. Really a bummer as Gr3 at WG is one of my favorite combos.

Had some good battles with this McLaren and Genesis. The Mustang wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. A glorified Daily C, but overall a fun race regardless.

Second slot GT1 door 7 today.
Last second decision to no stop today.

Qualified no time as p15 of 15 because while I thought I had space I guess I didn’t by the end of a hot lap.
Caught a 458 in the last few turns and as a viper caught up too he decided to use me to take the next to last turn and sent me for a.5 penalty. I thought I had enough time to restart but was wrong and missed getting a lap.

Being in the back was okay while watching a few take each other out but it soon became a pita as I had two 458s and a Huracan holding me up but they were all playing bumper cars which I wasn’t up for.

Took way too long to get passes made. By lap 12 I was up to p8 after getting by the last 458 on my no stop run.
Caught p7 on lap 15 on the back half of the track and kept trying to get by without bumping him since he was pretty 🐿️ on his smoked tires

I see the same viper trying to set up as we make the final turn and the p7 650 is sliding and it looks like he’s heading to brush the wall but instead saved it while I lose speed on the inside and set off for a drag to the line. Shocked as I see that he had left enough room for the viper to get a run between him and the wall as I watch the viper take p6, 650 is p7 and I landed p8 🤬

Smiled for a second when I saw I got a CRB but went right back to cursing as the screen switched as I see a loss of DR when it was sooo close.

Landed on another 163 points so I’ll take that, my CRB and my lesson on not getting overtakes done quick enough.

Enjoying stepping back into these competitive races again now that it's a (somewhat) better schedule in GT1!

I didn't have much confidence in today's race, as my practice No-Stop attempt failed miserably after lap 11 in the Peugeot RCZ GR.3, so I elected to try an undercut single stop 6/9 depending on how the start went. Kept the nose clean all the way through to bring it home fastest of those that stopped in P7 from P9!

okay, last slot, GT1, AMG. Decided to no-stop unless I took damage and, lo-and-behold, I think this is the first race where I didn't receive any damage. (I seriously had to take evasive maneuvers on lap 2 to avoid giving some out).

So-so qualy put me Q10. Just ran laps watching some fade away, some pitting and was up to P5 at about lap 11 or 12 as the tires were scrubbed clean. Started seeing the delta go down and some pitters catching me (Hi @A_Higher_Place!)

Was about to finish P7 when another pitter passed me, cleanly, on the very last turn. Oh well, P8 and a CRB (on those tires?!) to boot. Any race with a few DR points, a CRB and no damage in GT1 counts as a win for me.

On the EU server I brought out the Acme Racing WRX for Manufacture's race (last D\S slot). Q15 due to a fast lobby, made it up to 8th and then tragedy stuck (dog bumped\sat on my controller) causing a catastrophic meeting with a wall pushing me to DFL. P14 to end the race.

Better result from the NA server (sort of). Q8 in the Thrustmaster SLS AMG, good race overall ranging from 7th to 12th but managed to climb back up for a P8 finish.

Looking forward to the Gr3 races at Mount Panorama.

I almost forgot about this race tonight, but I jumped into the final slot in NA GT1. I load into a lower rank A lobby putting me #2 in DR rankings, so I figured I have a shot at winning. I only get one clean qualifying lap in due to a spinner but it lands me a P3 start.

The green flag flies and I get along side the P2 NSX going into turn one and clear then on the exit. I'm thinking things are going to be great, but then that same NSX drafts me up the hill and takes me double wide into the bus stop (why??). I back off on entry to let them go, and proceed to get clipped by a dive bomber. I slide through the grass back onto the track and get knocked around a bit more. By some miracle I escape with only left from wheel damage and rejoin in P6. The car was driving OK so I decided to stay out.

I just run my own race and focus on driving smooth, and I start to gain on P5. Another NSX ahead spins giving me a free spot, and as I drew closer to P4 I could tell they had damage and reduced top speed. I cruise by heading into bus stop and P2 is too far ahead for me to catch them. The laps wind down and surprisingly my tires are holding up, and I make it to the bumper of P2. It seems their tires are shot and I am able to easily power ahead of them exiting Turn 7 on lap 13.

I'm just riding at this point, and make it half way through the final lap before my left front gives out for a P2 finish and 177 points. I'm pleased with the result given the circumstances, but wish I could I have challenged for the win.

