Q7 P7. Not a cloud in the sky. Finished 15 seconds off the leader. Forgot to check how many points I got. zzzzzzzzzzz

Oh, wait! One guy quit/disconnected while I was going up Eau Rouge and I lost several frames. That was an experience.

@Moose78 would you consider if it’s not massively to early running my Suzuka race? The supra isn’t that bad and I think this would have been been my strongest race but I can’t do it as I’m away :/
@A_Higher_Place it was said in SIC, I’m fine running 5 rounds out of 6. That’s why I’ve done them all and scored in them all, don’t over think it
One rather confused old moose here...

You're joking, right? Not sure if I should feel honoured that you chose me over all the much better drivers in this thread or insulted that you assume -- probably correctly -- that I couldn't get enough points to affect your final score, despite one of your rounds coming from parking in the pits. I'll take it as the former. ;)

Regardless, it's too bad you'll be missing that round. Could be a fun one.

BTW, what is "SIC" in this context?

It was said in complete honesty as if anyone could get me points at Suzuka I’d of picked you.

It was in jest, but honest.

SIC is an English/editorial term (Said In Context) it’s not used a lot these days because a lot of writers don’t care about the framing as much or realistically there isn’t a lot to say with context as a consideration.

I had done only maybe 10 laps of practice due to time constraints before hopping into the 9pm CET EMEA slot. GT2 mid B lobby for 105 pts.

As usual for me I struggled to get valid laps in free practice but happened to get a 2:20.4 as a PB.

In qualifying I missed a couple of apexes but luckily didn't have to serve penalties. Got P9 with a 2:21.5. The first 3 were considerably faster but after that we were a close bunch.

The race went extremely well thereafter. I had to avoid a very slow driver through Eau Rouge in the first lap and picked up a penalty but after that I had a clean race which is quite rare for me.

I managed to stay out of trouble and took advantage of battles ahead of me.

The rain never arrived and I managed to finish in P3 for 96 pts which I gladly pocket.

Well today I cameback after a stomch flu bug and completely missing Round 3 with a vengeance. An very eventful race for Round 4 at SPA as the heavens decided to open up early on and this became a very wet race overall!

GT3 League | 42 pts | EMEA Region | 8pm slot | Lexus RCF GT3 '17 | Door no.2 | RM tyres to start

Practice was good I was getting a steady 2:20min laptimes overall.

Onto the Qualy and I could not get that same pace in such a short time, finish in the very short feeling qualifying sesh with a 2:22min time that sorely placed me in 8th positon, but I was ok with that so that I could avoid chaos town at turn 1!

Onto the Race finally, all was smooth, I blasted out of the rolling start and chased a NISMO GTR to turn 1. All was good and some people nose dived the inside corner, I captilised and pushed forward and started chasing this french NSX driver. I was getting good pace at Spa, as I am very familair with this track and loves its corners. I felt confident to keep pushing to catch the NSX as he only had 2sec gap at the moment. By lap 4 I caught up to him and give a him a slick pass at Les Fagnes that gained me the lad on that position, which pushed me up to 5th.

Kept pushing and pushing and then by the end of lap 5, I noticed the two leaders pitting, but didnt really see the weather chart but didnt notice my wipers auto come on leading up to it, so I gambled in after them and realised after to changed to wets, it paid off as the guy in p1 was brit but he was still on his Meduim tyres, we all changed and exited th epist in a bunch of three. We quickly caught up to p1 and he spun out on the chicane with zero grip. I progressed up to 3rd place.

Then I pushed up to chasing a Porsche dutch driver who I was battleing back and forth once we both got closer to pole after passing spinnign drivers on wrong tyres. We battled intensely, I had the slight upper hand as e caught a 2sec penalty allowing me to get p1 for a bit, then he came back at me in the chicane to try and push away. I took i sbadly and got a 1sec penalty on the next lap. The rain was still intense.

Then I dont know how but he started to get his "ALIEN" rhythm in the wet in the Porsche 911RSR and I could not keep pace with him in the wet, maybe it was the layout of my Lexus, but the wet tyres were struggling to get me grip, his lead was crawling from 5-20-35secs per lap and i was shocked. I kept pushing and pushing but no luck, was just trying to hold onto P2.

Near the last lap we had a good battle three way with Huracan and Nsimo GT3, I lost a bit of momentum when the Lambo pushed to pass to gain p2 and I tried to catch him back until the end of the track but no luck, I had to settle for p3. It was impressive that he caught me as he was 4th most of the race, but kinda annoyed his tactic was to ram to get pass me, but,

Well it was a fun race, rain and all, look forward to sharing this and seeing Round 4!!

