Thanks. And where can i find the "same BOP"? There are low/mid/high at the moment, right? Did PD state which it will be tomorrow?

Sorry, not with ps5 at moment so can't check, but each track is supposed to fit into one of the three BOP settings, so when you select Deep Forest it should automatically apply the correct one.

Looks like they cleared the timings for Manu Cup practice - there's only about 300 people ranked right now, so must've been done this morning.
It’s happened within the last 2 hours. The wallriders were still there then.

I guess my time is now gone. Given I did 2 consecutive laps 1 thousandth apart, I’m fairly confident it’s repeatable. :mischievous:

I managed to join TheKie25's practice race on deep forest last night, but as a B rated driver in an a/a+ heavy lobby...

...this was going through my head being 0.2 / 0.5 seconds slower each lap:
cebe615e-91b5-4938-90ff-bc3a907e582b_text.gif

I feel it's only a couple of corners where I could improve but with the Silvia it is actually possible to run the tyres too hard at the start in comparison to some of you GT1 category guys (I noticed this in the second race). I kind of feel dejected a bit from the evening as I just couldn't get close to the low 1:34's during the race.

Naturally the idea is to have fun whilst doing it so will be having another go tonight to find pace and not be too bothered.
Hey, at least I can share the meme that goes through my head whenever someone starts to pull away from me! 😂 😅

When you are in an A(+) lobby and only 0.5 slower being a B drivers then you are doing pretty well. Most, like me, are several seconds slower....

Surprisingly my Vantage is almost as fast for me around Deep Forest as the Alfa - ahead of the GTR, Trophy and WRX. Think I may just run it in both races, hopefully should be able to manage the rear tyre wear as I'm more familiar with it.

It has a GB livery so wave if you see me. Probably doing the 8pm or 9pm round (BST).

Well, that's an ok round with a few what could have beens.
Made it to slot 1 so happy to have an early night. Couldn't link up a qualifying lap and ended up starting p13, practice times ha e me battling for pole. No idea where I was missing, but it happens. Make the most of the ensuing start and after some penalties and other taking themselves out I'm p9 and all over p8. Twas not to be.

They swerve in front for braking at the hairpin. They weave all over the straights. They go super defensive and if I get alongside they start pushing me to the grass beside the track. Finally I nail a gas cutback on the hairpin and they go super defensive down the main straight. From their previous behavior I should have known it was coming, but I ran them super narrow since they drove themselves there anyway. They start side slamming me to get back to the racing line but I hold it. Through turn 1 they push me to the marbles but not off. I nail it and am still alongside and pulling ahead on exit. They push me to the outside so I turn in to keep my wheels on track. Nope, they're not happy. At the left-right kink they hit me hard to the right. Dirty tires and a tracksuit track limit to boot. I drop back almost 4 seconds. Manage to close back to under 2 over the next 6 laps but that was it.

Thieving punk stole my p8, so I'm p9. Realistically wouldn't have been battling for more than p7, but would have been nice for the chance. Points were ok I guess so it'll do.

Very interesting race with lots of crashes and quits. Keep your head on a swivel and keep your foot down out there.

Unfortunate, was hoping we'd be a little closer to each other. I got punted out of p2 at the hairpin last lap by a bloke that seemed totally oblivious to his transgression

Honestly I wish they was a report button for these mindless idiots. But I guess PD would be inundated with requests every second.

So it sound like for @Redneckchef you had a driver that was using dirty tactics just to keep a P8
And @pennanton sounds like your driver wasn't quick enough to pass you so resorted to cheating, makes it even worst when it's the last lap too.

Such a shame for you but after a couple of laps I would have had enough of their idiocy. Kudos to you for keeping it clean.

I wouldn't say it was cheating, just that old mate clearly missed his braking point and somehow still found a way to hit me instead of just bailing into the run off. Also didn't redress the position.

