Title: I was fast enough

My car show number 13... so my expectations weren't so high.
As usual remained in the box with all the drivers leaving... I will have less laps available.. but I want to be alone as much as possible.

Qualify lap: 2:01:4xx... I am the fastest and qualified P1 :eek:

...and now my conservative strategy? OMG... I have to start with soft tires and pray...

Increadbly the approach of T1 and T2 were quite good, none reached me so I wasn't punted... yuhuuuu

I keep going, not watching timing neither gaps.. just driving and best concentration...
After some laps I recognized that none was overtaking me and the German 911 was at 0.8s gap behind.
At lap 6 the German spin and went on gravel before the hairpin and now my new competitor is over 3 seconds behind.

Change tires at lap 7? 8?... what shall I do?
I am lapping stable at 2:03:xx and none is pitting behind me... I will be in traffic... my race is gone...
Pit at end of lap 8 and back on track in P4 with an orange Mercedes in front of me at 2.5 sec and someone behind me at 3 sec gap.

This situation didn't changed until lap 12-13 when the drivers in RM changed tires and I climbed again at the first position... :nervous:

Again I entered in the robot mood... just checking timing before the hairpin and on the finish line... what happening to the other drivers no idea...

Lap over lap I understand that none is reaching me and the second place is 5 sec behind me and not gaining... (how is it possible?)

Finally on the screen the message... LAST LAP... and cross the line at P1... at Suzuka...:eek::eek:

I got 50 points for the championship and gained 2701 points for my DR... and now I am back at B level... 🥳🥳🥳

This manufacturer cup will also bring 5 mio credits !!!
Still a lot to learn... but for the time being really happy !!!

Cheers to you all

The last race of this season has me entering the 12pm est slot and its my only shot this round. I botch qualifying by going off track in the Triangle and settle for P12. I was on a great lap but got greedy.

The race starts and I get shoved wide by a lap 1 hero in Degner 1 and fall to P14. Which was dead last a 2 drivers quit previous to the race start. So, I hunker down and hope for the best. I went for a 12M/8S strategy and after I pit I'm in P8. By this point there were only 10 drivers left. I try for the last 8 laps and cannot get past a Mustang. I had the opportunities, but I every time I got close to make a pass I did something dumb to lose ground. I settle for P8 and am happy with that result. I was fun trying to pass the Mustang and that made the race worth it. My lobby got really spread out as P9 was over a minute behind me, and P6 was well ahead of myself and the Mustang. I'll post results tomorrow as I'm busy the rest of today.

Now my only complaint is that I don't understand why there is a need to barge through the field in a 20 lap race, with a pit stop. Just be patient and the opportunities will come. Getting run off the track put me in a foul mood for the race. I am in lower B rank and I get it, but let's practice some common sense people.

I'm barely hanging on to my DR-A, and a bad result tonight at Suzuka will likely see me drop to DR-B.

The conundrum is should I enter Nations now as an A driver to guarantee my spot in GT1 (where I will miss the Wednesday slots because they're too late for me) or just let the chips fall where they may and sort of hope to drop to GT2 where I will at least be able to do all the rounds...

Probably made a mistake starting on RM's after qualifying fourth. Got hit by three different people on lap 1. Finished P6. Think I'm done.

All in all not a bad manufacturers cup overall for me in EMEA GT1: Nürburgring P1, Interlagos P5, Catalunya P4, Spa P3, Sardegna P2. A lot better than I expected.

I'm right behind you. Been bleeding DR this whole season. By the looks of things, that is going to continue in Nations.

I'm still at 22% of the bar, so even a last place finish probably won't knock me down to DR B. Even so, I've been holding off on entering the season just in case. I'd definitely prefer to be in GT2 again where the time slots are more convenient. I'm not going to go out of my way to lower my DR to get there, but if I was close, I'd definitely be holding out for a chance to drop leagues. That's not advice, btw, just what I would do.

Now that the races are the same length in all leagues, the only benefit of being GT1 is that you can see how you rank against the top drivers. That is mildly interesting information, but I'd pick the GT2 schedule over that any day.

