Just did my go at Fishermans Ranch and congratulations to @Nebuc72 for completely commanding that one from start to finish. (At least, I have the strong impression you did - until I go look at the replay I only know you started on pole and then won.)

I qualified P5 with a 3:01.023 after a messy first lap and then getting caught in traffic a bit on the second. My free practice best is a 2:58.2 but I just couldn't nail down a sub-3 minute lap this time. The start of my race was a bit scrappy too, as I tried to get past the South African who started P4 after he went wide, but ended up clipping the fencing, being sucked into it and then losing a position to the Italian behind me. (Dear Polyphony, why are your walls made of black holes?!)

I got the position back from the Italian on the run up to the back straight as he put his hazards on and I swooped around him. I'm guessing he's another VR player who needed to reset their viewpoint. The rest of the pack had started to fall away at this point.

From there I started trying to hunt down the South African and moved up to P4 after capitalising on a poor exit onto the back straight on lap 3. That got reversed almost exactly one lap later though as the back straight jump threw me sideways and into the wall. I then kept P5 due to the big gap to P6 and took away 226 points for the night. I'm kind of tempted to go again as I've got a feeling I could go higher, but if I do I'll be getting dinner very, very late. 😅

Thank you! Something about this combo really clicked with me. Must've been all the Dirt Champions grinding at launch. I had Scottie hot on my tail for the start of the race but I think he got caught up with the French driver in P2 and they fell back a bit; I was ust sweating from then on trying to keep it out the wall.
Always enjoy seeing familiar names pop up. Makes the racing a lot more fun.

I did quite a few of them this morning without realising SR/DR wasn't impacted; I was hoping it would push me into top split but the points would've been about the same anyway as I didn't have the pace to win there. Not that it matters too much, a GTWS win isn't something you get every day!

Given the husband is home so I will be lucky to get one race in yet alone any practice, I will be using the gift Audi sledgehammer at a mild will to win. I just don't want to be the one that takes everyone else out because my life gets in the way of practicing 🙃 😕 😪

Can’t say I enjoyed that very much. Never been able to get the hang of rally driving with a pad, especially the really slow corners.

Couldn’t figure out the turbo lag on the Focus so ended up using the “dumb fake” Mustang. Q12, finished P10. Mixed lobby with a few higher tier drivers, guess not many doing this as that hasn’t happened for a while. Damn my top level SR for putting me in their race, being clean doesn’t pay.

This was quite fun.
Qualified P8 with my 1 lap.
However I mucked up T1 and broke late causing me to sail into the rock hard plastic barrier. I only dropped to P13. I did gain a position or 2 on the first lap as a few cars ghosted with issues. This left me on the tail of a Spaniard and we kept pace with each other. We were quicker in different areas and a bit of swapping happened. Eventually I managed to pull a gap on lap 5. Due to a few other incidents across the race I was now P6 which is where I finished. That was my target and I gained a massive 1 extra point for my totals.

I have never come to grips with rallying in GT. There are just some seriously weird things that I can’t wrap my head around. In real rally cars, the difference between driving on the compacted gravel and the loose stuff is huge. In GT, it seems to make no difference. And the physics of leaving the ground are so unrealistic. It’s like the cars are filled with helium and subject to drifting from the smallest of breezes.

This round didn’t improve any of that for me. P7, 177 points and a lot of frustration means I’m one and done.

At least I got to have a fun battle with @Raptor013 for a few laps.
I have to agree. Having competed in rallies in the real world. Nothing translates across into the GT events.

That said last night's race was fun.

I’ve never understood why rallying even makes it into GT. If it was a solo time trial, you know, like actual rallying, then maybe. But having multiple cars on the course at the same time, no thanks.

Did 2 runs tonight and definitely had fun. I had a best time in both races and not too much in the way of mess ups so my results were best I was able to do which was at the tail end of both races. P9 in the first race and p12 in the last race of the evening.

Neverthesamecar was in my first race and Egghaus was in the last race with a bunch of big guns and he did quite better in the group than I did 😉
Congrats to the gtp guys! Good seeing folks out there.