I ran slot 1 in the Silvia. Nailed qualifying for Q4. The first 10 laps went well, I dropped back to p6 as a couple of other Silvias seemed intent on destroying their tyres to make up 1 place. By lap 10 I was hassling the back of both of them and the two WRXs who started 1st and 2nd. Entering the final hairpin I brake early to avoid a shunt and set up a run down the straight when a Slophy simply slams into my door at almost full speed and slides me sideways into the barrier. Absolutely livid as I regain momentum and have dropped to p11.

By the end I had worked my way back to p6 but without the murder, who knows? A win wasn’t out of the question.

My murderer was someone I’ve raced a lot without incident and they were apologetic after the race so it was pretty clearly a genuine mistake, but somehow that doesn’t make it any easier to swallow.

Such a disappointment.

Had a good little run out today in the nations.
All week in practice lobbies and the TT I was off the pace. Using the Silvia (a car I like to drive on this game) but for what ever reason I couldnt string a lap on this combo. I was in the high 1.36’s.
Pre race I decided to do one run and this was my only run.
Quali lap was a 1.35.4 which was good enough for P9. Not sure where my extra lap time came from but?
Race start my objective was to not fight for a place or lose a place (if possible) and just do 2 simple laps. After that I was cursing behind the car in front in a 3 car chain (was this you @OJBrit ID tag TPC-OJBrit) and I was just happy to sit there most of the race. Lap 6 we then came across P4. P4 connection was so bad, they drop to 1 red bar and then 3 yellow, every 5 seconds and there car was so jittery it made an overtake pretty impossible. Lap 8 or 9 the two car in front of me got tangled up in P4s jittery car and I was able to gain 2 places. OJB got spun out and I past P4 due them been slow but they then re overtook me next lap. Had a scare L10 as this jittery car was just ahead and due to the lag it stopped on the apex on the final hairpin. I virtually came to a stop got away with zero damage and didn’t lose too much time from the car behind but the laggy car was a pain. After that I had no issue until P1, P2, P3 and this jittery car (all in WRXs) all pitted on L10 and I inherited P2. Lap 17 the car that was in P1 on the new rubber was able to close the gap and pass me. Finished P3 in the end so very happy with that result after expecting a poor result.
Hopefully my DR took a nice gain from that result.

Had a good race in the end with one spoilt moment. Met @Roggers too.
Went and bought the Silvia after the tyre wear conversation earlier in the week.
Was P2 at 1 point in qualy although I eventually slipped back down to 7th as the WRX's got their rocketships out of the final hairpin engaged. Roggers was just behind me. At the Start I essentially settled in as the couple of cars who dared out qualify the WRX's ahead fell back. A Dutchman was crashing everywhere due to the dialup he was using. Of course he wasn't really crashing. But he would become an annoyance everytime he went full flying dutchman. For a few laps the Dutchman and 3 Silvias of a South African, Myself and Roggers were engaged in a close a fair battle. Some excellent driving considering the poor connection of the Dutchman and the distance to the South African.

Then on Lap 7 it happened. I was close on the South African and the Dutchman ahead had a penalty. We both went past into the hairpin. I was a split second late on my brakes and gave the smallest tap to the South African. They barely went wide but I slowed (though the extra braking, my narrowness and to be somewhat fair) The Dutchman then tapped me and as his 4WD engaged hit my rear quarter and sent me round.

I'm giving 'Max' here the benefit of the doubt. I was slower than expected and they were on dial up. Most likely clumsy rather than anything malicious. Though an apology would have been nice.
After that I was down into P11. I made positions on a couple of slower cars including a great battle with a Frenchman and through the 4WD cars (and a Viper) pitting. I made it back up to P5 in the end for a good result. However the South African's win and Roggers' 3rd had me sad that I would have been fighting for that final podium position with him without this incident.
A good result that still feels tarnished. Overall I am happy with the general great and clean racing and the P5. And of course finishing ahead of the Dutchman from not pitting. 😏

