I was able to get on today by swapping my work from home day. (The swap was for football on Friday not the GTWS)
In qualy I set the fastest time of the day for me and it was only good enough for P16...
Even though I was in my usual range to number 1 on the leaderboard I was in a fast for my DR lobby. Add to this that Daytona isn't one of my best tracks I was in for a long race. I was hoping on incidents or mistakes to make up time.
Lap 1 and a Porsche found the tyre stack at T1. A Lambo also spun out of the Bus Stop so I was able to gain.
The group ahead were faster but as they were battling I was able to stay in the slipstream. I had a chance on a Porsche ahead but wasn't able to pass whilst giving room in the Bus Stop.
I pitted on lap 5 for a splash and dash. I was in the pack again and then on lap 7 I span coming out of the International Horseshoe. I wasn't last as the Lambo who spun lap 1 was still behind. I was in 14th when the pit stops sorted out but was obviously the slowest on the track. I was soon back into last place with the help of a half spin going onto the back straight. However the Porsche in the picture above still had to pit or had a penalty as I was suddenly surprised to see them behind but could not remember seeing them.
I crossed the line in P15 but was elevated to P14 as 1 driver had a penalty for not pitting. Not the best result but not surprising given the venue.
During the 2nd half of the race my mind was wondering. Given the news of the qualifying rounds earlier and the lobby I was in, I had thoughts of 'should I quit sports mode?' It's obvious that around 15K DR is my limit on GT7. I haven't done many sports mode races at all. Only GTWS. Most dailies either do not interest me, are on tracks I am poor at or I don't have the time. Yes this hinders my progression, but I do not feel as comfortable on GT7's physics as GTS'. I can handle the cars no problem. I'm just slower than I was on GTS. Even the GTWS is not the same. Slots on Weds mean I miss half the races. Lack of variation in combos. Less races. It now feels like a chore for little reward. I will do the next run of GTWS but it may be my final Sports mode races on GT7, unless I dip in from time to time. Just at a low ebb.

That race never went well as Interlagos.
As usual on Wednesday afternoon, i can only manage 1 slot and that was the 4PM slot, and i was once again in the same lobby as @bliprunner.
Qualifying never went well since i qualified down in P13.
The race got off to an okay start and during the opening laps, i was swapping positions back and forth with a GTR. Then i started slowly pulling away from the GTR during the next couple of laps and now i was on the rear of the pack that went from P9 to P4, and i was now on the tail of another GTR. My pace was mixed because on some laps i would be on the rear of the pack and then on other laps, i would fall 1.5 seconds behind.
Then at the start of lap 7, @bliprunner got bumped wide slightly at T1 by a Porsche, then blip got pushed further wide, when a BMW nudged the Porsche back into him. When blip rejoined, blip and myself were side by side going through T2, and there was a little bit of contact with my front right tyre, and his left rear, which pushed blips car slightly wide and on to the grass a little bit. I did come off the throttle to try and let blip back through and we ended up going through the International Horseshoe side by side. Then unfortunately a pink R8 rear ended him.
At the start of lap 9, i was now in P9, and i was just behind the pack that contained P8 - P4, but unfortunately i ran slightly wide at T1, which caused me to drop well behind them. Which was annoying because if i had stayed with them, then i potentially could've jumped 2 cars in the pits, because when we came into the pits at the end of lap 10, the Porsche had 15 litres less fuel than me, and the BMW had 12 litres less than me. Could i have kept those cars behind me? I think i could've kept the Porsche behind me since i overtook him later in the race, but i'm not sure about the BMW.
After the pit stops, i spent the next couple of laps closing down on P8 - P6, which included the Porsche and the BMW. I finally caught up to the Porsche, who wasn't that far behind the BMW and NSX, and i tried bump drafting him when i had the opportunity, but we couldn't really close the gap since the BMW and NSX were bump drafting each other as well. Then on lap 19, i made a move on the Porsche at the west horseshoe, so now i was in P8, but unfortunately on the last lap, i ran slightly wide at the chicane and i received a 0.5 second penalty, which allowed the Porsche to overtake me again. So i ended up finishing P9.

