I had black screen too, but i quitted after a couple minutes, didn't know it can work anyway
It was 7-8 minutes of black screen. Then full Q started. Only 7 cars stayed. I finished last. I was surpried to find out I got 79 points. I expected around 40.

I'm not the kind of guy to quit races, and I don't if I make a mistake myself.
This time I did quit, but not because of me.

16:00 Race

Qualified 10th.
Ok start, managed to overtake the 9th, he went wide on the uphill left bend.
Next lap, I wasn't smooth on the esses, and he passed me at the uphill left, retaking his 9th place. Clean move.
After this, it was a party with 1 South African and 3 Spanish folks.

They must think that if they are behind a car, they have to overtake at any cost.
From there I was hit several times each lap. Hehe.
The preferred maneuver from them, was the inside pushing pass ridiculous move, which have no penalty.

The last hit of a Spanish Supra, pushing me to the barriers, was the last drop for me.
Instant quit at the half race. :)

I will try the 16:00 now.

BTW, Jaguar this time.
Race 17:00

Qualified 6th.
First lap, P5. Second lap was hit by a Mercedes while 4 cars were fighting for P4 at the left hairpin.
P9 now. At the end was kind of alone racing, except when I gained positions when driver in front made mistakes.
All players with consistent pace, with not many changing places.

Finish 6th.

Not going to race anymore this event. Will grab the P6.

Cheers

Wait 10 mins for the 17:00 entry and then just before the qually room loads up, I get an in game error and kicked out the server. This really is annoying.

I did the 17:00 race, managed to finish 4th after running second most of the race and then a lapse in concentration going into the final lap meant I dropped down a couple of places.

When the race finished it got to the awards page where you get your credits but the game crashed. Will it have registered the race or will I have to do it again?

Today was a good Day for me.

2 Runs 2 Wins...

Not much experience at Kyoto, not sure how tonight will go. After doing some FP, plus the two Gr. 4 races at Bathurst and Laguna Seca, I really don't enjoy this class for the Alfa. I think I'll always use Alfa but I find a significant difference in enjoyment between the Gr. 3 and 4.

Also the fact some cars can easily clear that last chicane without braking is so disappointing. Unless I'm doing it severely wrong, you absolutely have to brake and downshift in the Alfa. Car just has no grip.

I’m finding the same thing in the Alfa, no grip at all and the rear wants to come around under even the modest of braking. I wish we at least had the brake bias for everyone

Has anyone noticed a real dip in frame rates in certain areas of Kyoto in the races today on PS5? Around the final chicane it was really noticeable and not ideal in what is already a difficult part of the track to get right

Yeah Mustang was horrendous at Yamagiwa, too much understeer for my liking, brake bias being forced to stay 0. I knew I took the risk with Ford, but this poor of performance with current bop is just ridiculous. Interlagos rd.3 should be ok for GT, and High speed ring with Mustang should be awesome, no excuses.

But the last 5 rounds I am skipping, not interested to race in the backmarker spots or midpack due to poor stock tune Fords. Done some tuning on my GT for a league, it feels like the car is from another planet with a decent tune, compared to other gr3 cars.

Nations will be my main focus in test season 2.

Kyoto was not kind to me today. :(

I started P12 after setting a 1:42.998. Right from the start of the race, the (green) Nissan in front of me seemed to be struggling. I ended up in a bit of an awkward spot where I'm eager to get past because I'm being held up, but I don't know where I can push because I'm following someone who's being very unpredictable. He/she hit the brakes extremely early for the final chicane on lap 1 which allowed the cars behind to close all the way up.

On lap 2 I gained a couple of positions due to an incident at the sector 3 hairpin and another at the last hairpin after someone had spun out. All seemed to be going good, but lap 3 was just waiting to add me to the pile. I got my trailbraking wrong at the long left-hander in sector 2 and went wider than intended allowing the (orange) Nissan behind to get past.

That sealed my doom however, as the orange Nissan got the chicane at the bottom all sorts of wrong. After outbraking himself, he took too much kerb going through the chicane whilst I was very close behind. He ended up having a proper tankslapper from the kerbs destabilising the car and veered right whilst I was trying to go around the outside, firing me into the wall. From there the wonky physics when walls are involved took over. When you're sliding along a wall and turning left, how on earth do you end up rotating right 90 degrees so you face the wall?

That dropped me all the way to the back by a fair amount and other than passing a BMW that made a big mistake on lap 5, I just spent the whole race driving around on my own in P14. Frustratingly I ended up only about 1-2 seconds behind the orange Nissan at the end in spite of everything, and the green Nissan I had been following finished P7. :ouch:

GT 3, definitely a level down from round 1. Spent a lot more time practicing with a different structure this time. 20 minutes with brake marker and visual aids on before getting into consistent laps. Watched replays of the top guys in areas I wasn't too comfortable in before another 35 or so minutes of just consistent laps.

