Looks like the Toyota's will have their hands full with the Fords this this race. Good to see a better mix at the top of the time charts.

Any idea on the forecast? It looks like we have wet tires as a option is why I ask. And, I think that would add a interesting dynamic to the race.
No rain on the map. Wet tyres are always available

Full race test one: Viper

Fuel Map 1
3 laps short on fuel
3.5 ish seconds for 4 laps of fuel not counting pit in & out time. No tires. Win by 1.xxx seconds.

Test 2:
Fuel Map first 13 laps @2 Lap 14 on Fuel Map 3
At this point you will not be passing anyone even in a draft. However, you will finish with about .2 in the tank. And the 458 did not stop & won.

Try to stay with the pack for the draft. Falling out will cost you speed & fuel. Warning, the air from the car in front of you will pull you into the corners faster than you expect. Brake earlier and slightly harder if you are close to someone. Better to loose a tenth than run out into the grass. Lastly, stay above that dubble yellow line. You will get dinged 2 secs for being under it.

Races where done in Custom Race mode. GR3 Random. Pro level.

Estimated time between races 3 mins. Plan accordingly. 🥪, ☕️ & 🚽.

Did a race in the BRZ. Started p14 and finished P10 on a C/S lobby. Had to save fuel because I lost the slipstream train. It’s a fun race. Lots of bumping in the start and some people think you are their brakes.

I’ll go again. Maybe try the WRX.

Edit: qualified P2 with the WRX 😉

Edit2: finished P6 and had to fuel save again.

Qualified 5th behind 3 Alfas and a Genesis X. First couple of laps, the cars in front made little mistakes and I was into 2nd. Leading Alfa was about 2 seconds ahead but caught him as he must have been fuel saving. He made a mistake and I ended up leading for about 7 laps. He must have saved enough fuel behind me to just let rip and off the little Alfa rocket went. Couldn’t stay with it so settled for 2nd.

Short shifting is a way better (faster) way to save fuel than fuel-mapping.

Was going to say something about frame drops. I constantly get weird fuzzy flickering of the grass at the section just before joining back onto the loop after the infield. Is that just my PS5 or is that a problem with the track?
it is a bug that came with the last update , same thing happens in Kyoto and Nurb GP - i hope they fix it because that can ruin your race

AM Races

See if you can spot the difference in the view.. I had some network problems with YouTube on this video but it picked back up.
Bested a 3rd in the races so I'm happy with that.

PM in car camera.

DR Climbing! Turns out if you make me mad I drive faster and more focused.
Then you get dumped twice and watch that DR drop. 😒

18 points to 12 in two races.

Dynamic Replays (It is a long video, skip around as you like. Spoiler, I get nurfed in the irrelevance in the last two races)

In a 56 way tie for 1045th of 1742 with points on the board and 1727 total listed entries for the American(s) area.

Enjoyed today race!

Toyota Supra OP car? Hmmm 🤔
So entered 1pm (UK) lobby. DR B. I was expecting to see a sea of Toyota Supras but only 1 showed up. The rest were Nissan, Porsche, Peugeot and a few others.

Quali - Not a bad quali session, could have gone faster, but had a big head wind down the back straight so was good for a 1:48:050. That was good for P3 on the grid

Race - In the Porsche so no stop is quite easy to do. 80-85% shift on the rev bar. My plan was to fuel save on the early stages of the race while maintaining my position, and then towards the end burn fuel if required to catch or make an overtake. Get away cleanly from the start. Used TC1 of the line as I’ve seen people spin on the start with the bank so played it safe and then back to TC0. Lap 3 it was an easy overtake for P2, the AMG driver must have been in big fuel saving mode. Few laps later I have a Porsche behind me and its a driver who had some comments thrown his way in the opening lap for the way he drove, so I’m now looking in the mirror for the dive or punt. L6 and they make a pass in the infield section and we actually had some really good close side by side racing. Back in P3 now and I think ok just settle in use the slip and save fuel for a final push. Then the worst happens on L9. Heading into T1 I'm saying to myself, "fuel looks good, the gap to P2 & P4 is good just keep it easy and on the track" and then... i just clip the inside grass and spin off. Luckily I don’t lose too much time and I rejoin just ahead of P5. Within a lap I’m behind P4 and make an overtake. From then on in it was just a case of keeping it clean and trying to regain P2. During that phase I close back to P2 and also gap P4. With 5 laps to go I can run full power and I managed to gain on P2. Only 3 seconds with 5 to go. L20 I’m just within the 1 second window and I know the final lap I can pass, but!! The big but I make an error. In the bus stop apparently I over step the line and got a 1 seconds pen. P3 it is then. Cross the line 1 seconds behind P2. If I didn’t get that pen P2 would have been mine.
Oh well good race in the end. Wasn’t sure how the Porsche would hold up but with the only Supra rage quitting it made my job a bit easier. 114 points takeaway for my efforts!

