I used to really care about my DR, and managed to get to mid A tier for about a year. This involved preparing for races, putting time into qualifying and selecting combos where I was strong to either maintain or increase my DR. Over the last 6 months I’ve taken online far more casually. Often starting from the back and doing races for fun. As it is I’ve fallen to a high DRB and therefore into the GT2 category. At the same time, the races I’ve enjoyed the most have been the longer GTWS races. My new rating allows me to join a race with minimal preparation and generally get a good result.
To have the chance of participating in a longer race taken away from me because of the way I choose to enjoy the game seems arbitrary and unfair. So much so, that I briefly considered putting a bit of effort in to regain my A rating over the last few days. But that approach endorses PD’s misguided decision to split the player base in this way. As it is I’ll probably do a handful of Nations/Manu over the next month, and hope that my lack of dedication and that of the other players tells PD that they called this one wrong.