Definitely setting myself up for pure catastrophe at some point if this good luck streak gets any longer... That's now 2 wins and a P3 in 3 races. :D

I took the Alfa Romeo 155 as I'm significantly faster with it than with the Nissan Silvia, knowing my last few laps could be a struggle due to tyre wear. Qualifying was tight. My free practice best was a 1:32.950 but I wasn't getting out of the 1:33.4s and was pipped to pole by all of 0.017s by a Subaru, with a Silvia behind me in P3. That had me really worried, as I figured I would need to drop the Silvia and get past the Subaru ASAP. I felt my only hope was to get in front and wait for the Subaru's tyres to die so I could maximise whatever I could before my tyres went too, allowing the Silvia to swallow us both up.

Ended up, the Silvia dropped itself. :P It went wide at turn 1 then had to go on the defensive against the Subaru starting P4. With half of the job done, I decided I'd try pressure the Subaru in front. He made a mistake on turn 1 at the beginning of lap 3 allowing me back into the lead, but he went for it at the tight hairpin. After almost squeezing me off onto the grass as I had to go deeper and around the outside, we ended up side-by-side down the main straight but the Subaru's better in a straight line.

We ended up scrapping hard until the Subaru got a track limits penalty on lap 10. In the midst of our fighting, I returned the favour of being squeezed unnecessarily hard during lap 8, which I think caused the Subaru to graze the wall at the left-hander going onto the back straight. I'd normally feel bad about that but with how hard I'd been pushed earlier, screw it. Watching the replay back it is clean and I'd left more than enough space, but I don't like being that rough. If it's elbows out though, I'll pay in kind.

With the Subaru's tyres giving up, I eventually managed to break away after the penalty was served and stay there. The Subaru eventually got swallowed up by two Silvias and finished P4.

237 points for the win, so I've got 463 banked after two rounds. That's a very, very strange feeling. :P Also back up to A+! :D

GT2 race finished better than it started. As soon as qualification began it was apparent I was at least half a second off the pace for even the midfield. A 35.255 was my best of the week in the Vantage, only good enough for 12th. Even my best lap of the week in the Alfa would've only been 9th.

First few laps were manic in the midfield as I tried not to shred the tyres but still hold position. Some great 3 and 4 wide racing.

Got caught as an innocent bystander in a crash amongst that lot, dropped me a few seconds behind 8-12 battle and I couldn't close the gap. Got a big shock around lap 9 when people started pitting - thought I'd missed a memo about a mandatory stop! My tyres were doing ok so I soldiered on and gladly took the gifted positions.

Last few laps were a bit sketchy, 2 seconds off my early pace so I didn't fight anyone coming up from behind, just nursed the Aston home. 7th place hit my season target of a top 8 each time, so banking that one and moving on. Front right tyre was very worn at the finish but still drivable - those WRXs must've been destroying their's. I think I was amongst a small handful of no-stoppers.

Also, no road rage this week! Didn't put a single person into a wall or onto the grass (there were opportunities).

Everybody using the Alfa, Silvia (which has a horn, yay), and WRX. I qualified 15th in the Mazda, and finished 8th. Didn't stop, didn't crash.

That was an exciting 18 laps... 😴

Splits were very weird today...
First slot I was in a lobby that was a bit lower ranked than me (~60k DR, I'm 75k DR).
Second slot I was in 2nd (?) split so very high
Third slot was a mixture of both, with 4 top split drivers, then me, then again lower ranked drivers.

Was good racing with you tonight. All 3 of us in the Silvia had equal pace so was good racing upon till that point we met the Dutch driver. That glitching was awful, I got caught out with it the next lap after you got sent round. Shame you got spun out and like you say them final laps could have been close between us 3.

While hairpins create (somewhat artificial) overtaking opportunities they’re also ****housery generators. I braced myself mentally the whole race for it to happen and Lo and behold when I thought the pack with me was capable of hitting a braking marker it happened.