You’re probably right, but even with short shifting I was a lap short and had to go fuel map 3 for a few laps. Maybe I need to be more aggressive with the short shifting.

And they still haven’t fixed the damn invisible wall before turn 1.

GT2 B - tried this race only once since i was busy with other things

Qualified P6 with 1.48.4 , not bad eh

I wish I could get that pace out of the Renault - stuck in the 1:49s, only good for around P10.

Euro GT2 (bottom split, near enough). Would have liked a bit of strategy, only 1 car pitted in my race so the fuel saving was clearly pretty easy. I only had to short-shift for the first couple of laps. Dropped back to P13 in the opening melee, got back up to 7th by the end through consistency and keeping my nose clean.

The Renault - good through the bends, great brakes, a sitting duck on the banking if anyone sniffed the slipstream. I did manage to break into the 1:48s on lap 18 so some speed there with a bit more time in the car.

Also, the graphical problems (some issue with flickering lighting) was very distracting, nearly had to quit the race at one point.

I didn’t notice the frame drops, although I’m playing with 120hz VRR on. I did miss the bus stop a couple of times when the sun starts to rise. Never happened before, but I couldn’t distinguish the turning point, if that makes any sense.

What a race that was! All hail the American V8s!

IMG_8371.jpeg

Goodish qualifying lap of 47.0 got me in the top 3. I’m not good on cold tires with the mustang and 1st lap was a bit messy, with me dropping back a place. The Pug in the lead just disappeared off out of sight GTR in front and myself got past the 911 and from there I spent the next 15 laps or so resting on the back bumper of the GTR saving up some fuel. Then lap 17, drama as the Pug was on a one stop. It came out the pits smack bang in front of us. It was now a 3 car shoot out for final laps. Then lap 19 double drama, the GTR had over cooked his fuel and suddenly just dropped out. 2 laps to go…I pick up my only pen of the race at the bus stop end of lap 20 🤦‍♀️. But I wasn’t going to get past that Pug, just too fast on the straights so 2nd it was for 218 points. :gtpflag:

I really hope I don't regret not choosing Ford again...

Again, similarly to my race at Interlagos this was a largely straight forward affair thankfully. My qualifying laps were again not the greatest, my best was scruffy and around 1:48 I think. Was good enough for 10th though. So to come away with a solid 7th place, is a result I'm happy with, especially with some great racing.

Knowing how sketchy cold hard tyres were. I was cautious at the start. The Ferrari in front was unfortunate to hit the inside wall at T1, otherwise everyone was pretty civilised. I wasn't interested in battling early on, so when a Portuguese Genesis X came by I didn't put up a fight. Ended up having a great race with them, and we used each others draft to save fuel on a few occasions. Thankfully with the Beetle, I only needed to fuel save a tad for the first 7 laps or so. After that I was able to go flat out, and finished with 0.1laps spare. Was also pretty even on tyres too, around 45% wear on the left, and 55% for the right.

I did get a 0.5s penalty at the Bus Stop on two occasions, so a P6 might have been possible. Though I doubt it made much difference in the end. So I'll take the 162points and leave it at that 👍.

There was just the one spinner ahead, and two Peugeot VGT'S who pitted after starting in the top 3. The 2nd of which made an attempted dive-bomb on myself into the Bus Stop on the last lap. Thankfully I survived, and karma meant they took themselves off. Onwards to the Nurburgring for round 3.

