Well that sucked, qualified P2 but never in the race because of the extreme tyre wear on the left front so faded to P8 by the end.

The worst part is this combo used to be really good fun to drive before PD destroyed the BOP last update, in the long corners you would be balancing the car on the throttle to maximise the grip but now we have no power that is impossible, you turn into the corner nothing happens for a few seconds then you get to the exit and carry on, it's like racing front wheel drive Gr4 cars at times 😔

Hopefully once this season is done PD will fix their mistake and give us the fun cars back.

Committed the cardinal sin. Absentmindedly changed to another set of mediums while being first. 2nd didn't change tires at all. 3rd said thank you

After this disaster I decided to do the late slot as well and try to get a decent finish.

GT2, 101 pt lobby

Couldn't put a really good lap together and qualified 4th.

Decided to start on hards and pit after lap 1. I am usually not that good with tires but the Huracan seems to be a tire saver. I never had any problems after 17 laps of mediums in the 4 races I did.

None of the front 3 used my strategy which meant that I was time trialing for 17 laps now. P1 seemed to drive away from the others the gap between us stayed around 32 seconds most of the race. Does anyone know how much a pit stop loses?

I ask because I am not the only one that can't stick to the rules. Our front runner tried to pit on lap 18 but that doesn't work. Therefore I cruised to an easy win.

I managed to gain more than 10 seconds on all the others. I guess they must have been battling all race.

This was a lot of fun. Guess I will be doing Saturday as well.

I entered the 8pm EST GT2 slot and the less said the better. Not because the lobby was dirty, I'm a dumpster fire at this track. This and Fuji are the only tracks in the game I do not like to race on.

I qualify and P13 and only finish P13 after a few people forgot to pit. I showed no fight and just let people through to get this done and over with. I only ran to get some points because I'm more than likely missing the Spa race Saturday. And in my mind, points is points.

Another Wednesday night disaster.

First GT1 slot in the Americas (8PM EDT). In door #5 of an all-A/S lobby, driving for Jaguar, with 179 points up for grabs. @Canucks_9419 was there, too. Good to see you!

Qualified Q8 with a time of 1:43.020, about a tenth off my best.

I started on RH tires and went into the pits to change them at the end of lap 1, and... accidentally chose the 'No tire change' button. Went back in to the pits again at the end of lap 2 to change them. Came out in last place, P15, over a minute behind the leaders, with a 12-second gap to the nearest car ahead. Drove around the track for the rest of the race without seeing anybody. Promoted to P14 when another driver quit. Brought home 82 points for my trouble.

Predictably, nothing went as planned. But I’ll take a hard fought 6th, 236 points, and a slight DR increase on a track I’m not very good at, any day of the week. Was thinking of going again, but it’s not worth it. Think I’ll run some Sophy races at Spa to do tire testing instead 😎

Messed up my flying laps in qualy, ended up P14, then made a few costly errors lap 2, and ended up finishing 13th. Good news is, I'm not entirely hopeless on this track. I was able to catch back up to the cars in front of me, so pace isn't entirely lacking if I can avoid mistakes. As such, I'm going to try the 12am slot, and hope for a better result.

I feel like when it comes to tonight’s race in retrospect, I think the car - being the Genesis X Gr.3 - just may’ve potentially been at a disadvantage, especially with the recent BoP changes. Or, alternatively, I was simply out-skilled by most of the lobby. I do seem to have gotten about half as many points as I did in that first round where I finished second, though I’m unsure if that has much to do with it.

For what it’s worth, my qualifying time was a little over two whole seconds off the pole, and my typical lap time on the mediums was usually around the higher end of 1:44.

EDIT: I also pitted at the end of lap 15 to switch to hards. Maybe I should’ve started on the hards and then switched to mediums right after the first lap?

Messed up qualy again, and again ended up P14. Not a great start.