Qualifying, was in fourth after two decent laps but had to pull out of my third due to traffic. Pulled a lap out of my ass to get pole which made me nervous as hell cause IDK think that's ever happened online before.

Into the race, second place crashed on the downward chicane on first lap so I had a .8-1.5 lead for pretty much the rest of the race. Early on I did check the fuel page to see if I needed to fuel save. Turns out I didn't so I forgot about it until lap 13 when I saw someone pit (Idk why they did) and apparently while fiddling I accidentally put my fuel map on 2. After I fixed that I opened up my lead and finished with a 3 second lead.

I know it's a pretty low level but it's only my second ever win and my first in GT7 so it feels pretty good. Especially since I have propensity to bottle things that should be in the bag.

Edit: on a side note I noticed that my car was ghosting on the middle chicane for some reason, anyone else have this?

I did not do this race (or any sport mode race for that matter) but I have a friend on PS5 who reported the same thing to me

I got home after running some errands just in time to jump into the 17:00 race (GT2). I did some practice but I know the track well enough from Sport and a practice session I ran last night. Qualifying stars and I'm on my first flying lap when a Corvette gets in my way and I crash trying to get around them and that lap is done. Despite the crash and being 10 seconds off the pace, I did grab P11 with it. The panic sets in of will I have enough time to get a decent lap in. I do indeed get some good laps in and qualify P6 one second behind the pole sitter.

The race starts and I find myself in P3 after a few laps. I held off the pole sitter who spun and I passed for a few laps but my small mistakes on the chicanes and going a bit too deep in some turns lets them get buy. A Jaguar driver also catches up and passes me due to the same mistakes. I do have a good 3 second lead over P6, but my pace falling off of a cliff lets them catch up and pass. I finish where I start in P6 and gain 98 points. There were some words exchanged post race so something must have happened mid-pack.

I wasn't about to run that race again so I'll take my points and run. Clean racing in the front where I was made the race enjoyable but very boring. I do think Yamagiwa is a good and fast track, but those chicanes can suck a butt.

Manufacturers Cup Test Season 2 - Round 2 - Report
GT1 League - A/S lobby
WRX GR. 4 - Kyoto Driving Park

I skipped round 1 for lack of time and wasn't even expecting to run this one, either. I notice they have a new connection progress bar during the matching. Only thirteen of us made it to qualy. Missed out on pole to another WRX by 0.089s!

The race started smoothly with a small gap opening between me and the leader as well the driver behind me. On lap 2 the leader crossed the grass mid-lap and I was able to get around him going into the hairpin. Shortly thereafter he spun into the wall with dirty tires and dropped to third. I began opening up a gap in front, not pushing too much, until the other WRX reclaimed second and started gaining on me from 4s back. We traded a lot of sectors but by the final lap he was under three seconds back. I took the last few turns easy and brought it home for the victory, by 2.5s.

The win was worth 182 points. Glad I ended up racing. I wasn't expecting such a good result.

Kyoto, one of my favorite cities in the world, was extremely kind to me today.

I am running Subaru for this manufacturer's challenge. It's great because I in the virtual world I don't need to worry about predetonation and smoking my ringlands as I do IRL. This allowed me to totally abuse some low RPM throttle application on corner exits.

The GT4 WRX is fantastically easy to drive and way more forgiving than the STi in my profile pic. BOP makes things weird and adjusting to a car that is heavier, weighs 100 lbs more, and has no ability to tune suspension or DSD/LSD adds an entirely new challenege to driving a front limited AWD car.

I won pole in qualifying and went on to win my GT2 race wire to wire all while managing the gap to the Lambo in 2nd. This is my first ever Manufacturer's series pole and win. I'm very happy with today's results. Hopefully I can get a good result in the next GT3 race and not completely embarrass myself.

Yep, it seemed to get worse later in the race as the sun set. Was pretty bad on my PS5, got very choppy at the chicane as you said.

Did one race and it was enough. Super boring race. Finished 2nd but considering I’m in the last league because I’m on a fresh US account that doesn’t say much. The payout was decent. 83k.

Let’s go for gr3.

Also, no issues whatsoever. I’m on the standard ps4. Everything went super smooth.

Kyoto is one of my favorite tracks really suits my driving style. Had the best race i have had with a bunch of respectful legends. Gt2 qualified 2nd finish second with lead changes 3-4 times. I love this game, despite its down-falls last nights race solidified my experience with gt7.

Check out this for the closet second place finish in history.

Slot 1: Missed because I was an idiot and forgot to look at the time.

