This manufacturers season got off to a decent start.

I joined the 4pm slot and i was in the same lobby as EERIEISSSS. Qualifying never went well since i messed it up. My first flying lap was clean but not that fast and then on my 2nd flying lap, i managed to take T1 much quicker but i messed up T4 and T5, which completely ruined my lap. So ended up starting from P12.

The race got off to a fairly clean start, but i did get bumped a couple of times from one of the Lambos behind me. Then as we were heading towards 130r, a group of 3 or 4 cars were side by side going though 130r and that caused some of them to be slow through the exit of 130r, which caused me to tap the brakes to avoid going into the back of a BMW, and that caused a Lambo to go into the back of me which gave me rear damage and the Lambo received front damage.

Then the BMW, a Lambo, and myself were 3 wide going into the chicane, and even though my entire car was sitting on the kerb, the Lambo and me made a little bit of contact and the Lambo spun around, which i was surprised by. Maybe they received additional contact from the BMW?

I was now in P8, and for the next couple of laps i had a good battle with the Corvette and 2 Lambos who were both on soft tyres. I couldn't get past the Corvette because it had good acceleration out the corners and good speed on the straights. I then made 2 mistakes which made me lose 2 places. 1 mistake was at T1, where i ran wide, which allowed the gold Lambo to pass me. Then i lost another position at the end of lap 8, because i tried a move on the gold Lambo going into the chicane, and i over cooked it and ran wide, which allowed the green Lambo to pass me as well.

I came into the pits at the end of lap 11 to switch from the mediums to soft. I exited the pits behind the corvette, Who had a 3 second penalty, and i also lost a place to the gold Lambo, who came into the pits at the end of lap 9 to put on the mediums. I knew i had to get past the Lambo immediately. At the end of lap 12, i had another good run on the Lambo coming out of 130r, and i went up the inside once again and this time i made it stick.

I was now in P8, and then i gained another position when one of the Lambos in front pitted. From that point i was on my own since i was pulling away from the people behind me. I finished P7 in the end, which im pretty with.

Been away for a while. With the new update NSX has more understeer but results in the tire wear being evenly balanced. Also it's still a little heavy but the improve ffb make me feel the weight transfer a lot better and with the tire model change slides are a lot better to catch. Had double upshift issues towards the end of the race in the hairpin which allowed the GT-R to get by and lost pace. Top 5 finish and I think it feels a lot better for me to drive. Think I'm going to enjoy driving again.

Actually, now that I consider my upcoming schedule - both work and otherwise - I don't think I'll be able to do this season at all. However, unlike the Nations Cup Exhibition Series 1, this isn't because I'm disinterested in the format of the races for the Manufacturers Cup Season 1. Just personal stuff going on, y'know?

I might've already mentioned how I'm basically working all day Mon-Fri, plus on Wednesdays I got my acting class right after work, so that leaves the 9pm EST slot only. Even if I did make it home in time for that round this past Wednesday, I got an awful lot going on these next two Saturdays. This Saturday, I'm attending a Valentine's Day-related "Stoplight Party" at a brewery that's a good hour to the north early that afternoon. Then, later that evening, I'm planning to stream Scarface (1983) with a close female friend of mine.

Then, the next Saturday on the 15th, my best male friend and I plan to check out the Audrain Auto Museum in Rhode Island, where they have an ongoing exhibit featuring racers of Monaco. Not only do they have a Lancia Delta S4, but they also have a car that's in Gran Turismo 7: a McLaren MP4/4! Granted, it's Prost's machine that's on display - as opposed to the Senna-driven car that's in GT7 - but still! Funny enough, it'll be the second Prost-driven racer I'll have seen, with the first being the Ferrari 641 which was on display at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC when I visited there in late 2021.

Ah, but enough about my busy personal life. This is just not a good season for me to enter in particular, even if it were like previous ones where they only counted the best two rounds instead of three. Besides, it's not like it's the proper GTWS. That said, I am hoping I'm not as terribly busy when the next Exhibition Series takes place. I totally would've picked Genesis for this ongoing season, too.

Late write-up for Suzuka:

Decided to sleep through the OCE slots, and rolled out of bed for slot 2 of EMEA. I was a little concerned with my qually pace - as I couldn’t seem to crack into the 1:57 range, but after watching a bit of Super GT’s slot 1 stream…I felt marginally better.

Not qualifying well was the story of my day. And a 1:58.5 was only good enough for 10th in a bottom feeder A+ lobby. Got collected in an accident exiting the Casio triangle on lap 1. Sustained front end damage. Ran it till end of lap 9 to repair and change tires. Made a bit of a run through the pack till about lap 19 when I ran out of fuel 😂

Slot 3 EMEA. Qualified exactly the same. Changed to Softs and did a splash and dash at end of 10. Got brake checked by a front runner who had fallen off pace on lap 16, sustaining front damage. Cruised to a distant 3rd place finish.

North America Slot 1 - Low 300 point lobby

Still couldn’t hook up a good qually lap - this time a 1:58.4. But it seems like everyone else had trouble too, because that time was good enough for 8th on the grid with some fast guys behind me. Picked up a couple positions early as guys spun off. By lap 5 I’m in 4th place and running for my life. Decided to go for the undercut pitting at the end of 9 - plus I was tired of being everyone’s lead blocker at the front of a 4 car train. Opted to not get fuel knowing that I’d have to fuel save later. Undercut worked as I ended up in 3rd by lap 12 after everyone cycled through the pits. But my short shifting and 1 lap older tires got the best of me as I surrendered 2 positions on the final two laps - and I had to defend for my life just to mitigate my losses this much!

5th place, an empty fuel tank, and 250 points earned by the skin of my teeth. But I could just as easily finished 7th. Took my points and ran, as I figured this was as good as it was going to get for me all day

GT3 Group

Ran out a few practice races for the GTWS Daytona. Then paced my way up to a 1:46 lap time. (Twice. If you run a series of laps, hit exit! Restart will not save your fast lap!-Yes, I knew. Hazard of :banghead: and age.) Anyway, I followed the fastest Viper as a 👻. 1:49 to 1:46 over a few hours. I'll take it.
