Any tips for driving MR at suzuka? More specifically the new Ford GT 18. Can't make it through 130r without oversteer but everywhere else is just about manageable.
Just need to live on the throttle, start feathering it as soon as you've slowed for the corner there should be no point you're not on that pedal or the thing will fishtail out. I've tried a few laps now and for me I think TC at 2 is going to be important for this one, I'd rather not but without ability to adjust bias it's so difficult to predict its behaviour at turn in without TC, it's begging to become loose at 130R.

I don't know how it's going to handle if it rains..

Wish I'd gone for something more bog standard for this champ!

I’ve done quite a bit of FP for Suzuka and there’s been no rain at all. I think it’s very unlikely we’ll see it in the race.

Did slot 2 in Asia. Door 10 and the only Aston in the lobby. Qualified 8th with a 2:01.9xx half a second slower than my best FP time. No glitches for anyone.

Race started well, everyone made it through turn 1 alive. Ran in formation for a lap before gaining a place on the run to the Degners on lap 2. Put in a couple of solid laps before the Genesis behind me made the most of the Vantage’s awful top end and took the inside into Turn 1 on the last lap. We both gave plenty of room and came out the other side, but I was back into 8th.

Compromising his line into the esses cost him though as he ran wide out of the second left hander and I took the place back. By the hairpin I was around 1.5s behind p6 and the same in front of P8. Then yellow flags came out as someone had lost the rear out of the hairpin and hit the inside wall gifting me another spot. Brought it home nice and clean for a p6 and 194 points.

Good race with some great respectful driving. Manu is proving way better than Nations.

Slot 2 for me. Qualified P14. Gained a couple of places in the opening lap as the Honda in front of me was struggling for traction. Than another at the hairpin as a Subaru swapped ends hitting the wall on the exit.

By the start of lap 2 I was up into 11th as a car wall the wall at the chicane. Claimed another through turn 2 as they ran wide and spun at the top of the track to gift me 8th and then 7th as a Subaru served a penalty.

Was being hussled by the Subaru all through lap 3. They got a run on me out of 130r and I saw them in my radar move to my left. I opened the space for them, only for them to move back behind me and hit me off at the chicane.

Rejoined in 10th where I remained to the finish. I'll take the result, but it could've and should've been better.

Edit Just finished re-watching the replay. The Subaru that hit me, also did the same to another driver on lap 1 in the same corner. So he has form for punt to pass moves. Will remember that for next time I see him on track.

Dreading this I have to say, the Ford GT has been a nightmare to handle throughout practice.
Which one, the GT LM or the GT '18? If it's the GT LM, I can understand as found the Test Car much sketchier in GT Sport Free Practice than in lobbies. As long as you're not too aggressive with throttle or steering, you should be okay.

Genesis also gets snappy at high revs - even in third and fourth gear - so not expecting too much out of my 17:00 run, either.

I'm finding the same thing with the ford gt 18, it is simply undriveable at this track. I get through 130r 1/5 times. The lift off oversteer in some of the MR cars is so uncontrollable. I hope PD fix this issue. I'm not an expert on this issue. But I don't think this type of oversteer is realistic. To bad but I won't be picking cars with this issue.

In Nations on Saturday, I had 3/5 disconnects across my 3 accounts. Managed to get a 7th on my main in slot 2. PD really need to get on top of this quickly. GT Sport online was so much better in terms of connectivity as well as the UI before and after the races.

Got in slot 1, finished 10th, 198 points, decided to go again...

Disconnected during the qualifying session. On-track. I think it was my internet...

I really hate having to deal with zero points due to a disconnect, that really needs to change... Even if someone disconnects intentionally, is it really that big of a deal, to the point you have to make honest people suffer?

You could draw the line to reality where, maybe you had a crash or mechanical difficulty in that attempt...that's nonsense though, a disconnect is not the car's or the driver's fault.

I'll take 11th from a 17th start and move on, pretty pleased I kept it on track and totally against my usual enjoyment, pleased it was only 4 laps! Without being able to adjust brake balance to suit a particular car, I may have to make sure I'm going in with ones I know well already which is a shame as it was always fun on Sport to mix and match, and adjust the bias to compensate for any handling clashes. I love the Mustang, so I'll enjoy the next one, but in no hurry to jump in the Ford GT again without being able to tinker just a little bit.

Another unexpected error for me at 7 - we go again at 8!

It would be great if it wasn't an hour wait but I guess there aren't enough players to warrant more regular races.

I wasn't sure what the conditions would be like for this afternoon's Manufacturers run, so bought myself sets of Intermediates and Wets for the sponsored Genesis just in case. Turns out that I didn't need them in the end, but it still didn't mean that the car was any less twitchier through low and mid-speed sections, especially Dunlop Curve and the exit out of the Casio Triangle. Thus, it was especially important that I kept snap oversteer to a minimum if I was to keep the good form I had been building up for the Hotel Bellevue squad.

17:00 Manufacturers EMEA

Full 20-car grid with no delays or problems getting into qualifying. Met Wifi Password for the first time on GT7 and made it out on track under darkening skies.