First slot, board 11, 338 points for P1
I was high on confidence as I set a 43.7 in the TT. But that wouldn't last long as...
...I got a .500 pen coming out of the bus-stop on my first hot lap. Not enough time to start over so that lap was ruined and the following lap was also ruined. Ended up with a 44.7, Q9.
Race itself was pretty tightly packed. Settled in with a McLaren, RX-Vision, and Beetle. I picked the Viper due to it's straight line speed, but I couldn't drop the McLaren on the infield; then we get to the ovals and he is able to keep up thru the draft. It's an interesting dichotomy to deal with, but it's all part of the fun. So there was some back-and-forth between us throughout the race which was fun. He did rear-end me early in the first stint at T1 giving me damage but it was an accident. Didn't help my pace but so it is.
Due to the damage I pit on lap nine: tires, fuel, and fix the areo. Come out behind the RX-V (who must've pit a previous lap) and took a few laps of fun racing but I was able to make a move going into the bus stop. This allowed the McLaren to catch back up and there was some more back-and-forth with him for a few laps after. Until eventually he went too close to the tires at T1 and stopped on a dime. About scared the shrimp out of me as I was right behind!
With the McLaren no longer in the picture I was on my own for a bit for the first time in the race. Yadda yadda yadda was able to chase down the Beetle (drive of the Beetle is very quick but it's.... a.... Beetle) and make the pass for a P7 finish (again).
One and done for me. Race is really fun but quite stressful at the same time.

I joined the 6pm and 7pm EST, GT2 races and both were a disaster. I didn't qualify well in either race and I was not feeling it tonight. I had no rhythm or pace and had an awful time in traffic. I don't know if I was late on the brakes or others were holding their brakes in the corners but I had tons of contact with others.
In the 6pm race, I chopped the nose of 2 different drivers who both retaliated on me. I didn't know I did at the time, but I don't think getting punted and rammed was needed. I retaliated on one of the drivers who also brake checked me in the tri-oval. Not my best moment. 7pm race was more of the same and I didn't want to run again. Oh well, nothing I can do. I'll post my final rankings tomorrow at some point.
It was nice to get back to get back to some GTWS racing in the end. I'll probably do the next set even though I have no shot at earning a championship slot.

I ran the first GT1 slot in the Americas (5PM EST). I was in door #5, driving the Hyundai in an all-A/S lobby with 184 points up for grabs. I wasn't expecting much from this race. In my practice races, I was rarely getting laps under 1:47. I figured if could do better than P12, I'd be doing well.
Qualifying went better than I expected. My time of 1:46.217 landed me in Q8.
The race got off to a surprisingly civilized start. Everybody more-of-less slotted themselves in line for the first lap.
As we were heading to the line, an Argentine in a Mitsubishi gave me a bump draft. I misjudged my braking point going into T1 and went deep, giving up the spot to the Argentine. Down to P9.
I wasn't too bothered by that. With this car, I knew I'd need to work with somebody if I wanted to stay in the race and the Argentine had shown they we at least familiar with the concept of co-operating. I managed to stay on their tail for the next couple laps, giving them a bump when I could to keep up with the pack ahead.
Over the next few laps, though, the pack really thinned out from crashes and penalties. Going into lap 4, I was in P5. And the next lap, P3. Things were really going swimmingly.
On lap 6, a Viper joined the party.
They were obviously fast, and also obviously not interested in working together. They had damage, though, so they couldn't pull away, either. As best as I could, I avoided fighting with the Viper, and bumped whoever of the three of us was ahead of me so we could build a gap behind us. It seemed to be working. By the time the Viper pitted on lap 9, we had built up an 8-second gap to the cars behind, IIRC.
I stuck with the Argentine Mitsubishi, who pitted on lap 10. I followed. We came out in P3 and P4, just ahead off the Viper.
Tne three of us stuck together for the next few laps. Then came lap 14.
At T1, I missed my braking point and swerved outside to avoid hitting the Mitsubishi. At the same time, the Viper took the corner too tight and snagged the invisible wall by the tires. The Mitsubishi sailed right through. I still held on to P4, but not for long. Stupidly, I forgot I had dirty tires and went wide into the grass at T2. That let a BMW behind me get by. Down to P5.
At the end of the lap the last of the late pitters finally went in, promoting me to P4. There was more than 5 seconds to the cars ahead, so I was happily settling into the idea of a P4 finish.
Starting on lap 17, the gap started shrinking. Rapidly. Like 2 seconds per lap. Something must have happened between the P2 and P3 cars ahead that resulted in them both being damaged. By lap 19, as we were exiting the infield, I had caught up to them.
I was obviously faster than the two of them, so I planned to play it safe and make my move after the bus stop.
Then bus stop gave me an unexpected gift. The P3 BMW got a track limit penalty. The damaged P2 NSX who had been leading for most of the race was easy to get past. And the penalty to the BMW made for another easy overtake. Suddenly, I found myself in P2.
It was an easy drive out from there to the P2 finish. 176 points.
I couldn't ask for a better result, or a better finish to the season. Good times!

