Can anyone doing the Academy with the Thrustmaster T300RS tell me how the force feedback is working. I have the Logitech G25 and even at the lowest setting it's a chore to hold onto just going down the straights. Sometimes I unplug it from the powerbar so I can give my hands and shoulders a rest as it shakes the crap out of them. All other racing is fine and it's only the 4th challenge that gives me the issue. Just wondering if it's a Logitech issue only as I plan on buying the T300RS when I get my PS4 when GT7 comes out.

Thanks for any and all assistance.

Thrustmaster wheels have more powerfull motors so maybe worse. I have the t500 set to 1 and 1 in driving options and its very hard work. Also its not possible to unplug a thrustmaster wheel and still use it i believe so the only rest you can have is to turn academy off. Great choice of wheel your looking at though. 👍

I had a go at the 4th challenge yesterday with my T300. Even at 1/1 FFB it was bucking around down the Mulsanne straight, but holding it with two hands wasn't too bad, I just wouldn't want to run too many laps in a row.

I was very happy with the speed of reaction with the T300, though... flicking it around to keep the car under control is relatively easy.

Personally I always run both the T300 and T500 with FFB Sensitivity at 1 to avoid oscillation on the straights. For road cars I use FFB torque at 2-3 usually, depending on the specific car.
From my testing with iRacing's wheelcheck, the T500 is approximately double the FFB strength of the G27, and the T300 is in between (so 50% more than a G27), so both wheels spin a lot faster than the G27 and that makes it easier to hold slides because the wheel moves to follow the simulated direction of the front wheels better as you enter a slide, less need to "help" it.

T300s are worse than our G25/G27s. But It seems that drivers using the T300 are completely outclassing the G27 users.

I meant the bumpiness at this track. :P

Cool I am going to get one but you do know there is an adapter for plugging in your Logitech pedals into your T300 right? That's what i'm going to do. Can also get the adapter to use our H shifters on the T300

Is the T300 wheel a larger diameter than the G27? I wish I had picked one up before GT Academy started as I will eventually need one for the PS4 anyway.

G27 is 27cm diameter. T300 is 28cm diameter. The difference is small, basically.

Really? I saw someone on YouTube get a 3:25.x with a Thrustmaster and then Connor wolf was in the top 5 for a long time and he has a thrustmaster too.

Lol just cause you see it on YouTube doesn't mean everyone can do it. Wheels don't make you fast you make wheels fast!!

Yes connorwolf has t300 and he's knocked outa top 5 he's currently 12th :P

I also have thrustmastet t500 and when it's time trail time I'll always chose g27

I would argue that a good ffb wheel does help make you fast. Having been around pc racing a long long time I would assert that we all found major speed improvements with the arrival of FFB. Being able to feel the under/oversteer before you lost traction was a major move forward in sim racing.
It's my understanding that the new Thrustmaster wheels have far more accurate ffb therefore giving one a small advantage. I haven't used one of the new one's and that's why I started this thread as I am looking at getting one so I'll have compatibility with the ps4 when I get it.
Thanks everyone for the valuable feedback. I truly appreciate it as I'm sure others following do as well.

We are talking about wheels for gran Turismo / gt academy!

Sure wheels on pc are like day and night from consoles you can't compare the two

I've used just about every wheel on the market from cheapest to high end most exspensive!

Yes thrustmastet wheels have really good ffb and are precise!
But there are draw backs from there wheels.

what I'm trying to say is you don't need the best wheel on the market to be fast or competitive!

Everyone on the top 20 list for gt academy round 4 there using Logitech wheels!

Sure in the past few years ffb wheels have changed and improved a ton that's correct but just cause something cost more doesn't mean it's the best

I would agree that You don't need the most expensive to be competitive. The wheel won't make a lousy driver a leaderboard dominator overnight either. It will give one a more realistic experience wether on the pc or game console. I have the G25 and to be honest the only reason I can see for buying a thrustmaster T300rs is for ps4 compatibility. Yet I am reading that there is a device that will allow us Logitech owners to plug in and spoof the T300rs. I don't know if it's available right now as of this post but I do know there is a device that will allow us to use our pedals and H pattern shifter with the T300rs thereby saving us from spending yet more money on equipment that some of us allready have.
Regarding sims I have been trying to find plans to make my own FFB sim cockpit so I can have a small sense of G forces. I would love to have the plans and have it built before I buy the Oculus in the new year. Can anyone help with plans for such a project?