For the race, I decided to do 1RH -> 17RM. Previous attempt, I'd started on mediums to work through the field. My plan was to pit early, and at least let the field thin out a bit. Lap 1 ended up being a round of bumper cars. One in particular was a Pink Pig livieried Porsche that ran wide at Campsa after a BMW got alongside him, copped a .5-sec penalty, and decided to choose violence and PIT said BMW at the hairpin (earning a 5-sec penalty as well), before then taking out an AMG while trying to rejoin, and spinning an Alfa into Banc Sabadell, before getting reset on top of that. On top of that, a Ferrari lost it on his own into the hairpin, and a BMW got turned around in front of me.

I managed to escape all of this, and pitted for my tire change, despite that damned Aston from the Nurburgring round trying their hardest to ram me off at Europcar. It looks like he realized he was going to cut the corner and tried to get back on the racing line, and didn't realize (or care) that I was there. Maybe I should have left him a little room to get back on (though, in fairness, he was aiming to cut it well before the corner).

I came out of the pits in 13th after all the chaos. After this, the race was rather processional. While I was able to keep up with the Rowe BMW (at least, at first), I was never able to get close enough to mount a proper attack. Eventually, as the tire wore, he started to pull away, plus a .5-sec penalty on my part; fortunately, that was the only one I'd earn. As the race entered it's final laps, the Red Mist Porsche was closing on me. He'd qualified in P2, so it's not surprising he had pace on me. Fortunately, while he got close, he also could never mount an attack, and made a few errors that gave me some breathing room. As a result, I crossed the line ahead of him. Probably for the best that we never got too close, given this behavior at the start (Unbeknownst to me at the time. I was trying to keep my nose clean).

What I haven't mentioned is that our little group's pace was actually rather good. Over the course of the race, we managed to pass multiple others who pitted, particularly those who ran long on the hards, presumably not realizing the mediums could last the race. I actually finished a little over 7 seconds behind the winner.

The end result for me? P5, and 151 points. Given the previous run, and my poor grid position, I'll gladly take that. On to Spa, and, hopefully, a wet race for once.

Man that was tough… first time in a long time I’ve come across dirty racers.. got taken out second race last lap while in 5th. Last race almost got taken out again last lap for 5th luckily i saved my car from going to the shadow realm… Happy with P6 218 points but I would never compromise my driving standards to get a high position on the grid.

I should have made a bet for my qualy prediction! I had my worst qualy ever!
The 1st flying lap wasn't bad, but in the final corner i went a tiny bit too wide and invalidated the lap. And of course the 0.5s penalty for the next lap wasn't helpfull.
So my hopes were on the 3rd lap. But an italian thought it's a good idea to race me in the qualy. In La Caixa he was too late on the brakes, hit me and my lap was ruined. P14 in the end. Yeah!

I started the race on RH. Irght after the start there was a lot of paint swapping starting in turn 1. At turn 4 (Repsol) there was already a Supra-911-bunch in front of me which ended with the "loss" of 2 of them after Seat.

3 Gran Turismo™ 7_20250409194959.jpg

I managed to overtake one of the remaining guys and went to the pits after lap one, only followed by a french guy.
I could get away from him and had a lonly reace until lap 10. An Audi left the pits right in front of me. He held me up. so i had to pass him. It took about a lap until i got him, with several unsuccessfull attemps. Until he finaly went wide at La Caixa.
4 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – GP-Layout (ohne Schikanen)__1.jpg

41 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – GP-Layout (ohne Schikanen)_.jpg

After that i constantly increased the gap to him.
At the start of lap 17 a Lambo on RH left the pits. And he was realy struggeling with that tire. But my old RM were also not in the best shape anymore. So we fought and i simply couldn't get past.
5 Gran Turismo™ 7_20250409195800.jpg

Until he also went wide at La Caixa in the final lap. I saw my chance - and over cooked it. I lost the back and almost spun.
6 Gran Turismo™ 7_20250409195835.jpg

I could hold the car on the tarmac, but lost all the speed. Caused by the fighting and my code brown moment the Audi was suddenly right at my tail.
And he went for a questionable move, in my opinion, in Banc Sabadell.
7 Gran Turismo™ 7_20250409195916.jpg

So i crossed the finish line on P8. But one driver missed to change the tires and i got P7.