The Nurburgring was the only round where I've qualified higher than 12th. Just going to have to wait and see what Suzuka brings, but I'm not really expecting any better for the moment. I'm not bad at Suzuka, but I'm expecting to be at the back again.
Expectations subverted!

I qualified P8 with a 2:00.310, which was already a very pleasant surprise after the trio of back row starts I've had this season. I was honestly expecting to be starting at the back again. I started on the Mediums to go 12M-8S, expecting everyone else to do the same. I was wrong. Turned out I was starting between a Nissan and Supra who had opted for the Softs.

Lap 1 was a crime scene after a Ferrari made an attempt to pass on a Porsche at Degner 1 and pushed him off. It was also the same Ferrari that ended me at Sardegna in a very similar way... Up to P7.

I was keeping up with the Nissan in the train, but the Supra made an aggressive lunge at the hairpin so back down to P8. I stayed in the train for a while from there, then picked up a position on lap 4. A different Porsche had gone into the hairpin slightly too fast and nudged a McLaren that was mid-turn for a slight push-to-pass. The McLaren ended up squeezed hard onto the exit kerb and pit manoeuvred the Porsche trying to get off of it as it was ending. P7 again.

I then lost the position again (my usual Suzuka experience!) at the start of lap 5. A Peugeot had worked through the mayhem behind and got very close to my rear quarter on the run down to turn 1. I didn't think I could defend and ended up going 2-wide into turn 1 on the outside where I had to back out and concede.

The Peugeot started slowly dropping me whilst the Porsche who'd been punted off at Degner 1 had been slowly gaining on me.

I came out of the pits in P8, although it was net P7 as the Porsche stayed out a lap longer. In front of me was the Nissan, with the McLaren and Peugeot fighting a little further ahead. The McLaren dipped a wheel onto the grass braking for Degner 1 on lap 14 and spun it. Up to P6!

I managed to close right up on the Nissan but he was not at all prepared to let the position go. He was defending hard and I couldn't find a clean way past without going for some kind of insane lunge. This was bad news for me because he was on his Medium stint, and this was allowing the Porsche to push right up to me, only briefly slowed by a Lexus.

I ended up having to look backwards, allowing the Nissan to get some breathing space. I spent the last 4 laps in a tight train for P5 having to push hard to hold my position. Ended up finishing in P6 for 206 points which is a massive improvement over my lowest score from Sardegna (which turned out to be 120).

One and done. There is no way I'm risking that and I think I got a little lucky today too. That's been a nice finish to the season, since it's been a little demoralising after round 1. :)

I knew I shouldn't have bothered.

Started off badly as I forgot to put on RS for qualifying, started the race on RM's I just couldn't keep up really so I pitted at the end of lap 10 in 14th place, when everyone else pitted I was too far behind, as it's a short pit stop as it is only tires, I only know the people around me who pitted the same time were also changing from RM to RS.

When the race was over it still was showing me still in C rank.

Furious. I was in P3 with comfortable pace throughout the race. And some German Child in a Mercedes GT3 rammed me out of the chicane before the start finish straight into the litter on purpose. All those points gone. It’s such a shame as I qualified P3 and ran a proud and clean eace until then. Everyone was giving room and space but this idiot wouldn’t race fair.

Going to go again for the last Slot. Wish me luck 🙏🏼

Uploaded the clip, not to worry I have Blocked the Player so no naming and shaming. Just an outrageous move to behold…

I did only the 2nd slot, was in a Split 3/4 with 370pts for 1st. Qualified in last which I couldn't do anything to improve on, got lucky with some drivers crashing out which ultimately finishing 11th with 216pts.