Daytona has my number. All I wanted to do was better my first go at Daytona, which netted me 199 points last week…or whenever it was
Slot 1 - 308 point lobby. Qualified 11th with a 1:45.horrible. Got wrecked 1st lap. Race over. Ended up 12th through attrition
Slot 2 - 287 point lobby
Qualified 11th with a 1:45.3. Stayed there till lap 6 when I got collected in an awkward ghost-rear-ended-rejoin between two other cars. Took rear wheel damage. DFL or close to it. Drove it out till end of 8 so my tires would make it to the end of the race. Didn’t make up much ground. Couple of fun battles. Got moved aside twice by a couple usual suspects. Repaid the favor on one of them. Brazilians are awesome.

Hemorrhaged a little over 1000 DR for the day. Low score of 199 still stands 😂

Reminded once again why I don't really care about sport mode and just run the GTWS to get the bare minimum in bonus currency:

Coming out of the chicane, the person in 4th pits me into the wall and drops me back to 10th. I pause to send a choice message to the offender in chat, and by the time I'm ready to come back out of pause, the game disconnects me for being paused too long. 0 points, and I didn't feel like trying another round.
I'll have to settle for my 5 points for the manufactuers, which should be good enough for money in my state and county at least.

Have the same feeling. playing since 2019 i think and at this moment I just can't be bothered. 4 races is not a competition. And it seems like it is a repeat of the same tracks over and over again. No originality. It has been so long since a new race track added. The whole game just feels like it does not want me there in some way. Seems like almost every decision that PD makes is done to deter people from the game.
In GTS if it was a short exhibition series you had like 8 races, there were 20 cars on track and you had a variety of venues. Not just Interlagos over and over again. You had a real competion with your mates because you could actually have one because of the number of races. You just had proper seasons, not like it is now...
The fun of selecting a manufacturer is gone now that it is only GT3 cars. The testing in between seasons and finding that balance in the Gr3 and Gr4 you wanted is no longer and basically everybody selects the same few cars.
The penalty system is still a weak point, it has not really improved since GTS. Still rammers get away with pretty much everything.
Strange thing is that I actually improved my skills in GT7, I got better and had some amazing races and my results were better then in GTS. But the whole game in all is just a bit demotivating for me, and it this moment I can't really be bothered to compete.
Do hope that will change....

The cars only disappear from your garage when you choose again for another Manufacturers Cup. So if you never enter a MC again you keep them 😄. Annoyingly if you choose the same manufacturer next time they take your existing cars away and give you new ones so you will have to paint them and buy all the alternative tyres again. If you are committed to one manufacturer for the long haul it's probably worth just buying the car then it stays painted and you have all the tyres in perpetuity, then you don't actually ever need to use your loan car for MC.

I have wondered why in the hell they changed the manufacturers races to GT3-only, as well as give us both Gr3 and Gr4 still. It feels like they're falsely limiting it all since "well everyone drive Gr3, so let's have it be Gr3 all the races for maximum participation". Kills all the choice like you said, as well as feels artificial in a way I always felt off about.

I think the general opinion is that Gr.4 likely got dropped because they can't adequately balance the category when it has 4 different drivetrains.
The manufacturers with FF and 4WD cars always seemed to yo-yo up and down a lot in GT Sport with BoP adjustments.
FFs are the biggest problem since they're at a severe disadvantage whenever tyre wear is a factor. It was very common to see them completely dropping off the pace partway during a race or even needing pit stops when the other drivetrains are completely fine.
Whenever Polyphony tried giving them power/weight buffs to compensate, they became untouchable during qualifying and races where tyre wear is low. Complete all-or-nothing situation.