Not to bad after that terrible qualifying.
The cherry on the cake was, the driver with that penalty was that italian guy who ruined my 3rd qualy lap. I can't deny it made me smile a little bit. 😉

No i'll practice my "no rain dance" for Spa.

A 4 minute qualifying session at Spa? PD, April Fools Day has already passed.
Gotta do some one lap magic. Or maybe 2. Could it be possible that some will be able to barely make it into a 2nd flying while others won't? I am not quite sure on how far you get in a 4 minute window at Spa.

I will stay in the box till all will have left.
So it would be only one lap for me... but I prefer to be as much as possible alone... no pressure behind a none slower (eventually) in front of me.

However this will be a sort of "endurance" race and (hopefully) a raining race.
I don't know how much the qualify position will be relevant... for sure not for me that I will be trying to just reach the end...

Not going to be able to do this in GT1, hasn't anyone told PD that Saturday nights are for blasphemous heavy metal gigs! But I might enjoy a morning of binging GT2 races down under.

Will it be possible to do 2 races back to back? I imagine this is going to be borderline on getting it all done in an hour, especially if you have 20 laps of rain.

No, there is not enough time to do more than an outlap and a flying lap. Everyone gets one shot.

Most people will charge out immediately as usual, so best bet is to wait around 70-80 secs. You'll still have time for the outlap (you need about 2m30 in the dry) but should have lots of clear space.

You do realise the fallacy when you take a breath and read that back?

It’s a sprint race it’s always going to be close unless you go off piste.

I dint particularly like the format of this race but everyone has to do it the same way with the main or alt strat.

It is no different to a 10 lap single tire race but it has a period of lapping on your own
No, it is exactly not a sprint race. I wish it would be. The 1 lap on the hard tyres doesn't add any strategy, it only makes you race vs half the grid instead of the full grid (since on average half might start on mediums, half on hards). For me, this is just stupid and pointless. We already have only 16 drivers while in GT Sports we had 20, adding that useless pitstop, makes you race even vs less drivers. What is good about that? Higher tyre wear and it would be a whole different story...

Weather is looking very similar to what we got a while back in Daily Race C, with a stripe of random weather slowly moving across the radar.

I did a 20-lap test in Free Practice with a strip of heavy rain. The rain hit the track just after I was started lap 5. It accumulated fairly quickly through the lap, but I managed to make it around to the end of the lap to pit for Ws without incident. When I came back out, the moisture gauge was nearing the second tick. Once it reached that second tick, it stayed pinned there as long as it was raining. I was hitting laps in 2:38s during the rain, fwiw. The rain left the track on lap 16, but dried only slightly. I stayed on the Ws for the rest of the session. When I crossed the line at the end of lap 20, the moisture gauge was mid-way between the first and second tick.

I entered and re-entered the track several times to reset the weather to see how it differs each time. I noticed a few things:
  1. The direction from which it comes seems completely random.
  2. If there is rain, the strip is usually thicker than the one that I got in my practice session. From the looks of it, I'd guess this thicker strip would last to the end of the race.
  3. Of the roughly 10 attempts (sorry, wasn't counting), 3 had heavy rain. Most of the remaining ones were completely dry with maybe 2 or 3 with light rain.

Will it be possible to do 2 races back to back? I imagine this is going to be borderline on getting it all done in an hour, especially if you have 20 laps of rain.
If there's rain, it'll definitely be tight. My 20-lap session with rain was ~50 minutes. Add qualifying on top of that, and your pretty close to an hour. Should be plenty of time if it's a dry race, though.

So while a dry race seems possible, wondering if the tires will last for 10 lap with 3x wear?