I only had the chance for one go at the WG races so my only hope at a result was at the 10PM start time. I spent an hour practising before the race to get a feel for the MAZDA RX-VISION and an idea of my braking points. I happily came across @icycls again and am glad to see both of us move up the order this time (well done )!

On the first lap, first corner, a jaguar in front of me had a slow start so I pipped them there. I was surprised to keep up in a straight line with this car as it seems to lag at the top end. The slipstream was great and it managed to keep me in fighting distance to a RSR and R8 until about the midpoint when I overtook them too. Had a few points during that race where I genuinely wondered "Hang on, how did I get here?!". I felt really fast in this race and managed some moves I would never dream of making (horn toot).

I pit on lap 10 but should have pitted a lap earlier. That RSR I passed did a no-stop and beat me by about 3 seconds. Coming out of the pits, I had a Peugeot driver slow me up for a few corners. Between that and pitting a lap earlier, I am confident I could have had fourth place.

All-in-all, a great race for me. Qualified 9th or 10th and finished 5th in a DR.A lobby. I felt like I found a good flow state and the RX-VISION did not let me down.

While getting smashed the first lap and losing 5 seconds off my pace for the next 4 laps I still had fun, and it was a learning experience… After I pit I turned into a mad man and went up 6 spots… getting 10th on the last lap on the penalty straight. He had a half of second penalty so I caught him! I am still an advocate of full damage even getting killed in the first lap… without the hardcore experience we GT1 drivers go through… I wouldn’t have gotten a chance to better my driving skills and that’s what I can appreciate!

Mount Panorama is going to be insane, and don’t think about breathing on the walls because those 1.5 second penalty coming out!

Just had to go again since I was disappointed in my performance in slot two GT 1 NA.

Round 3 was the same points total available and I was again door 7.

Waited to go out this time and actually set a Q time about .5 off my best free practice which got me q10 this time.

Lots of cars bunched up again but I was a few places further up once the possession started. Did a few overtakes and gave up places before a few cars pitted. Running in p9 behind a Vision for the last two laps and finally got my chance on at T1 on the final lap. Made the pass and it stuck as I closed down the gap to p7 and on the final turn I couldn’t catch before the line got my second p8 of the evening.

Enjoyed this race more because it was hard fought fast racing and not bumper cars like my first go.

Actually gained back the DR from the first race to end the night even and got the exact same 163 points I had for the first race 😁

Glad I went back and had the same outcome but a much better experience 🍻

Once again I didn't have the talent to get it done on my first attempt...

Slot 1: Once again I was paired up with @Spider-Racer, and once again I didn't see him once since he was at the front and I was floundering around at the back like a moron . This time my stupidity started in qualifying when I picked up a penalty in "The Toe" on my first hot lap. This was literally just before the penalty zone, so I then had to wait until my 2nd flying lap to serve it, completely ruining any chance I had of even avoiding starting dead last. Fortunately I had @Geauxgreddy for company at the very back of the grid just ahead of me in the other Corvette (can't remember the last time I wasn't the only Corvette in one of these races).

Despite knowing I had the pace to be well inside the Top 10, I couldn't even get out of last place for the first few laps. Overtaking difficulties were the name of the game the whole race, just waiting for those in front to trip over each other. I also got run into in The Toe and picked up rear wing damage, which didn't seem to hurt my performance as I was easily able to catch back up to the cars I was battling with after recovering. Me and Greddy were stuck in a 4-car battle for not-last for the entire race, and I finally caught up to him at the head of our train on the final lap, battling for either P9 or P10, but he's frustratingly good at defending , so despite getting up the inside after the Bus Stop, I couldn't make anything happen. That allowed another car to get between us, then headed into The Toe I went on the defense from the Mazda that rear-ended me in the same spot earlier, and I understeered and accidentally pushed him off track, so I slowed down to wait and that ended any chance I had at an interesting (though still horrible) finish and I decided to quit from P12 of 13 rather than bothering with finishing with such a terrible result.

