I think missing 'Smack my bitch up' by The Prodigy off the list is a massive oversite.

Back when I was in HS it was Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, maybe a little Type O Negative. The soundtrack to Dracula worked really well.

These days it would be a little more easy going. Maybe some good piano music, a little jazz, possibly even some techno would work.

Good to see they mentioned Zero 7 and Roxy Music - both are amazing groups. They're missing Thievery Corporation's Mirror Conspiracy though.

They should also add Fear Factory to the list

Solid is correct.

That song wins the thread. period.

...If only I had a chance to use it. :banghead:

BLEH! Just The Way You Are is TERRIBLE! I'd be too busy cleaning up vomit to make out with anybody.

Jeez, how come Blender Mag hasn't disappeared in a cloud of their own tabloidal ignorance by now?

Madonna, “Justify My Love”
I rest my case; I've heard enough Madonna to last several lifetimes, and never miss it if I never heard another Madonna song again.

[shame]I've done it at least once with George Michael's Careless Whispers...[/shame] :guilty:

Any chick who would be willing to make out to 'Radiohead - No Surprises' wins my heart forever.

Any Radiohead fan who can get a 'chick' to sleep with him should get a medal ;)

So true. I was listening to Kid A when I picked up this girl from her house, within 10 seconds she had changed the CD. If I wasn't driving I would have slapped that bitch down.

:ill:

One piece of advice I can give... never ever leave your mp3 player on 'random' - fine, so you might select an appropriate song to get things going, but there is no better contraceptive than a sudden blast of The Wurzels  (I really must take them off my iPod...)

I have to agree 100%.

That is one of the songs that were made, which will always be stated as a new and fresh sound.

Amazing work. This song played by prodigy live is unbelievable.

There is nothing that comes close to this. There will always be a good rock song or pure dance song. But the mashup of Hip Hop and electronic music really is massive. The energy, just wow ;)

Women just love the lyrics too 👍

The first time I heard that song I thought he was saying 'Smack My Bishop' - which could be considered offensive to both Catholics and chess players alike.

If it was 'Smack My Bishop' would it be a euphemism?

Thats the problem. People dont understand what its about.

each of the prodigy members are married and have kids. Do you really think they went out to discriminate woman with this song?

Im so glad that this is a band who dont make connections between real life situattions/politics, whatever. For them its about the music. The energy, the vibe you get from it.

Smack my bitch up is a sampled lyric from Kool Keith and the Ultramagnetic MCs. He said the lyrics, but no one cared.

It is just a lyric they have sampled, it fits well to that song. "SMack my bitch up!" its so intense and matches the hard vibe that song has.

And you know, there is a woman acutally singing in that song, as you might know haha. She was there in the studio! OMG...