The 17 laps in the yesterdays race with 2x wear equal 158Km (4657m * 17 * 2), 10 laps in Spa with 3x wear 210KM (7004 * 10*3)!
That might become pretty slippery at the end. But while the time you spend in the pits is extremly long in Spa, i doubt a 2nd stop would be faster.

Any thoughts?

I haven't done any testing yet, so I can't say for sure, but I expect that there won't be any issues getting the tires to last 10 laps at Spa. A kilometer at Catalunya is not the same as a kilometer at Spa. Spa has much longer straights where you are inflicting virtually no tire wear while Catalunya is much more compact. I'd be really surprised if the tires don't last 10 laps.

Here is a short recap of yesterday's : Europe at 22:00 in GT3

Recently I got promoted to B/S and had my first race in a full B/S-lobby yesterday. My qualifying didn't went well as I set one safe lap and then got a penalty for track limit and started at 12 with door #13.

The start was intense and close with some spins. At the end of lap 2 I changed tyres from hard to medium and returned at position 14. It seemed that every lap someone pitted and very soon I had no clou what my current placement means.

My Race wasn't lonely at all and the close racing didn't help lasting the tyres longer... I was tired from the beginning on but wouldn't complain because I am happy about more and later time slots. I did some errors and drove rather defensive what hindered another good result.

After a long time I had to experience a bad maneuver that felt with intent in the final lap. I will watch the replay and maybe we were all tired at that time but it was a desperate divebomb that put me back to place 11 (of 13). He got a penalty but I couldn't pass him again.

Slot 1 My pace was off and finished P13. Slot 2 my driving felt a lot better and was running in 3rd on lap 16 but I messed up and quick trigger fingered the wrong tire on my pit stop. So mad at myself for doing that but I redeemed myself in the final slot. This track is really fun without chicane. Even with the NSX already being heavy and added weight for this bop it still has good acceleration on corner exit.

Did anyone here have a good race yesterday?

I qualified 8th. My first lap was good, I made a mistake at turn 2 on my second. Coasted round not realising I'd have time for a third. I made it, started the lap and made the exact same mistake in the exact same place.

Decided to start on hards and get out of traffic early on. The grid looks like a mixture of strategies, looking back. 7th in a BMW was on hards too and looked even shakier than I did through the first few corners. Coming through the left hander just before the hump he slid on the kerb and I of course followed him, ended up on the grass and down to 12th.

I pitted and came out behind a Citroen with a 1 bar connection. I was about 2 seconds behind him most of the time until midway through lap 11, where I let the polesitter past because he had (eventually) caught up to me and was in a Lamborghini so I figured his tyre wear wouldn't be as bad.

Have you ever spent a lot of time behind a driver who's lagging everywhere? Every corner the car's darting around at random, on the track, off the track, tyres screeching, it's horrible. It's very distracting. I didn't really want to catch up to him because I didn't know what was going to happen.

The Lamborghini and I got caught up with a guy whose mediums had died and another BMW who had had similar misfortunes to me. We lost a load of time so the Citroen ended up getting away. The BMW I'd been following on lap 1 passed me and didn't really get away despite a huge tyre advantage, there was a Porsche with a penalty that got in the way, it was all a bit annoying. I managed a 1:43.6 on lap 17 with about 30% of my front left remaining which was ****ing miraculous, frankly.

I ended up in 10th until a guy got punted off on the last lap. Finished 9th. The laggy Citroen ended up 4th, miles ahead of 5th.

Just one of those annoying races where a bunch of small stuff goes wrong and it all builds up. My pace was actually very good, especially since I didn't practice on Tuesday and since it's hard to be consistent here. I can only really do the 6PM slot on a Wednesday so... meh.

Qualified 4th and finished 3rd for 317 points in slot 1. Almost managed 2nd but a little mistake on the final lap meant I couldn't catch the hard runner where I wanted to. I ran in clean air for the whole race and think I was off the hook as faster drivers tangled behind me. A podium in the GTWS? I'll take it! These lobbies are quick and my ego needed this after what happened in Interlagos.