Went again in the final Euro GT2 slot in my main account AMG.

Decent qualification, pulled off a 48.5 for P6. An eventful first few laps. Carnage at turn 1, was up to P3 and then grabbed P2 before the second hairpin. Unfortunately I lost all feel for the brakes on lap 2. Ran wide on pretty much all infield turns, finally ended up nose to the barrier on turn 6 (the one back onto the banking).

Image (2).jpeg

Had to engage reverse and dropped to P14. Luckily the pack was very evenly matched and stayed very close for most of the race. Was able to work my way back up to P6 by lap 11. Had to short-shift all 21 laps but the AMG GT3 had some decent pace. Some great close racing in the midfield, mostly clean and respectful.

Unfortunately that Porsche was headed for a solo appointment with the John Cena wall before turn 1.

Sadly I got shunted off on lap 14, at turn 6 again, by a French bellend who'd run wide the previous corner. They quit before I could catch up and get some revenge, luckily. Once more I had to reverse from the wall and dropped to P10.

Anger gave me speed and I flew back through the pack and up to P4 by the start of lap 19. Sadly the podium guys were in a group 20s down the road so settled for that spot.

Image (4).jpeg

Not sure how to feel about this one. Clearly had good pace for my level but the top 3 were probably too fast anyway to grab a podium. Maybe 4th was the best I was ever going to do.

And here my season ends - I am on enough anti-anxiety meds already, I'm not adding Nordschleife racing to my issues. A few manufacturers to consider for the proper season. I'm still tempted to go Citroen for a laugh. I'm liking AMG despite the nerfs. A few Gr4 cars I don't enjoy driving rules out the likes of Ford, Aston, Mazda. Don't want to go meta like Toyota or Porsche. Any suggestions?

Raced in the two final GT1 euro slots of the day driving the McLaren in VR. And what a rollercoaster of emotions it was.

Race 1:
Didn't practice much but somehow my QT (1:47.2) was good enough for pole. Started off a bit nervous but everything went well until the final banked curve on the very final lap. Had a minor contact with a French guy who was chasing me, spun and watched the whole race go down the toilet. Finished 13th. Almost threw the PS5 out the window.

Race 2:
Failed the quali but the race went well. Started 6th, chased the top 5 the whole race and finished with a victory! Really pleased especially after the final lap disaster in the previous race. The McLaren was great here and could go flat out without having to save any fuel.

I just finished the first evening slot in the Americas in GT2. This round did not go as planned and I had a terrible race. I did qualify P2 so that was the only high point for me. I accidentally get into the back of the same driver twice and get a 2 second penalty for the second hit. I got some off track penalties where I never knew you could get them. I was the collateral damage of two drivers hitting the inside wall on turn 1. I spin out in the bus stop on lap 18 after I made it back to P6 after falling back after the penalties. I could not the car to turn in anywhere and it was messing my race rhythm and pace. I did have enough fuel to finish so I had that going for me, which is nice. Not a fun time for me tonight. I finish P12 and I was not about to run that again. Just ugh...

Ran the 1900 slot in NA, @afc5150 was in my lobby. Q'd 5th, knew I needed to save fuel and still would be 1 lap short. Started loosing positions the first lap, was in a group at the first hairpin and saw @afc5150 get spun. Pitted lap 3 and topped off figuring it would give me 2 Q laps when needed. Came out in 14th, 9 sec. behind 13th. As I caught him he quit and so did 12th when I caught up to him. Was catching @afc5150 and the one who spun him lap 1, there was a dispute between them and @afc5150 got a pen. I made it to the final lap battling for 10th between 3 of us. One of them was @afc5150's nemesis. In the last lap, entering the bus stop the nemesis took me out and himself, the third person in our battle made it through to finish 9th. I got by our nemesis just before the finish line for 10th. Overall a decent race until the last lap. Feel bad for @afc5150 as he should have had a better race then he did.

I was curious about how bad the stutters/frame-drops would be at the Nurburgring Endurance event, and I got the answer during today's Daytona event. It was an absolute stuttering mess in the first three laps when cars were close together, which I suspect caused multiple crashes. I myself had little idea where the other cars were since they were ping-ponging all over the place. I even had to brake early and go easy on the throttle to avoid spinning out, having little idea what was going on through the stutters.