Well that never went well. I qualified P16 and finished 10th.

After a couple of weeks break from GT7, i decided to hop on today and do the final EU slot. I decided to sign with Aston Martin for this season.

Qualifying went bad. On my only flying lap, i clipped the kerb at Eau Rouge, which caused my car to run wide at Raidillon, and i received a off track penalty, even though i lifted off the throttle. The rest of the lap wasn't good either, since i missed a couple of apexes.

The first couple of laps of the race never went well either, since i received a couple of off track penalties, but i did gain 2 places because 2 people spun out. I then gained another 2 places coming out of T1, but then i immediately lost them because i once again clipped the inside kerb at Eau Rouge and ran wide.

The rain came in at the end of lap 5, so everyone dived into the pits to put on inters. My driving in the wet was a bit sloppy at first, but then i started slowly getting into a groove. I gained a couple of positions due to a couple of people making mistakes and 1 or 2 people coming into the pits for full wets, and i was now in P10.

Then i was catching up to P9 and P8, but then they dived into the pits at the end of lap 11 to put on wets, since there was a small dark blue band of rain moving in. I decided to do the same at the end of lap 12, since the rain was moving pretty slowly, so i thought the slightly heavier rain would last until the end of the race. Being on the wet tyres did work at first, and i had decent pace and i overtook the 2 cars that came in to the pits the lap before me. I also got overtook another car so now i was in P8.

Unfortunately the sun started popping out, and during the last 3 laps, the track started drying out a little bit, so the wet tyre advantage disappeared, and i lost 2 places during the last 2 laps. So i finished P10 in the end.

I feel like if i stayed out on the inters, i could've had a slightly better result. Overall the wet weather part of the race was really fun.

Slightly ticked:

In qualy, slowed down at the last chicane to give space to the car ahead. 2 Drivers behind dive bomb. I screw up Eau Rouge. Last.

But that’s not the worst part. Pit from 8th thinking it’s going to rain around lap 10. The radar is the lightest blue covering the whole track. I’m thinking it will get somewhat wet. Nope. Bone dry. Pit a lap later for Ms again. P14.

Edit: went again. Q3. This time the radar didn’t lie and the light blue meant rain. Waited a lap too long, still managed P7.

Q15/P10. I messed up a little during the qualifying and there was only a single lap to set a time. Certainly an interestingly tiny amount of time allowed for qualifying. I switched to IMs as soon as the rain gauge got above that first bar, but in retrospect, I should've stayed on the RMs, as I had to make an unnecessary second pit to get back on the RMs when the IMs were starting to run dangerously low. I came in last - but five people decided to disconnect, notably including the pole-sitter after I somehow passed him on the first lap. So ultimately, I got myself a pretty nifty amount of points, though I wonder if I should try it again later tonight?

EDIT: I think I'll keep the points I earned, especially since I gained almost as many positions this round as I did for that first round, when I got a Q8/P2 at a rainy Nurburgring. Plus this race still got me about 20 points more than the round at Catalunya.

EDIT2: Another thing is that I did skip the second round at Interlagos since I met with my cousin and her fiance in NYC that day. However, if I were to take the points I earned tonight and hypothetically apply them to the second round, I'd probably be in the top three Genesis drivers in the USA - at least as far as GT2 goes - so that's quite splendid!

Qualified 4th, in a room with @Disasteross. For once, I had a wet race. Wasn't able to outsmart anyone in the pits, because we all dove in for inters at the same time. I was running P4 at the time. Then the rain increased, and I gambled on switching to full wets. At first, it worked, as I steadily caught up to and passed most of the ones who stayed out. However, the track started to dry out, and my advantage disappeared. Despite this, I was able to work my way back up to P4 by the final lap. By that point, however, the track had dried out heavily, and my tires were going off. Suddenly, I was a sitting duck, and slipped back to P7.

I'll try the 12am slot, and this time stick with inters.

Did the first late race GT2(9pm atl),,,had a bad qualifying lap, started 12th,i was already planning to do the next race....just before the race started someone yelled rain,i thought he was joking,lol...sure enough it was started raining halfway through the 4th lap, made it safely to pits and put on heavy wets, fuelled up and hopped for the best,...not sure what happened but all of a sudden i noticed i was 5th...the rain never stopped and my tires were in great shape,on the last lap passed one guy who must of been on im's because he was all over the place and finished 4th for a 112 points....no need for the next race, quite happy!!