I am sorry that you are lacking fun at the moment as I had a completely different experience. It has been said a million times that we need time slots at wednesday evening, too, and they are all right.
This short series offered races I like with a few twists. Since the last physics update I finally enjoy the Ferrari 458 GT3 and went with them for the first time. Right now there seem to be stronger Cars but as a C/S-driver driving skills and faults are more important than Car data.
Yesterday I did manage to participate the last time slot of the final race. This time I spun in my first fast lap in qualifying and had to drive more safely in the second. This gave me start Position 5 (with door 15!).
At the beginning there were some accidents but I stayed unharmed at Position 6 and had a nice race with a spanish driver (who started as sixth and did end up second with door 9. Good Job !).
In the other two races I started from pole position and made unforced driving errors that cost me some positions. This time I was focused to stay safe and was happy with the outcome. No major driving fault, no major accidents and some clever fuel saving in the slip stream led to fourth place in the end!
So in the end I had a lot of fun and fine and close racing with other C/S-drivers. The Ferrari season was good for me and I might stay with them.
The credits are also welcome and I hope that you all will have a similar positive experience with the next championship. See you on track!

Only issue with that is that, for this series, EMEA Wednesday times are the same as Saturday Times, meaning that if you are out of the house in the day, or finish work at 5, or have to do family stuff when you get in, or basically have to "adult" at all, there aren't actually any Wednesday evening times at all. Final grid for all leagues is at 6 pm in the UK for example, which means for many folk either a massive rush and one go only, or just not bothering, in the past final grid was at 10 pm, meaning dinner / conversations / putting kids to bed could still happen before racing. Not now, sadly. My wheel-only account was at the very bottom of GT2 at the start of the NC this time round and still got the silver cup for top 25% in EMEA GT2 by sheer dint of being able to turn up for 3 rounds. This us why so many of us on here in this region have been very disappointed with PD's decision on Wednesday racing and the time slots used.
My personal preference would be for Exhibition series to be Saturday only, and for the proper series to revert to the old time slots on Wednesdays.

Yeah that didn't go well, it looked like a revenge bump by the BMW pinged the Porsche into me. I saw you coming and tried to leave space but perhaps not enough! Didn't want to fight it so lifted on the inside of the right and the pink Lambo ploughed into me for damage.
Still could have had a decent recovery but after pitting early and making progress I met pinky once more and they punted me in a braking zone for damage again. Watched the replay and they braked too late. Maybe not intentional, apparently they are playing in Brazil so their connection isn't amazing. Hmmmm...
That's racing sometimes. Helped my boy to a P3 in his 6pm B race so that made me feel better.

It was a short and enjoyable season for me. At one point I expecting that I wouldn't be able to make any of the races, so the fact that I was able to get in two rounds was really great.
As expected, picking Hyundai assured me the top -- and only -- spot in my Local and Domestic areas. I even managed the bronze payout for the Regional and Manufacturer (4th of 7).
The Hyundai is a decent car to drive, too. It's very stable. The handling is good. Power delivery is smooth and predictable. The only problem I had with it is that I couldn't get it to go fast.
That gets 7 of the 27 manufacturers out of the way. Of the ones that are left, all had at least one GT1 driver in Canada. There were six that only had a single driver, so that gives me my short list for next season:
- Audi
- Chevrolet
- Jaguar
- McLaren
- Mitsubishi
- Renault
I've been lucky that the GT1 schedule is decent in my time zone (EST). All the slots end up being in the evening for me. It seems like it sucks just about everywhere else. And it's silly that there are only three slots. PD definitely needs to split out the top drivers into their own league and give us plebs more slots.

@MCL1974 @OJBrit feeling very similar at the moment. GTWS seasons too short, too repetitive, too unimaginitive (like the pointless Interlagos sprint) plus the dumb daytime timeslots for working people. Outdated roster of vehicles - no Gr3 update since last May, no properly new Gr3 car since the Suzuki in June 2022. No new race tracks since GVH.
Added to the driving standards & broken penalty system I'm just not feeling any motivation to play, especially when there are so many other racing games with better content (Forza M may have a lot of issues but its racing car list wipes the floor with GT7).