I can honestly say this is the worst GTWS Season I've ever performed, was looking forward to drive in the McLaren again after taking a full year break from the car only to find that I hadn't got any pace in the Split I was placed in, the 650S has way too much understeer in the current driving physics since last year when they first introduced the change during the start of the Live Events which hurts my approach to corners due to my aggressive driving style, oversteer is non existent despite being an MR car so I had my Brake Balance set to +5 Rear nearly every round just to save my front tyres and all in all I just had zero confidence racing against drivers in my split because of the lack of pace while everyone has gotten faster as they adapted to the current BoP. The only time I had a great result this season was Round 4 at Spa but that's only thanks to the weather and my pace in wet weather conditions that got me a Top 5 result of 311 points, the rest I either finished near the back to just close to the Top 10 by luck.

I felt lost and had no idea how to improve, I raced on pad since my room isn't built to have a rig. I uploaded videos of my races in my POV and still couldn't figure out what I can do to be faster and consistent, I feel getting left behind.

Well what an eventful last race at the lovely Suzuka, a track i do tend to excel at and it seemed to show as I finished 4th overall and was very happy that this was one of my stronger races minus Spa to compete in the GTWS cup this year!

GTWS Cup - ROund 6 - EMEA Region - 9PM SLOT - SUZUKA - LEXUS RCF GT3 '17 - Door No.2 - RS Tyres start - 12TH start.

My practice session were ok I was getting an ok time of 2:02mins around Suzuka but the car felt very heavy and understeery biased, not sure why.

Then went into the 7min qualifier session and that didnt go as well as planned as I fumbled my last lap and could not get a real good pace with the LExus and only qualified a measly 12th place! Oh well i sucked that up and went into the race.

Ok onto the race, a good start of the rolls and chasing a dark blue supra into turn 1 and 2, it was bit chaotic some drivers spun out on turn 3 in the S bends and i jumped up a few places into 10th positon. I was pushing hard with the Lexus as I always do but the merit was that Suzuka was giving me good pace with the RS tyres, minus a few skids and minor twitches, I kept recovering good and taking exits clean to push up to 7th by Lap 4 and gaining on the leaders. They only at that time had a 5 sec lead on us. I really had to push the RS tyres to the limit and soem drivers pitted bit too early on lap 8 gainin me the places up to 5th place. I had chased a RCZ driver for 2 whole laps trying to gain 4th but it didnt happen until he pitted also.

I stretched out the grip of the RS tyres to gain 3rd then 2nd place as my tyres really struggled around Suzuka. I came in on lap 10 to do a quick switch to RM tyres and then headed out, a lambo driver regained his 2nd place. I struggled a bit with cold RM tyres as the grip was quite catching/wobbly. Then gradually they warmed up and I got my pace back into laps 12-15 which was a lovely battle with a another brit driver in a Porsche. I really tried hard to keep him at bay till then end which I DID. I was pushing in 4th place and trying so hard to catch pace on the 3rd place german driver in a guess what: Porsche RSR lol, but it was an epic 3 way train battle on lap 19 and 20 ever so tight, but I could not catch him to nail that 3rd place I sorely desired.

Overall a real fun race with a simple strategy that paid off and I look forward to register my rounds and repaing the rewards, bring on nations that will be quite fruity!!!

Oh boy, what a mess of a race from me, started with 3 sec penalty in the out lap, picked up .500 sec in the next lap and ended the quali last, managed to hit a car in the hairpin corner, got 2 sec penalty and raced by myself in last place, pitted in lap 9 for mediums and drove as fast I could, to my suprise I ended up on 11th place with 21 points.

That’s my crack at Manufactures done for 2025 at least for the Official Rounds.

Positives to take away:
88th in Europe/Middle East/Adrica for Porsche 🇩🇪
14th in 🇬🇧
563rd in the Official Standings!
2nd in My Local Ranking for Surrey
695 Official Points my highest to date for a series. My Target was 850!

My strongest race was the Nurburgring with a 169 Points & Podium if I can recall in the GT1 Class as an A Rated Player I’m quite satisfied with that. I could have had better results at Catalunya & Suzuka which were disappointing and sadly missed Spa entirely.

I will attempt a few rounds of Nations but won’t be too heavily Invested in those rounds. The X2019 is just not enjoyable for me competitively so running two rounds of that is a bizarre choice.