Slot 2: I managed to not be an idiot in qualifying this time and grabbed P7 on the grid, right in front of a very fast friend in an AMG. On Lap 2 he unfortunately got wiped out at the exit of T1, so I had a few laps of breathing room. On Lap 4 I caught up to a Ferrari in the esses and he signaled me to pass, so I went up to P6 at the Bus Stop and opened up a small gap and tried to save my tires since I clearly wasn't gaining on anyone ahead. Another AMG eventually got by the Ferrari as well and started to reel me back in, not helped by me picking up a track limits penalty at T1. Fortunately for me he also had a penalty he had to serve from the previous lap, but unfortunately a GT-R managed to jump both of us, pulling off an outside pass on me at The Heel. The GT-R then lost it on the outside curb at T1 the following lap, handing P6 back to me. At the same time, the AMG picked up a track limits penalty at T1, but I couldn't take advantage because I nearly spun myself out at the slow left-hander after The Toe. Still, I had enough of a gap that I didn't have to defend for at least a couple more laps. Then on Lap 12 we BOTH picked up a track limits penalty at T1, and we stayed status quo after serving our penalties. On Lap 13 he finally got by when I bounced a bit too hard over the final curb in the Bus Stop and couldn't get to the inside of the loop in time to defend, but he then got loose under braking for The Toe and I retook the position. By now it was clear I was on worse tires, and our battling brought another GT-R into the mix, so the final 2 laps I was defending for my life and backing the corners up to get as straight of an exit as possible to take advantage of the Corvette's naturally better acceleration. Ultimately I was able to barely hold on to P6 for 250 points. It was a decent result, but I felt my Rose Bowl livery deserved better; unfortunately neither the car nor me were capable of anything better... That's also probably me done for the season until Nation's, since I'm horrible at Bathurst and doubt I'm much better at DTG.

My split was worth 321 points (I think it was 3rd split) and I was happy to see @Geauxgreddy and @GTWolverine in the lobby again. I got lucky to be door 3 and not me matched in the split immediately above it.
I struggled the whole week in this combo: I could not make the Porsche drive 15 laps on one set of RM tyres without them dying, even by trying to nurse them in practice runs. I also noticed how amazingly quick some other very popular manufacturers are, so I went in expecting a low score.

Qualy was probably the highlight of my night. My first flying lap was very decent and put me in 3rd. That gave me confidence to risk more in the 2nd lap and I went 0.1s quicker. Another driver improved too and I eventually started the race in 4th. Can't complain at all about that….especially since qualy is where I usually bottle it.


The race itself was frustrating. The Mercs and GT-Rs ahead drove into the distance and I was forced to push more than I wanted in the initial laps because people in other quick FRs behind were putting pressure and threatening risky overtakes. My tyres did not like that one bit, and I eventually lost positions to a Supra and a Lexus and crossed the line in 6th for 254 points.


Those 254 points, shockingly, were the highest Porsche of the evening. That's how bad the car was compared to Mercs, Supras, GT-Rs and BMWs (which, of course, there are plenty around.
Anyway, happy with the result, onto Bathurst. It unfortunately also involves tuning, but hopefully the mandatory pit stop means we won't have to deal with full red tyres during the race.

Livery: I wanted to use a Gil de Ferran tribute livery I made over the week, but felt it didn't do him justice, so I switched last minute to a ROWE replica I found in the showcase.

Started 13th, finished 12th, made the tyres last but had no pace, I guess that's what happens when you jump in with minimal practice

GT1 EMEA race 1... bit of a disaster.

In qualifying I drop a tyre over the white lines and get a mysterious half second penalty, back to the pits and spin on my second lap, so P16 with no time. A mega first lap of the race sees me back in the top 10 only to spin at the bus stop and cook my tyres. Pace is fine but I have to pit and finish P11.

Confident I can do slightly better I enter race 2. This time a decent quali lap high 1:44 puts me 4th but my early pace is poor and I drop a few places. This time I'm trying to save the tyres but clearly not enough as I have to do the final two with nothing on the rear left. Spin once on the final left-hander but only lose a single place and limp home for P10. Looking at the track map I could see pitting would put me last so had to stick it out.

Ford GT perhaps not the best pick for this one so I'll take it. I think it's quick enough, even when the rear left was nearly gone I was catching cars with more tyres left. Might have to look at the LM Test car for Bathurst though, see what my options are like.

The silver lining is my son won his first ever Manu race (GT2) in the Mustang, in fact his first ever win in GT7, so he was quite happy to see his dad fail!

Well done to your boy @bliprunner. My first GT7 sport win was in the Mustang as well so I have a big soft spot for that one. Makes me tempted to rejoin Ford sometime in the GTWS future.