Glad I got to do another slot so I could get 3 scores in, took P5 for 230pts. Had to go to work right after so I never was comfortable especially with worn tires. Lost P2 because I slid off the track but after that the drive was smooth! I didn’t practice that much so I’m cool with the results, can’t wait for the next season!

AMG was not highly chosen, it seems. I was second to Bonelli who finished 2nd overall with a 518 point gap on me.

As the main thing starts on April 2nd - 6 weeks ago yesterday - there's not a lot of time wiggle-room for another Nations and another Manufacturers (both have had Exhibition Season 1, so if there's going to be an Exhibition Season 2 then both would need one, by PD's own precedent).
Assuming that they want to leave at least two weeks before the start and to account for any updates between now and then, you'd be looking at a couple of four-race seasons starting March 5th, but I wouldn't expect there to be anything until the official event begins.

Back in 2022 when the game first came out we were getting 14 round across 2 seasons. Hell, even one of the test seasons was longer than the current seasons we get. Now we are getting 6 round seasons spread across 3 weeks
PD have always been unimaginative when it comes to setting up their races and the strategies (if there even is some) are always extremely basic or the same.
Lately however there has been no thought at all and all the races have just been repeats of ones used before, on tracks that have been used 1000 times. Interlagos, Spa, Suzuka have been done to death, let us race somewhere else for a change, there are over 100 other layouts to choose from...

I've been complaining about the GT1 time slots, or lack thereof, for years. Sounds like a lot of you are starting to get bit by how it's laid out. Seems like a lot of EMEA people are getting hosed because you're literally at work during a number of them.
The US times were pretty good for me this time around (5, 7, 9 PM EST... basically just the 5 one) but obviously that is not always the case. Some have been at 7, 9, and 11 PM during the week. Just because I am not at work at 11PM on a Wed, doesn't mean I don't have to be up early on Thursday to go to work thus that time-slot (and the 9PM on as well) is dead to me. Doing a 45 min, adrenaline pumping race starting at 11PM on a Wed when I am already mentally asleep anyway? No. 11PM, 2AM, would be the same difference.
The fix is stop trying to make three time slots work for literally 1/3 of the world. JUST GIVE US MORE TIME-SLOTS! Separate the super high DR into another category and just give us casuals the same 10 slots that GT2/3 get. It's not rocket surgery here. The more options available, the more likely the player-base will be able to do at least one.

The problem with the schedule isn't even really the timeslots on a Wednesday, it's having the races on a Wednesday at all. Back when there were 40 rounds for each championship and it lasted for four months, you had to do two races a week. Now the entire 'official' 2025 season for both championships combined is 12 races over a month and a half. The live final is in November. Why the rush to make it as prohibitive as possible to enter?

Not a number of them, for Wednesdays it's all of them if you're a UK 9-5er like me.
Previous seasons I was able to commute home, have dinner, get in a race in one of the final rounds from 8 pm onwards. Now there's no chance, and with the season scoring now being 5 of 6 there's just no motivation to take it seriously, for example trying to place high in the standings for one of the lesser picked manufacturers. I could do the Saturdays but they'd just be one-offs, glorified race Cs and likely in one of the metas.
The whole schedule seems very much designed for the elites, the streamers and the younger userbase with more flexibilty. Everyone else is being pushed out and asked to make sacrifices, and for me it's just not worth it anymore.
EDIT - Just to be clear, the issue really is the timeslots themselves rather than weekdays vs weekends. I remember in previous years we had people unable to compete because of Saturday commitments instead. Just give us more time slots, from early morning right through until late evening, so people at least have a chance.

The "proper" series could actually be done Saturday-only, we might lose an exhibition season but it could definitely make for a more user-friendly series.

- Both series to be best 5 of 7 to count (increasing from 5 of 6 to give greater flexibility)

Yep, the ONLY reason for there to be only 3 slot in the GT1 league is because they want to bunch all the GTWS players together in the same races to increase the points available instead of having them spread out over the 10 or 12 slots we used to have. Another design choice that is made for the 0.01% of players at the detriment and enjoyment of everyone else.
Like you have said, maybe we need another division for these drivers so that the rest of us can actually join in and have a go. With the recent increase in DR cap its the perfect opportunity to do so. Those in the new higher range 100000-150000 can be in the A++ division.