Decent fun, but my pace was embbarassing for a high A DR driver at Fisherman's Ranch. From P11 to P11. Doing laps around 3.06-3.08 🫣😅 49 seconds of the lead (I spun put once just cost me maybe 5 secs) and 20 sec from P10. Guess I won't do this race in sport mode next time, I thought my pace would have been better here 🤔 But I should be ok in rallies, as long as I get 4WD in the simpler rally layouts (Sardegna Windmills and Colorado Springs).

A rarity in the Gran Turismo universe, two rally events in two weeks. It was enough to acquire the last trophy that was missing, 50 online races (need PS Plus for). I made 54 races and appeared, not one, but two trophies, also the platinum. Yesterday I did four races at Ranch. Great, I won all, pole positions inclusive, clean races, faster laps, in qualification I left last to exchange ideas at, until then 1st, which went to 2nd place, with differences of 3 or 4 seconds. My best time in the table was 2,53,303, it was the best European time, in the 23rd place (in a total of +-5,400 drivers) just behind the Japanese's, two or three Australians, and one Canadian, this one even had 3 profiles in the 6 top places. Conclusion, it was very funny and that more rally appears in the GT.

Have cleared my schedule for Saturday. Looking forward to the closest thing to an endurance race we’re likely to get.

Still undecided between the ‘18 GT or the Mustang. GT is a bit quicker for me and I think is slightly leaner on fuel, but much more chance of binning it.

Agree😄

Anyone know for sure if there'll be rain on Saturday at Spa? The race is going to be pushing an hour long even without it (including qualifying). Not that it's a bad thing, just trying to prepare myself!

I picked Lexus... I might be regretting that.

From what I can tell it'll be different each time, @Pfei had no rain in their TT session but I know others who've had rain at different times in their sessions

I've done three sessions. First one was no rain, 25 laps. Second was rain but I only did a couple laps. Third was rain quickly tapering to light rain and then no rain and a drying track. I think I did about 12 laps on that third session.
It's completely dynamic weather.
So, basically, be prepared for anything? BTW, do we have any kind of indication of what conditions the track is in before qualy and race start?

Track state in practice should mirror qualifying and the race, so just enter warm-up to see if it's wet/raining or not.

So then, does the free practice session constantly vary over time, but is the same for everyone at any given time? Is that question even understandable? For example, if you and I jump in right now will we both have the exact same conditions? Or is it totally random?

Also, there is no warm up before race. Is there a weather indicator or will conditions be the same as when qualy ended?

Sorry, this will be my first Sport Mode race with weather conditions.

Best idea is to prepare for rain, and then check the reports from the early Asian slots to see if the race sessions are as random as the practice ones.

Nothing wrong with a bit of unpredictability.

So this race on Saturday is going to be crazy!
Just doing a bit of TT now and the weather is pot luck! Might rain, might not, might rain a lot, might rain very little. The only thing I do know is being on the wrong tyre will destroy your race. So after finding a good weather pattern I finally got the dry/wet transition and soon as the water indicator gets to the intermediate stage you need to box asap. The hard tyres have zero grip I found. Also the inters don’t feel too great either if the indicator is just below the final 3rd box. Going to be a very tricky race this.

I can only do 1 run (maybe 2 at a push) on Saturday as I’m out in the afternoon.

The separate practice session is totally random - I just mean once you enter the actual race slot.

There is a warm-up session for the race when everyone is loading in; that is when you can enter the track to see the weather conditions for qualifying and the race.

Unless he can duplicate himself he has to limit himself to just the one car. Driving both might be beyond anyone's skills.

Do we know if you can use a different car from your manufacturer in the same round? Start with the Mustang, then next slot in the 2018 GT, then later in one of the older GTs.

I’ve never actually tried when there has been multiple options available.

For those of us that race in VR the lack of a leaderboard is going to be painful in this race. I'll be all alone out there strategy-wise. Absolutely no possibility to react to other strategies or know if mine is working.

You can. You have the choice before entering any of the races to pick your car
