Started 3rd, finished 4th, I'll take that.
Got punted off at the start, then idk got brake-tested in the final chicane so got a 2 sec penalty!

Well, well, well what an eventful last round to the Nations cup races. My second attempt faired better than the first, Thr first was ridden with stupid 3sec penalties galore, so I gav eit another shot and I'm glad i did.

2nd attempt - GTWS Nation cuppy - Round 4 - EMEA region - 4pm slot - Honda SF23 - Aston livery - Lower C lobby!

The race started off pretty well, I was trailing on turns 1 & 2 to avoid any hanky panky, crashing and bumpin, so was following the leaders and chasing their lines. Held off the pack in 3rd place and kept going onto lap 2.

Just as we approach near the S bends exit, this silly french driver brakes so late leading up to the fast right snap corner and punts me right off and I spin into the gravel. Was fairly annoyed but recovered the car and got back into the racing fold.

Pushed and paced my way back up to 5th, crash incident made me 6th place. Was chasing an italian sloppy driver, who kept boobbing and weaving and not keeping a good line. I did kinda exhuast my overtake boost, but it helped my gain somes places on the fast stretches and overtake. Some good battling with a french driver between corners back and forth between 3rd & 4th place. I pitted early on lap 8 and was 3rd, sqitched to RM tyres and went back on to play catchup again.

A real jostle to the finish line, the last lap was chaotic as I almost got punted by the italian guy on the last corner but held it and finished a respectful 4th. He got 6th as the other guy snipped him to the finish lien as he ghosted. A whip of 34-35pts collected.

Overall a good race, but could have had better conduct/etiquette on track and some drivers using bump to pass is really annoying, but hey, people need to watch their braking distances withe SF cars!

Started 4th - & Finished 4th with a solid race.

Look forward to see how much rewards I repaed, but onto the Manus cup this time on the 12th March! LFG!

First GT1 slot in the Americas (6 PM EST) in an all A/S lobby with 186 points up for grabs. I was in door #7. I needed to place P10 or better to improve my score.

Qualifying went fine. Posted a time of 1:38.645, which was only a couple tenths off of my best in Free Practice. That put me in Q11 to start.

The start was exactly the mess you'd expect in this combo. A bunch of cars were off in Turn 1. I picked up a few positions as a result, but got punted into the sand on Degna 1 and fell back to P12 or P13.

The rest of the race was a hectic blur. I pitted from RM to RS on lap 13 and came out in P9. Overtook one other driver in the pits the next lap and drove out to a P8 finish for 131 points.

Good enough. One and done for me.

We raced in the same GT1 slot today A/S (6 pm EST) - qualified P4 ~1:37. Finished P10? It wasn't lovely.
I'm the McLaren livery in your photo. Got rocked by an errant Hondo around lap 7? The collision didn't end my race, but I had lost my chance at the podium.
I did RS 8 - RM 12
Consistent lap times throughout and minimal tire wear until lap 8. Dumped it off T1 around lap 13 and ended up mowing the grass.
I had mentally checked out after that, seeing that I was -44 seconds off pace, I just wanted to finish.
Hondo respectfully let me retain my back-of-the-pack position while easily having the pace to overtake many times - I can appreciate the sportsmanship.

It seemed like a lot of drivers skipped this round. Maybe it was overkill by PD, having it as a time trial and a Daily A.
I did 2 slots and failed miserably in both. My best finish was 12th in slot 2. The custom slipstream has been a pain in the backside this season (literaliy)
I've lost count of the amount of times someone has gone into the back of me.
I only managed to score over 2 rounds, as Wednesdays became inaccessible due to adulting. So it's been my worst scoring season in quite a while.
I have more hope that the Manufacturers Cup will be a better outing. I've managed to secure some time on Wednesday, so I get to compete in round 1. Then I'll only need to make my self available for the other Saturday races.
Decided to go with Porsche, as I think it will provide the best all round performance for the 3 tracks I'll compete on.

A pretty decent result for a pretty mediocre performance. Usually in Nations Cup seasons there will be at least one round where I'm competitive, but not this one. I was bouncing around the middle to back of the pack in every round this season. Oh well, I still managed a bronze across most of the regions, with a gold in my most-local one by virtue of being the only competitor.

In related news, this happened:

Can't imagine I'll ever regret this decision. Nope. Bring on the wins.

I'm already looking ahead to Tokyo as I couldn't much care less about a sprint Daily C that is Fuji for round one.

Unfortunately the Tokyo layout is not the one I thought it was; I thought it was the one with the wicked chicane. Regardless, it's a lot of WOT (wide-open-throttle) straights so I feel the Supra will be OP here. And I think Toyota will be a popular choice as short of Autopolis it'll be strong at the other three tracks. Deja-vu all over again. Thanks, Kaz. At least it's a new track to Sport Mode... so we have that going for us.

With 15 laps and RS tires strat will be pretty straight forward in pit on lap 7.5 (since the pits are ~half way thru the lap) for new tires and no fuel. If there was no required stop, a no-stopper would likely be the strat. Maybe it'll rain but I doubt it (is it even possible on this layout?). We shall see.

I've also done some three lap sessions at Nord. I can tell you tires, despite being RH, will be a problem. They won't need changed, but they will wear quite a bit. And, at least in the Acura NSX, fuel will need an eye as well.

For the five lapper, a pit will definitely be required to change tires and get fuel.

However, I am expecting rain so it may all be a moot point; unless it's random as some races may be completely dry as we saw last time.

IMO, Toyota and Lambo/Ferrari/maybe Alfa will be the most popular Manus depending on which tracks people want to try for their best results.

Does anybody remember if it rained for the last race of official season last year? That was also Fuji/Gr.3/12 laps, so I assume it's the same weather settings.

While I don't think that helped, high downforce always kills participation somewhat + it was the first really nice weekend of the year. I'm not surprised.

BOP is another name for “Rigged Race”! Because world wide it’s not the same. Even in event qualifying on our own world wide I’ve noticed when I do everything right, braking and accelerating etc., I still only qualify 5 to 6 seconds back of the world average.

If you're 5-6s off the average, I'm afraid you're not doing everything right.

I'm rarely that far from the top, and I'm quite sure I'm not doing everything right.

Blaming BOP for it is... a mood.

I know I’m not perfect nobody is but BOP is not fair for everyone. I’ve been in race qualifying with rain when I can see others didn’t have any rain!! RIGGED!!