TL;DR: Didn't go as good as I hoped, but not as bad as I feared.

Race ended up being bone dry. I guess I get only one wet race this championship.

Qualified 2nd, and stayed there for the most of the first lap. Unfortunately, after slipping to 3rd, I misjudged my braking into the bus stop, and rear-ended the Porsche from the previous round.

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__7.jpeg

While he got away relatively unscathed, I got swallowed up by the pack, and quickly started losing positions. The worst was at Les Combes, when another Porsche dove up the inside, and I got held up by him. I ended up slipping to 7th.

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__6.jpeg

Shortly after, I tried to pass the red-white-and-black Porsche into Fagnes. He tried to defend the inside, I dove even further, then he moved to cover me under braking, and ended up pitting himself.

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__3.jpeg

With 5th and up disappearing into the distance, my race became one of damage control. Eventually, the Aston in 7th caught up, and we had a genuinely fun battle leading into the pit window. He eventually found a way past, after I went wide at Blanchimont...

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__4.jpeg

...and struggled with dirty tires. I was able to keep up, even after copping a .5-sec penalty at Raidillon, and we were right behind each other going into the pits. Coming out, I was even closer, as my car was a bit more fuel efficient, and was able to drag past him on Kemmel.

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__5.jpeg

Then, a lap later, I went wide at Stavelot...

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps__2.jpeg

...which allowed him back past.

Eventually, I managed to pull a switcheroo on him through the bus stop, and retake 6th.

After that, I ended up leaving him behind, while trying (futilely, it turned out) to claw back at least fifth. End result was P6, for 144 points. We'll see how well the GTLM suits Sardegna.

Forgive the shot, I had to screen shot from YouTube Studio. I can make up for them by giving a in car-tutorial how to. Title & Dis. have race start time so you can skip.

Back in the Forum heydays of GT5, I was racing with TPRA. My first online win was with them at Spa from 16th(+, X2?)
This time though, it's more river than race track.

Thank You for your time.

Looking forward a little bit, I really hope they've cooked up some fresh combinations for Nations.

I'm going to find it hard to be motivated if the schedule comes out and it's Gr.2, the same set of tuned cars we always use, Super Formulas, drivetrain-restricted Gr.4, Gr.1 (probably at Le Mans), and the X2019.

I ran the first slot in the Americas (8 PM EDT). I was in door #15 of a 15-car all-A/S lobby, driving for Jaguar with 177 points. I needed P13 to be my worst score.

Qualifying went okay. Posted a 2:20.981, which was 0.8 off my best in Free Practice. That landed me in Q11.

I had been hoping for rain. My dry pace has never been great here, but with some rain, I might have a chance at gaining some spots. When I opened the radar, those hopes were dashed. It was going to be a completely dry race. I figured I was going to have to run a perfect race just to hold my starting position.

gtws-mc-rd4-start.jpg

Started in the chicane -- thanks, PD -- but otherwise the race got off to clean start and everybody got sorted right away.

My goal of a perfect race went down the drain on lap 1, when I picked up penalty going wide into Blanchimont. That mistake would cost me two positions in lap 2, in addition to one more on the Kemmel straight. Down to P14.

From there, it was all I could do to keep up with the cars ahead. I picked up a few spots to crashers and penalty takers. I even managed a legitimate overtake on the Kemmel straight.

gtws-mc-rd4-overtake.jpg

But I lost spots, too. Came across the line in P12 for 96 points. Another mediocre finish in a season of mediocre finishes.

I'm sure they'll throw in a Gr.3 race, too, because when do we ever get to drive those cars?

If they're doing the usual recycling my hope is for a longer version of the RA272 race we've had previously.

Why is BWM always so high? I don't see that many when I race, are they just the default car people in the higher ranks use?

The Manufacturer rankings are taken by the best finishing single vehicle/player only.

That said, the two M6s are always among the fastest way around any track in Gr.3. About 50% of the field in any GT2 League race is 911s (the most-common by far) and M6s.

Don't forget about the SSRX race.

My expectations are clearly as low as yours.

Hope you're all well, I've been adulting, so not much time for race reports. Managed to do slot 2 of Spa yesterday for team Renault and it was probably the most enjoyable race I've had in a long time.

I managed to avoid getting penalties and it ended up being a dry race, even though I was hoping for rain. Attached the replay if anyone fancies a watch.

I'll miss Sardegna but I'm back for the final round at Suzuka so I'm going to get some early practice in. Stay safe guys!