Tonight after I got punted out above just couldn’t get a Race fully together and had no pace at the end of my last slot sadly finishing P9. I think I’ll be retiring the Porsche moving forwards and may go back to Merc GT3’s with that straight line speed it seemed like a really good all rounder especially balance wise from what Steve (SuperGT) was able to do tonight in it. I also really enjoyed the Huracan GT3 in the Exibition prior to the BOP Change so we’ll see.

My day was packed but I managed to make the final slot at 11pm ECT.

GT2 B/S lobby for 93 points.

I managed to equal my free practice PB of 2:00.8 for P4.

1000012576.jpg

P1 and P2 seemed in a league of their own and P3 was considerably faster as well. Therefore I decided to start on the softs and hopefully leave the drivers behind me where they are.

P5 caught me through Spoon on lap 2 when I went slightly wide and had to brake extra hard. We had equal pace but everybody else was either slower or the top 3 who were faster.

Luck was on my side though. I tucked along in P5. The top 3 were battling and P2 and P3 ultimately crashing. One of them quit, the other fell behind.

I was constantly about 2 seconds behind the guy starting P5. I was slightly gaining but every now and then losing a second out breaking myself. Luck was on my side a second time however when he went wide in T1 and spun in lap 17.

I had a race free of major errors and accidents and finished a solid and hard earned P2.

1000012577.jpg

That was another race where i started last, and finished towards the back.

The race started and i immediately gained a place because the Alfa in front wasn't the fastest in a straight line. Then a couple of laps later i gained a couple of other places, due to a couple of people going off track and a Audi, who let me through after he bumped me during a rejoin. The Audi overtook me a lap or 2 later, since they were faster.

Towards the end of the medium tyre stint when i was in P12, my Aston became a roadblock, and i was able to keep a couple of faster cars behind me. Unfortunately those cars ended up jumping me in the pits because they came in at the end of lap 10 and lap 11 for softs, while i came in at then of lap 12, and i exited pits in P15.

At the start of the soft stint, i gained a couple of positions due people tangling with each other and going off track and i was now in P11, but then a couple of laps later, i lost those places because i just didn't have the pace, even compared to other FR cars. In the end i finished in P14.

I think I'll let fate decide and run slot 1 and see where I land. If it's A or B, so be it. Although like I mentioned, in GT2 I can at least run all the races.

Thanks @Moose78 good luck tonight!
This has been my attitude since PD started royally messing with slots and excluding lots of people with them. I know I complain about our slots but I know wide regions like Asia and EMEA make it impossible to do really good times for lots of people. If it's good for NZ it's garbage for a lot of SE Asia or Western Australia. I can imagine a lot if EMEA just gives up on it with what the times become for them.

Good luck

GT1 Americas | 10pm | 193 pts | Door #11

Qualified 12th, but managed to gain a few places due to the inevitable first lap chaos. Gradually worked my way up to 7th as people began to pit, then got stuck behind a pair of Porsches in the closing laps of the race. This little arrangement lasted to the finish, which earned me 145 points. Think I'll call it a night, and quite frankly, I feel like skipping the Nations cup.

Any of the usual aliens not in this time? I see a lot of familiar names.

Naif seems to be at the very top of daily races for quite some time now. Interesting to see him making it. It's a first for him isn't it?

You can see how much difference the top tier drivers make, Gallo and Drumont have absolutely took cars that aren't top 12 and forced them to qualify.

Speaking of Subaru in particular, anyone know whether the top drivers were using the BRZ or the WRX? The BRZ seems rather poor with the current BoP (and all the power tracks on the schedule), but I don't know if those at the top could make it work.

Races like this make the bad ones worth it. Well done.

I knew Ford will still be very mediocre in outright speed but still muscled it in a solid P60 in EMEA – thanks to a miraculous comeback win at the Nürburgring and a great P2 in the rain at Spa. The rest were just solid finishes near the top 5 and the 300-point mark.

It was a good season, but cars still have to be recalculated. Let's see in 2026.