Ran 3 GT2 slots, very disappointing results - Q6/P8, Q6/P10, Q4/P12.
Exact same scenario: failed to get a sub 1:34 in qualif, struggle a bit in the first lap, get swallowed by the pack, drop some more positions due to race incidents / mistakes.

Compared to last week my DR increased quite a bit due to several Daily B win/podiums, and it did felt like the general level was quite a bit higher as a result.

Outside of the poor result, I actually had good time in the races, pretty much battling the whole time.
Quite a few different car, but a lot of Silvia and WRX. Reasonably clean driving as well, considering the track.

Also, the infield framerate was really bad for me (PS5). Especially the first race was a bit jarring, possibly I got used to it after.

Yeah, I was able to get 3 positions due to muppets there at the hairpin. The big problem with that one is that there are really 2 solid lines at that turn and they have different braking points. I nearly killed the guy who eventually put me off when he braked super early for a wild defensive line there. And it would have reasonably been my fault. All the videos I've seen have shown lots of shenanigans there.

The thing about mine was that I had been hyper vigilant all race to the possibilities caused by defensive lines etc and had seen a few incidents, but felt line I was anticipating really well. Like you, I had a couple of times where I avoided a super-early braker.

The one that got me was a car from the pack well behind me that took tge inside defensive line and then just forgot to brake. It wouldn’t have mattered what I did, a T-bone was inevitable.

After getting pitted the first two laps, I had an otherwise fun and competitive race, ended in P8. Deep Forest is a fun track, went with my Supra Gr4 since it's been my workhorse since the start.

Except for a couple of 0.500 penalties at the end that fortunally they did not affect anything, this was a very fun and clean race :D

Very clean :)

........

If you ignore what happened at minute 10:40 :( (it was fun fighting the belgian, clean duel before that :guilty:)

So yeah, this was my third race.
As mentioned above, in slot 1 I was in a lobby with lower ranked drivers. I qualified P6 (I was .4 off my personal best, so bad qualifying), but managed to get P1 (281 points)
Second slot I was in a much higher split, with e.g. Kie25. I only managed P13 for a meager ~190 points. P1 got 376 points in that one.

Then third slot. That lobby was pretty mixed, with a few top split drivers, then me, then lower ranked drivers again. Don't know what happened this evening.
I got my PB with this car in qualifying (1:33.1) and managed to get P5. As expected the top drivers were on top and the others behind.

In the race it was all about staying close to the top. The top 3 were gone soon, but all started fighting heavily towards the end. Me and P4 (who I overtook in the meantime) were getting closer and closer. Until, in the last lap in the hairpin, things escalated in front and they lost so much time, I was able to attack P3 to the line.
Unfortunately I was so eager to get on the throttle that I went too wide and got a .5 seconds penalty...
So even though I got P3 just before the line, the penalty threw me back to P4.

I still got 273 points out of it, with P1 getting 312.

Unfortunately I don't expect to be back in time today for Manufacturers, but I don't like the combo either way...

Welcome to the High Speed Ring festival of Wall Riding. Please do not disturb the wall riders or attempt to kmpede their progress. Deliberate wall riding will not go punished, but slight accidental taps of the wall will receive the usual 1.5 second penalty. Proceed forth and "enjoy."

Anyway. Qualified p9 with an unflavored Jag. Did my best and was looking to bring it home p7 after some iffy encounters and getting only a random tap from a deranged punter who took out a few other drivers when I accidentally touched the wall exiting turn 2 while refusing to wall ride. My mistake as True to FIA rules, deliberate rule violations are ok, accidents get the penalty hammer. 1.5 seconds and a p8. Front 7 were in the Corvette, Supra and GTR and wall riding the hell out of it every lap.

I improved my points, but this round is a joke. Complete and utterly ridiculous test of how much you can exploit their algorithms and systems. Enjoy or engage at your own risk. I was mostly ok with my race but by refusing to wall ride I was completely uncompetitive.
See ya next week.