Slot 2: Qualified 14th of 15 after putting in a lap that was 0.7s slower than what I managed in FP yesterday. Finished 11th after spending most of the race by myself (aside from some hectic opening laps) in 12th before 11th place either quit or disconnected on the last lap.

Slot 3: Dropped down a split and managed to qualify 10th in spite of setting a time even slower than in Slot 2, but unfortunately I qualified just behind the other Corvette in the race. In the race I fortunately got around the other Corvette on Lap 3, which was by that point for 8th place after a Jag ahead went off at the exit of T1. For some reason I could NOT get the 2nd chicane right, and would always miss my turn in, costing me probably half a second each lap. That allowed a Cayman that started behind me to pass me. We then both messed up the esses and slammed into the outside wall on the exit, losing a couple spots in the process. We both eventually repassed the cars that had passed ups, putting me back up into 8th until the Cayman got around me again. I spent the rest of the race sandwiched between 2 Caymans and finished 9th for 199 points. Had I not kept messing up the chicane I probably could've had 7th, but at least I beat the other Corvette who finished in 11th. The Gr.4 Corvette just can't hack it, especially against the AWD cars (who finished 1st-4th, with a GT-R winning, followed by 2 Atenzas, then an Evo). I guess I'll have to take these points and run. I was looking forward to High Speed Ring in a couple rounds, but the Corvette will probably be even worse there.

Ran the 8:00 GT1 time slot, must have been a slow room, started P6 with a 1:44.0 in the Vette. Not much drama, had a McLaren and another Vette on my bumper at various points but kept them behind me. Gained 2 spots to finish P4 with 148 pts. I'm on PS5 and also had the horrendous slowdown towards the end of the race. Weird part is the custom race I ran against the AI earlier today with transition to night had no such problem.

I was on ps5 too... i noticed the slow down too... I thought it was the janky "3rd world country" level internet Australia has. Yurns out it was something to do with frame rate?

Same here. As others have said, only in the second half of the race.

2022 GTWS Test Season 2 - Manufacturer Cup
Round 2 - Yamagiwa- Gr4 - McLaren
Lobby A+ GT1

Slot 1
It all started well, warm up was fine then on to qualifying...where it hung up for 6 minutes. After we chatted awhile, the game let us out to qualify with only 4 minuts left. So, it was a bit hectic and I had a terrible qualifying. Started in P8 behind a Megane and a Supra. I actually made some moves and picked up two spots fairly early in the race. Then the tough part, catching the McLaren and Atenza about 1.1 seconds out. Manged to wrangle em in and found a way to finish in p4! Took my 266 points and called it a night.

I haven't been around much the last few weeks so I may have missed something but is the BOP really off?

I didn't have time to put in any practice or even drive much lately so I was both behind in pace and knowledge of which cars are performing well but good God. I chose to sign with Chevy for this race and several times had Mercs blowing by me on the straights. I know my overall pace wasn't there but I could gain half a second on them through the chicane of awkwardness and the hairpin but that wasn't anyway near enough make up for the flat out sections.

Anyway, I did one run and finished P12 with zero practice. All things considered I guess it was on ok result.

I'm in GT2. I feel slow. Qualifying and finishing mid pack. I'm also blaming my car, which is different from your car but that's not important right now. :)

This chicane was doing my head in so I had a drive back around with the brake markers on and the game doesn't seem to think you need to brake for the left hander at all, just a touch on the right kerb entry so I wonder if the game thinks your car is sideways if you actually brake and turn as the corner dictates.

It seems to be incorrectly routed.

(Fair enough if players were taking this without braking but given the shape of the turn the game should still be advising a brake here)

I struggled in the Chevy as well mate, just no pace.

I played last night manufacturers and I also experienced FPS drops. Coming up the hill after the chicane at the bottom of the hill was consistently dropped frames.

Oddly. Despite several people citing connection problems I had none even though the game doesn't even let me play other online features due to NAT 3 connection (I have mobile broadband).

So gave Nations a go. Got confused with the compressed schedule and thought it was at Interlagos, but it was Sardegna. Grabbed my trusty Gr3 Jag and failed into the tail end of a sadly small top split. (I'm a second or third split driver mostly)

I was car 10 of 11, but qualified p9 with not a great lap. Got a great launch up to p7 at the start as people were too proud to use TCS. Then it was a race of attrition. I made it to p5 by driving, but my mistakes dropped back to p6 until someone quit due to a mistake. Bring it home p5. Nice race, some people a bit messy and I had several minor mistakes, but I survived and didn't have any big mistakes so I'll enjoy it.

Good luck. The Jag hated 2nd gear and that church turn where you have to wait for ages.
