I was thinking the other day that I would love to try and get back into series hosting, but I had two problems- the first being that while working two jobs I cannot run a couple week to week like I'd want to. The second being that I can only do it in the summer. So, I came up with this.
It's a once a year league that has "track days"- seven Saturdays over the summer where four series are ran throughout the day on one single track (With breaks in between and with scheduled times of course). These four series are ran under the GSFL banner and have varying distances. Some of the series run on alternate layouts- such as open wheel running at the Daytona Road Course instead of in the oval. The opening day for the league will be on the day before the biggest day in racing, Memorial Day Sunday, with not one but two 500 mile races.
Here are the series- All of them will be unveiled on Saturday with separate threads. By the way, the Grand National Stock Car Championship is not using NASCAR- that's too passé for me.
Grand National Stock Car Championship (7 PM room open, 8 PM race)
Dan Wheldon Open Wheel Championship (1 PM room open, 2 PM race start)
Tesla Electric Circuit Racing (5 PM room open, 5:20 PM race start)
OKGP (6 PM open, 6:40 PM race start)
May 24th- Indianapolis Motor Speedway
June 7th- Circuit de la Sarthe
June 28th- Daytona International Speedway
July 12th- Mount Panarama
July 19th- Brands Hatch
July 26th- Twin Ring Motegi
August 9th-Laguna Seca*
The Laguna Seca day is an all-star, non points event only open to winners during the season along with the top 3 in points. Every series has one at their regular times.