The Nurburgring Endurance already stutters offline during WTC800 start to a borderline unplayable degree. It will be interesting to see how the event goes.

Some interesting things I noticed at the Daytona event:
1. At dawn, one driver completely went through the bus stop without braking or steering. Poor guy!
2. After he crashed out, I slowed down hoping the guy 3 seconds behind me would catch up and overtake me, so that I could use his slipstream. He got ahead of me but that disturbed his rhythm and he spun out. Same happened to one more guy as well, who I let ahead. At this point, I stopped letting more guys get ahead of me.

Good to see you out there @mobilmasher
:gtpflag:

Yeah, it was a dismal affair out there for me. Spun out by the Castrol Toyota on lap 1, and then he attempted to take me out again later in the race after he made a mistake and I was trying to get by him. The red mist got the better of me, and I flat out punted him off the track for a 3 second penalty. All to no avail, as I still limped it home second to last. Of course, Mr. Castrol left the lobby immediately after the race, the coward.

Only positive of the whole thing was I didn't lose my S sportsmanship rating. Won't bother going again. Bring on the 'Ring!

That was a frustrating one. First GT1 lobby didn't go so well, so regrouped for the 2nd slot.

In the Supra and I managed to Q on pole for the first time in a long time with a 1:46.9. I had already decided to do the 1 stopper so just told myself just pull away clean and try to put in some clear laps to lessen the damage when pitting time comes. So of course I cut the first turn too close and smash the wall right away sending me from first to 10th I think. Spent the rest of that stint catching back up to 3rd heading into the pits at the end of 18 laps with 7 seconds lead ahead of 4th. Come out of the pits in 6th, get jostled around a bit and a penalty or 2 later I cross the finish in 8th or 9th I think it was.

Good times :boggled:

penultimate lobby tonight in GT2. A slow driver in a slow car (Lancer), I used my tortoise and the hare strategy (I'm tortoise) because I know the Lancer isn't likely to be strong here. Got into a high rated lobby, mostly As and a few Bs (me). Not a single supra, mostly 911s and GT-Rs and I qualied P15 out of 15. Race goes about as I expect, got up to P9 at one point because of everyone's jackassery, but fell off to P11 where I finish.

With a CRB! (I'm about as proud of that as anything else tonight!). P11 in this race was worht more (91) than my P6 at interlagos, in fact, it was worth P1 in that lobby. Huh.

All in all, not bad. Heading east to the Nord, now.

Did the NA 18:00 GT2 lobby.
Got a 1:46.3 in practice while waiting for the race to start so I felt pretty on with what I needed to do.

Qualifying went okay. Was slowed a bit by the Supra that grabbed pole so I started p2 with a 1:47.09 with a bunch of 911s stacked pretty close gaps behind me.
Before T1 I already had one 911 pass inside while another sandwiched me from the outside.

Going into t2 I’m already p4 and just trying to keep cool and get through the first few turns without drama.

As I start sweep through t2 I get beat like a piñata completely to the barrier as far into the grass as possible.
I come out in p13 and knew I had my work cut out for me. I didn’t realize until watching the replay that the guy who hit me waited and that really helped my outlook on just how dirty vs accidentally hit me.

I had a couple people stick noses in and push me wide on the infield while I was pushing to make pace so it was a slog trying to make any time up.

Made it up to p4 by the time I needed to pit on L17 and once I was back out I was p9 with two cars just passing as I left the pit. I ran move up to p7 and would have needed one more lap to make it to p6 because I couldn’t get him reeled in quite in time.

One and done. I’m happy with p7 given the fight to come back. It would’ve been boring just turning fast laps at the front anyways. Right? 🙄

I knew it all had to play out just so to work and I was dealt the alternate outcome.

Updated:

Weirdest thing. The guy who took first was listed as B in this race and he is listed in GT1 as A+ in results as p43 in regional and everyone in my GT2 race was moved up a position on points!!!

No idea how that happens????
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤫🤔
