Group C Le Mans Classic
If this race gets enough popularity, there is a possibility that this turns into a series.
Time and Date of Race
Sunday, September 1st, 2013, 5 PM EDT (21:00 GMT).
If there are any issues with the current date, I am willing to negotiate.
Track/Length of Race
Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 no chicane.
72 laps, or about 4 hours long.
Rules and Regulations
Tire Restrictions
Racing: Hard tires only. No exceptions.
Room Settings
Slipstream: Weak
Grip Reduction: Real
Race Delay: 180sec
Visible & Mechanical Damage: Off (Anti-Lag purposes only)
Penalties: Off, I will be enforcing my own system.
Collisions: On, will be turned off for qualifying.
Tire/Fuel: Normal
Aids: All off, including ABS.
Late/No Show Policy
I will give a 10 minute grace periods for life issue, lagouts, router resets, and cache clearings. Once it is past race start, qualifying times will no longer be accepted, and all people that didn't qualify must start at the tail end of the pack, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Qualifying/Race procedure
My room will be open by 4 PM EDT on race day. I will be posting a room number, bolded, in a message saying that a room is open. This number will be crossed off if that room is closed. You will have until 10 minutes before the race starts, to set down your qualifying time. If you have not set a qualifying time before then, I will have to take your best lap.
When you are ready to qualify, notify me, and you will get one warmup lap followed by two practice laps. I will be watching the live timing monitor during this time to make sure your lap time is correct. It will be recorded in a Google Docs spreadsheet that will be made public and a link posted here to see.
Once everyone that is available is ready, I'll reset the track, and everyone will line up just outside of pit road in qualifying order. I'll start the race, and we will be going on a GRID START.
Contact
I understand contact happens during a race, but there are line that can be crossed, and crossing them will lead to a penalty
Bump Drafting
NO! Any intentional bump drafting resulting in a significant gain in speed will result in a penalty to the driver giving the bump draft, and a smaller one given to the person receiving it.
Cautions
A safety car period will only be done for a three or more car wreck, regardless of the intensity of it.
Divebombing
I understand brake-lockup, however, intentional divebombing will result in a serious penalty and can get you kicked from my race.
Lag
If you are lagging enough to disrupt my race, leave my room so I don't have to back out, kick you, and restart the entire thing. Plus, if you back out due to lag, and rejoin within an 8 minute period, you can rejoin the race. If I kick you... you can't rejoin.
Shortcutting
For the most part, Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 is tough to shortcut. However, setting more than half of the car into a possible shortcut area, is strictly prohibited.
Car Regulations
There will be two classes in this race. The much more heavily populated Group C1 class, and the spec Group C2 class. Two drivers per car. Only exception is the Mazda 787B which can have up to four drivers.
You can have as much power as you wish in your car but BEWARE, you must make the fuel regulation for your class.
