Graphic Card Problem (I think)

Well here's the problem. I have an Nvidia Vanta LT graphics card and every time I boot up a game it changes the screen size, but not the resolution. So when I play Quake 2 It'll be in full screen 800 by 600, and when I exit the resolution will still be in 800 x 600, but the size has shrunk considerably. I'll get a shot up soon. Any thoughts?

How old is your monitor? It might be on the way out. Does this problem occur on any other game?

Yes, on Roller Coaster Tycoon and whenever I try to compile my level in Genesis 3D. Heres a shot of the scrunched up screen.

You just proved it was your monitor. When you Print Screen, it takes the screenshot from the memory buffer on your video card. When that image gets displayed on the monitor, it gets distorted because something wrong with the monitor.

But if that is from the video card how come the colours are all stuffed up? - Is it because he's running a low colour depth or is it just because its a .GIF image?

EDIT: I see, yup its because it's a GIF.