Right off the bat we set a 2:02.054 even with a slide through Dunlop, which is just over seven-tenths off my overall fastest time in Free Practice (2:01.400). Second lap I had to abort to avoid a recovering Nissan who went off at Degna 2, but already I was in a good position to start right behind the other Genesis in the lobby. Was surprised to find that I had still enough time to set another lap, though I couldn't take advantage of this by losing time in the first sector and running wide out of Degna 1. While I saved myself from going off, that was apparently enough to constitute a track limits infringement so lost the chance to build on a gradual improvement in sector 2. Lined up 10th behind my teammate and an M6.

The race played out just as safely as my now-regular strategy for the X GR3 - contain the snap oversteer as much as possible and get it home in one piece. Same couldn't be said for the silver and green Jaguar starting in 4th, who after running wide at Turn 2 would bin it just as we got to the end of the 'S' curves. Lighting was so limited that for the photo above I had to up the exposure so that the cars didn't blend in with the tarmac! Didn't want to overdrive the car just in case I would end up doing the same, but had plenty of pressure from another M6 in the third sector and almost threw myself off completely at 130R. Fortunately, the M6 had also done the same and his threat was quickly nullified as he slammed hard into the tyre stacks on the other side.

A Finnish Porsche also gained on us from that point on, and by the end of Lap 3 I had dropped back a fair distance from the M6 in front following sketchy runs through Spoon and the final right-hander. My exits from the hairpin weren't as good as those in Deep Forest, either. Still, did what I could to nurse the Genesis around, and a twitchy exit from the Porsche at the hairpin gives us the buffer we need. Enjoyed my fastest run through 130R all race to come home a solid 9th. Another 176 points added to my overall table.

Like at Deep Forest, I'm finding the X GR3's handling more manageable in lobby conditions than in Free Practice, and believe that there's still more speed to extract out of it in qualifying. That being said, it still doesn't feel entirely settled through mid-speed corners and I even binned it in a test lobby after trying to correct two consecutive bouts of oversteer through Dunlop. Short-shifting and partial throttle inputs seem to mitigate this somewhat, though at the moment I can't say that it is more comfortable in that area than a comparable naturally-aspirated FR car like the Mustang.

Laguna Seca gave me one of my biggest surprises last year with 4th place in the WRX, and the G70 seems to work very similarly to that in the one World Circuit Gr.4 race there. Hopefully there's a chance I might get it to work just as well in BoP settings as it does with a good tune...

Slot 3, strangest bug yet - after being stuck in the pits for 20 minutes, i.e. the usual, we went out on the track for 30 seconds and got stuck again...half the drivers are on the track, with a black screen, no sound, but with the hud on, having their cars driven around the track in cruise mode by the AI... Meanwhile, the other half is still in the pits, and so far 6 drivers have disconnected.

It just keeps getting better and better.

Edit: Now there's one driver on the track actually driving around, while everyone else is stuck. I can see them on the track map, and on the radar when they pass me...

Right...slot 4, qualified 9th, finished 9th, improved my result by a whole 2 points for a score of 200. I had a chance to get a better result but I went off track and lost the gained positions. The AMG felt kinda...neither here nor there. Having to force the car to drive on a knife's edge is difficult. If you don't, it'll understeer, or oversteer, no inbetween. Its main issues are a lack of power on the straights, and poor stock suspension settings. It does feel stable enough until you start pushing it.

Made it into the 9pm race! I notice my SR has dropped from S to B despite me not having managed to get into any races but we'll ignore that for now.
Qualified 7th, finished 5th.
Not bad - I need to get better at taking advantage when others mess up, twice I could have nudged my way past when the car in front put a wheel wrong & twice I think I was too polite so they stayed ahead.

The races are much more enjoyable when you get away from the dodgem racers in the midfield!

I again entered the 19:00 slot for GT2 and everything went off with no problems. I only got one lap of qualifying in after I had some troubles in the esses and placed me in P11. I had a few more tenths I could have taken off, but it is what it is.

Lap 1 has a Mitsubishi driver on my tail the entire lap and I had some more problems in the esses and Spoon with the pressure, but I stay ahead. They fade on lap 2 after a bad exit from the Triangle. A few drivers spin out and rage quit and I gain a few spots. I had a bad, but recoverable Spoon entry and exit but I don't have the speed to keep up with an Audi and a different Mitsubishi driver. I finally get my rhythm in the esses on lap 3 and catch up to the Audi and Mitsubishi driver who are having a great clean battle the entire race. On the final lap the Mitsubishi driver tries to go way inside on the hairpin, but the Audi driver makes a fantastic cutback pass and I'm just having an enjoyable time watching this. The Mitsubishi driver goes for a pass at R130 but cant pull it off and I am right on their bumper going into the Triangle. But I have no where to make a move and almost spin myself out seeing I could sneak on by at the end of the race, and finish sideways.

I finish P7 in the end and gain 92 points. It should keep me in the top 10 of GT2 Aston Martin drivers in the US. I'm having a blast with this and I should have done this stuff in Sport when I had the chance. I also found this shot in the replay too cool not to take a picture.

I still don’t get where Kaz (or whoever on his team) came up with the BOP rules. I have searched every racing league that has an online presence. Even when the cars have to be “stock” there isn’t a single racing league that completely bans break balance and suspension adjustments. It would be like watching the 100 meter dash in the Olympics and every competitor had to wear a size 13 shoe regardless of the size of their feet.
